DESCRIPTION

The best friend of combat engineers, bounty hunters, and sector rangers everywhere, the SB-17 Combat Fusioncutter is your modern solution to multitasking in a hostile work environment. The SB-17 contains both a fusion cutter assembly with variable output as well as an ultrasonic generator, allowing it to function as repair tool, breaching equipment, or close combat weapon with ease. By snapping the blade into the ready position, the ultrasonic generator is engaged and connected to the switch that usually controls the fusion cutter. Switching back is as simple as deactivating the generator, unlocking the blade, and folding it back into place.

The power cell is easily replaced and recharged, good for hours of operation. The design is quite rugged, functioning well even if used roughly, the thick blade even durable enough to be an improvised crowbar. Though the fusion cutter itself can technically be used as a weapon on it's own, the short range and rarity of prolonged contact translates to low effectiveness unless the intent is to blind, which the manual says you should absolutely never do for safety reasons. The manual also includes illustrations and detailed instructions regarding several different ways the fusion cutter should not be used to blind or injure someone.
