DESCRIPTION

Named after a Zygerrian monarch whom served the CIS of old, the Scintel-class Cruiser is an update of a vessel that had served admirably in early days of the modern Confederacy: the Leviathan-class Assault Frigate. Originally, the naval coordinators planned to deploy the Leviathan-classes alongside the carriers of the nation; but noted that there was still a pronounced lack of cover. As such, adjustments were made to the initial design which then resulted in a capable escort for the carriers of the Confederacy. To begin, the first step in creating the Scintel-class Cruiser revolved around the augmentation of the original design's perameters; resulting in a vessel of the cruiser classification. However, with this elevation in class came the supposed incorporation of armaments that was considered "standard" for a vessel of its size.

Yet, the design teams of Druckenwell Shipyards had something else in mind. Therefore, they decided to omit warhead launchers entirely from the vessel's design, thereby allowing them to incorporate a host more capital guns upon the vessel. These were primarily of the heavy designation, thereby allowing them to pack a larger punch when engaging enemy capital ships on the field of battle. What's more, the design teams decided to continue this "trend" and therefore selected defensive turrets of the heavy designation. Whilst few in number, the power behind them is absolutely lethal to smaller, enemy craft and ordnance. With the issue of armaments addressed, the next area on the plate of the Druckenwellian Engineers was that of hull composition.

To this end, the decided to go with the norm and epitomize defense. This was accomplished through utilizing the same number of durable metals in the composition of its hull plating and frame. Durasteel, Quadranium, and Turadium were each reinforced into an exceptionally durable alloy which was then used to compose the totality of the vessel's plates and its frame. Then, the final step came in the form of selecting a hangar complement that would also revolve around packing a strong punch whilst escorting the navy's starfighter swarms. As such, the whole of the hangar was dedicated to twenty-four Tikkes-class Assault Craft, thereby allowing for a large sum of explosive ordnance to be effectively employed against the enemy at a sublight that would outpace the typical capital ship.

As a whole, the design teams of Druckenwell Shipyards succeeded in updating the Leviathan-class Assault Frigate into a capable escort for the nation's starfighters.

In general for balanced, mass-produced ships, we like to keep it at one advanced system, two if there is some noteworthy weakness written into the sub. So I'd like it if either a weakness was written in, or it was dropped to just one advanced system (and perhaps note what exactly is advanced about it. Fluff is always good.)
