OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make a standard component for Saotome submissions
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source:

    Anticoncussion Field

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Saotome Foundry
  • Model: Saotome System
  • Affiliation: Company Name(s) (Sasori and Subsidiaries)
  • Modularity: Mass-Produced. (Anyone.)
  • Material:
    Components
  • Projectors
  • Sasori Inth

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Modularity: Designed to go on Saotome and Sasori ships
Strengths:
  • Structural Integrity: Within the bubble that is projected, high resistance to kinetic damage and impact from projectiles. It isn't invulnerable but the high impact can be felt and eventually break from the stress.
Weaknesses:
  • Non Combative: Designed to just make kinetic weapons less impactful, it serves no means to actually combat enemies and doesn't differentiate between friend or foe making all kinetic impact within the field nearly a tap
  • Networking: Designed to be used as a network of projectors if one fails or isn't maintained it can start to create gaps in the network
DESCRIPTION
Designed to be an advanced Saotome system for their ships and facilities, the suppression system that has been made and tested for dampening energy was good but it allowed kinetic and several other cross types of weapons to be used. (energy wrapped slugs or weapons that used a mixture of energy and kinetic) so a secondary system that could be used and set on the ship to work against kinetic impact. A byproduct of the field is that it can increase the structural integrity of the inner hull against impact as well. Depending on where the field is located this can be good or bad (closer to the hull of the ship can help more then a small field within the middle of the ship for instance) The other things about the field is that it is strong so long as there is the full network of sensors. If they aren't maintained and some fail it can open up areas where it doesn't function.

So mass drivers that rock the hull of the ship will be unable to possibly be felt within the ship.
This seems rather combat focused to me.

the field itself is strong against explosive and kinetic impact dampening them witihin so attacks from both sides can become almost inert
I'm going to plainly state that I'm not approving a shield that makes physical weapons or explosions unable to render damage to a ship.

[member="Nadja Keto"] okay, how much of a limitation would you like? Mostly because that is what the canon sub did to a larger degree.
Special resistance to kinetic damage and physical projectiles is fine, but near invulnerability is not.
