http://www.desktopnexus.com ; original concept and design by 343 Industries and Microsoft Studios

PRODUCTION INFORMATION (Applies to all Technology Templates)
Intent: To preserve the knowledge and memories of Dr. Sarina Reeve, one of the smartest Imperial scientists in the galaxy during the Gurlag Plague.

Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/26371-one-mind-no-body-sari-dev-thread/

Manufacturer: Dr. Sarina Reeve

Model: Artificial Intelligence

Affiliation: Unaffiliated

Modularity: Can be programmed into a computer system or droid

Production: Unique

Material: Human tissue, computer circuitry; Data core made of steel

Description: SARI is a fully functioning A.I. She can access data from computers and various hard drives, but she can’t travel through them or easily manipulate them. She herself cannot age due to not actually being alive. She can very easily be destroyed, though. Since she can’t manually leave her data core, she can be taken and not be able to do anything about it. SARI can feel emotions like a normal human. This makes her wish she was one.
In the last days of her life, Dr. Reeve created SARI in order to preserve everything that she knew and who she was. The Gurlag Plague destroyed Dr. Reeve. But thanks to SARI, she didn’t truly die. All of her memories, her mindset, her knowledge, and everything that made Dr. Reeve human (aside from the fact that SARI doesn’t have a living body of course) was preserved in SARI.

That is not a development thread, that's a bio where I told you to DO a development thread!

This is what the development thread must be:

A
Artificial Intelligence (Non-Droid) (( Objective: A thesis must be written, either in a blog or over the course of a role-play thread, consisting of the concepts of your Artificial Intelligence’s design. Scientific journal excerpts from your character’s time spent designing the Artificial Intelligence must be included. Minimum 1000 words total. ))

@mention me with your thoughts on this. If you are prepared to do the work to get this character approved I will archive the submission until then. If not, this will be denied.

I was slightly confused on the "concepts of the design" part. What would I put in it, exactly? In-depth and vivid descriptions of the inner workings of a computer? (I'm not exactly familiar with that... )

Seeing as how this is fictional technology none of us really know, a fair bit of handwaving and technobabble is in order.
Basically, we would like you to do a development thread via an RP which documents the design, construction and features of the AI, with the word limit in mind. As stated, it must also include scientific notes, likely in 1st person, which describe the construction from her perspective. It’s not an easy task but it’s not meant to be easy. AIs are something that Star Wars has an odd awkwardness with, so this is to stop people creating one without doing the work first.

For this dev thread it will greatly help your case if you can find someone willing to do a past RP as someone helping Cortana make the AI, though in this case an exceptionally well done individual dev thread will be considered.

I don’t think anyone’s successfully done an AI here with these restrictions, so I’ll be interested to see what you come up with.

Right. So I just need to temporarily play as Dr. Cortana Reeve in the days of the Gurlag Plague in order to explain the events leading up to and the events during Cortana's construction with professional-sounding tech-talk and complex thoughts? Yeah. Piece of......cake......... *nervous gulp*

Are the journal entries in the bio adequate? Or do I need to make better ones?

They’re a start, but since you need 10 posts I suggest you do one at the end of each post. Look to make each post 100-150 words including the journal. That will give you the length needed.

I'm very impressed. This should be a lesson on how to maturely work something through the factory.
You've done the hard yards in the dev thread, you've listened to instructions and advice, and you've got plenty of limits as well as strengths.
Approved. :)
