APPEARANCE:

Saren Dusk presents as composed and restrained, with a posture that suggests discipline and class. He dresses in tailored corporate attire, dark coats, layered fabrics, an attempt at high society from pieces that seem to be put together from random points in life. Un-matching pants and coats but all presented as if the peak of high society. A fur-lined mantle rests across his shoulders, with gold chains and brass fastenings are present to finish his rich poor man style.

His face is sharp and reserved, with a cybernetic left eye integrated cleanly into the socket. The artificial eye emits a faint violet glow in low light, its construction elegant rather than industrial. It marks him as someone who has survived violence from some unknown event.

When he talks his voice is low and sunken. Snake like, with a slogging whisper tone.



STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

Strengths:

Political and Criminal Negotiator:
Saren excels at convincing others to act in his interest. He understands incentives, money, protection, access, reputation, and applies them precisely. He rarely needs to threaten; most people cooperate because it benefits them to do so.

Systems Thinker:
He understands contracts, shell companies, logistics, regulatory loopholes, and supply chains. His control is built into processes rather than enforced through force, making it difficult to remove him without destabilizing everything around him.

Cost-Conscious Operator:
Saren views violence as a last resort. It is expensive, draws attention, and creates instability. When violence happens, it is because someone else's actions have made it necessary.

Patience:
He is comfortable waiting for leverage to mature. Saren allows rivals to overextend, debts to accumulate, and political pressure to build before acting.

Emotional Control:
Saren rarely reacts visibly. He separates personal feelings from decisions, allowing him to remain effective in tense negotiations and long-running disputes.

Credibility Through Reliability:
Deals made through Saren tend to hold. This reputation makes people willing to work with him again, even when they don't like him.

Good Shot and quick on the Draw: Not prone to taking the risk of law enforcement by directly blooding his hands. He is still very capable of quickly getting a few shots off at anyone who wants to take him out. Paranoia comes in waves to anyone in this business long enough. With that looming possibility of betrayal over his shoulder, Saren has become formidable with a blaster.



Weaknesses:

Low Visibility:
Saren avoids public displays of authority. This can allow others, especially Jynra, to dominate perception and narrative, even when he holds equal or greater leverage behind the scenes.

Indirect Control:
Because he relies on intermediaries and agreements, outcomes are not always immediate. In fast-moving situations, his approach may be outpaced by direct action.

Limited Personal Loyalty:
Most relationships Saren maintains are transactional. This limits genuine loyalty and can leave him exposed if incentives shift.

Reluctance Toward High-Risk Moves:
Saren prefers predictable gains over bold gambles. He may hesitate when an aggressive play could decisively reshape the board.

Emotional Distance:
He rarely forms close personal bonds. While this protects him from manipulation, it can also isolate him and limit trust within the family.

Aging ol' man:
Lady time is undefeated. As Saren ages he is slowly losing his ability to perform well or for a long time in physical or hand to hand combat. Relying on stims and chemical compounds made under the Dusk corporation.

HISTORY:

Saren grew up in Dusk facilities, offices, and guarded estates. Armed security was normal. Restricted areas were normal. Conversations stopped when he entered rooms, and asking questions was frowned upon. Secrecy and natural whit were celebrated.

He was exposed early to the practical side of the operation. He saw shipments delayed until the right payment was made, contracts rewritten to avoid scrutiny, and officials treated as an employee. Money moved constantly, often without paperwork. By the time he was old enough to be formally involved, he already knew how things were handled.

While Jynra gravitated toward engineering, weapons, and enhancement systems, Saren focused on the infrastructure. He learned corporate law, logistics, accounting obfuscation, and how to move illicit goods through legitimate channels.

During an internal betrayal within the Dusk supply network, Saren was critically injured, losing his left eye. The incident reinforced his preference for distance, redundancy, and indirect control.

Publicly, Saren functions as a senior executive within Dusk Corporation, managing acquisitions, compliance, and logistics. Privately, he arranges contracts, bribes officials, pays intermediaries, and ensures that every product Jynra creates has buyers.

As their father's health has declined, the family dynamic has begun to change. Decisions once made unilaterally are now contested or delayed. Saren does not challenge his sister openly, but he reinforces the idea that he is vital. The chosen one who should naturally be put in charge of all of that sweet money and power.




PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS:

Saren believes violence is inefficient and expensive. Payments, favors, contracts, and dependency are cheaper and scale better.
He prefers to make people want the outcome he needs. If they refuse, the resulting consequences are indirect, delayed, and difficult to trace back to him.
Saren does not seek recognition. He prefers to be indispensable.
