Designed based on the fastbreeders from the Old Republic era, the research into the droids was beneficial to making the amniod fluid for bio droids. The construction purpose of the fastbreeders beneficial as it has small silvery tendrils designed to breakdown and pull in materials like ore and metal for its purposes. With smaller nanomachine constructors to repair and in some cases upgrade as they make connections between systems that will hold as opposed to being jury rigged within the ship.
With the worked that has been made for it, the fastbreeder droid takes the place of the ship and the machines work as the plant sending the tendrils to gather materials and going into construction purposes. The main problems are that it requires recouses, breaking them down, rebuilding them is easy but without the materials i isn't something that will be helpful. The programming of the machines is also set, each seed being programmed specifically for a model of ship or vehicles.
The Rhion has proven effective in being a shipboard supply. Upgraded and used for repairs but also for incorporating new technologies if they are found when repairing and working on the ship. The Second Fleets method of having it there to also breakdown debris fields had proven useful and it was present to Sasori as something to increase the production of if only a little. It might not fully becom the standard fare for ships to hold in reserve but as something that can be on personal or custom ships as an extra piece Sala'dine knows the value.
