Strengths And Weaknesses
  • Strengths:
Saok is kind and peaceful, always willing to lend his ear to those who need to talk, and his arms for a quick hug. He holds no ill will toward anyone, and will happily walk away from conflict if he cannot resolve it with words. Resorting to violence isn't even an option in his mind.
  • After so many years of being picked on and having to rise above it, Saok has become rather strong-willed. It takes a lot to draw him toward anger, and he has come to expect the worst out of a situation while hoping for the best. After all his prayers have been answered once already, so why not again?
  • For a child as young as he is Saok has surprisingly high stamina and endurance. He has often taken to running away from his problems, in a literal sense, and whenever he feels stressed or overwhelmed or anything even remotely close to anger he will opt to go for a long jog rather than succumb to it.

[*]Weaknesses:
  • Due to his inability to learn, or even have access to any real green space that involved plants, Saok is woefully incapable of tapping in to his people's passions for botany. It upsets him to no end, and is something he wishes to work upon in time. For now though he is more likely to kill a plant than help it to flourish.
  • As is the case with most of his people, Saok has poor coordination skills which can be attributed to the position of his eyes on his eyestalk. His perception is somewhat skewed, which leads to him often bumping into things and ending up with cuts and bruises he cannot really explain the origins of. While in time he can find methods to counteract this, for now it is something he simply must live with.
  • Being a child Saok is obviously much weaker, and significantly less intelligent, than other Ithorians. It does not help that for the majority of his life he was raised in ignorance, and fed the bare minimum, leading to an undernourished, frail form.
  • Due to the fact that Saok is a pacifist should an actual fight break out between himself and another he would be hard pressed to properly defend himself. Even if he was to learn some sort of defensive - or even offensive - form through his training the likelihood of him taking it into account and putting it into practice in the heat of the moment is slim to none. Sometimes talking someone down, or simply fleeing, isn't enough, and this could lead to injuries or worse in the future.

Pre-Roleplay History
Saok does not remember the wonderful, verdant landscape of Ithor. When he was just a toddler an attack on his homeworld had him pulled from the peaceful land he called home, thrust into the arms of the Empire who saw him as just another disgusting alien without merit. Overlooking his sensitivity to the Force he was pushed off to Dromund Kaas, with most of the children being sent to different planets so as not to over taint them with non-human species, and it was there that he was placed into the care of a backstreet orphanage who cared more about the profit which could be made than the children themselves.

Growing up in a xenophobic society was difficult, yet where many might buckle Saok simply took it all with a pinch of salt and rose above it. Though he had not been raised around his own kind their natural inclinations toward peace and pacifism came easily to him, and rather than fight back when his bullies reared their heads he found solace in quiet corners or simply ran from them. While his coordination was laughably poor, often stumbling into things due to an odd depth perception borne from the position of his eyes, running proved to be one thing he was good at if given enough space to do so. His twin mouths allowed him to inhale air at a faster rate, and all of the chances he got to flee his pursuers left him with heightened stamina and endurance even at so young an age.

Soon enough they gave up poking fun at him at all, turning their efforts instead to others such as the Falleen boy, the Togruta girl, and the half-breed [member='Atefeh Lorr'] who was cruelly and maliciously bullied more so than the rest despite the fact that she looked the most human out of all the aliens in the orphanage. Perhaps that was why. Saok felt perpetually bad, and to blame, for the attention the others garnered while he was able to simply avoid it, and would often be the one who was there for his saddened peers when all was said and done. The day that Tefie was liberated from their 'home' was bittersweet, because while he was perpetually grateful for the fact that the young girl now had a home, and a family, and while he knew she would be far away from all of the harmful words and actions of the others, he could not help but find his friendship group diminishing. Aliens were few and far between, after all.

So it was that when the woman who had adopted Tefie came back to the orphanage for the rest of them, all of his prayers were answered. Not only was he free from the oppressive grip of their overseers, but he was able to see his friend once again - at least, that was the hope - and the other children who had bullied them no longer had cause to. After all they were only doing so to keep their own heads afloat, to avoid the stern words and rough hands of the orphanage staff. He was taken to a wonderful world full of light and life, known as Ceto, and there his life began anew.

Upon reaching Ceto he wanted nothing more than to branch out into the skills of his people, to learn what it was to care for nature and assist in the various botanical gardens that the Temple had to offer. However, years of negligence and a lack of schooling left him woefully unprepared and much to his dismay he found himself more likely to harm and kill the plants in his care than help them to flourish. It wasn't until a certain Ithorian Je'daii Master came to visit that he began to feel a little more at ease, with the Temple Master being the only one of his kind he could recall ever seeing. Master Dundam had a quiet word with the Steward of Padawan Kesh and together with the kind woman he has begun to learn the basics of botany though it hasn't helped him very much so far.
