SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The armor ties in with a fashion line features that can be found through many of the deWinter family members.
  • The green crystals were chosen to go hand in hand with Scherezade's eye color.
Strengths
  • The usage of Phrik for the armor gives it a very high resistance to lightsabers and blasters, as well as kinetic damage.
  • The armor permits a full range of movement.
  • Force Imbued: the armor increases Scherezade's telekinetic control to compliment her fighting style (dual wield + a number of Czerka knives in the air controlled through the Force)
Weaknesses
  • While the armor provides extra layers against the elements, it doesn't really have anything special about it that would serve as actual protection against heat or cold.
  • The armor is useless against sonic/EMP/ION damage.
  • The feathers on the armor are for pure aesthetics and need to be changed every so often after battle.
  • The armor does not protect the lower guts and the reproductive system. Additional gear is required for that.
  • The armor does not protect the shoulders or arms. Additional gear is required for that.
DESCRIPTION
“What did she think she was, the best pin cushion in the ‘verse?” – [member="Srina Talon"]

“So Scherezade doesn’t use armor on a battle field? You mean, she’s stupid?” – [member="Razelle Breuner"]

Seven months ago, Scherezade deWinter was released of the pebble in which she was imprisoned since before the Gulag years. The galaxy was new and strange to her, and although she had the help of her adoptive sister, many of her first steps were taken alone. In a completely unplanned set of events, Scherezade somehow found herself time after time on various battlefields, wearing nothing but jeans and t-shirts to protect her body. Very quickly, her body gathered more scars than many warriors received over a lifetime, as it took a while before she could afford a bacta tank on her ship as well. Her early fighting style mostly included being punched, stabbed, cut, and hurt, until the rage boiled beyond a tipping point and she lashed back with everything she had been hit with.

But of course, such a pattern of fighting is very hard to sustain if you’re not really intent on dying, especially when your training in the arts of the Sith is going slower than you would otherwise want.

She had been planning on constructing her armor for some time now, but certain events (being almost murdered by a Jedi, being brought back to life by the mans she loved and her adoptive sister only to discover that while she was fighting for her life the two became an item, resulting in her breaking, you know, the usual) caused that plan to be shelved.

Until now.

It was recently that Scherezade was gifted with a pair of twin lightsabers, Fire and Smoke, gifted to her by the Jedi [member="Josh DragonsFlame"]. After two months of being utterly broken and dysfunctional, her old taste for violence and the fields of battle had been reignited. But she knew that this time around, there would be no one around to carry her to the nearest bacta tank, which meant she had to up her quest for getting decent armor. The ones offered by the Confederacy did not fulfill her desires, as they were either pleasing to her eye, or fulfilling of their function, but never both.

As a result, Scherezade began to construct her own armor. It took several days of studying the existing armors within the CIS as well as watching fashion creation shows on the holovision before she had a rough sketch of what she wanted. The next problem though was getting the things she needed. Spidersilk was already in her possession since her first trip to Dathomir, as well as the Dathomiri raven feathers, but these two alone would never protect her from anything.

Eventually, Scherezade turned to [member="Darth Metus"] and asked for his assistance. The two spent several days together, as Metus provided her with the phrik and the crystals she needed. It was a learning experience. As her own knowledge in Sith Alchemy was lacking, it was Metus who filled in the gaps, making the armor compliment her fighting style (two blades in her hands and anywhere between a few and a dozen blades in the air). It wasn’t perfect; Scherezade realized early on that if she was going to get the piece she wanted, certain parts of the torso would have to be compromised. But it didn’t matter. It as a learning experience, and she made mental notes to construct several pieces later to protect her lower abdomen, legs, and shoulders.

And at last, after seven months and too many scars, both on her body and her soul, Scherezade had her first armor.
