History
Like many Mandalorians, Sanjuro did not start his life out among them. He is a Cathar, born on the planet of the same name. In the millennia that followed the Mandalorian Wars against the Cathar, the homeworld and its survivors were practically blown back to a primitive lifestyle. For a time, their species prospered until the Galactic Civil War. It was during this the homeworld Cathar were soon faced with a new enemy: the Kiltik. Large, beetle-like insectoids that ravaged the landscape, decimating entire forests like locusts upon crops. The Cathar retreated to the remaining forests, defended them with tooth and claw over the past eight centuries. As it stands, between the beetles and the Gulag Plague, there are only 900,000 homeworld-born Cathar.
These were circumstances that Sanjuro was born into. He was born to one of the rare merchant families that had reclaimed spaceflight. Yet, Sanjuro was the second-born child within the family. In all likelihood, he was not going to inherit the family business. Thus, from birth, he was given early training and teaching to be among the Cathar guards that defend the forest-villages' perimeters. He showed a true interest in becoming an archer, who would fire upon the bugs from afar. However, Sanjuro would not have that chance come to be.
Being that he was still a cub, he would not have been handed over to the guard until he was much older. It was a dark path of fate that caused him to be among the Mandalorians. As he was still allowed to be with his family, he was with them on the fateful day. His father had some trade-dealings offworld and decided to take his family with them. What became unexpected was their vessel being raided and captured by Thalassian slavers.
His father was killed immediately, as mature male Cathars were seen as too difficult to be slaves. Yet, as a mere child, his captors believed they could mold the boy into a better slave. Over years, Sanjuro endured hardship after hardship. His birth family died one way or another in the possession of the Thalassians, either sickness or unable to withstand the constant abuses by their enslavers. Sanjuro was similarly attempted to be broken, trying to be shaped into an obedient slave. He was passed from one master to another, but none seemed to have total obedience from him. To Sanjuro, he seemed that this was his fate. He was a youth when fate changed for him.
Mandalorian raided Er'Kit, killing the slavers and freeing those in chains. Sanjuro was found by a scion of Clan Wren, who freed him and offered a place in their clan as a foundling. He accepted wholeheartedly. For the next few years, he trained under the Wrens, effectively finding a new family. Then, the Sith Empire struck Mandalore and scattered his adopted people to the stars. In the interim years, Sanjuro stuck with what remnants of his clan he could find, eventually joining with the Enclave. Now, as the Enclave grows, he is helping rebuild on their new home.

Strengths and Weaknesses[+] Martially Trained: Sanjuro is a formidable warrior. In his childhood, he was given basic training to become a Cathar Guard. When he was adopted by Clan Wren, they expanded his repertoire of martial arts. Namely, he has become deadly with his use of a bow and with firearms.
[+] Catlike: Being a Cathar comes with its perks as well. Namely, he has catlike traits. Namely, he has retractable claws in his hands that increase the lethality of his hand-to-hand combat.
[~] Chainbreaker: Due to the deaths of his birth family and abuses he suffered by the Thalassians, Sanjuro has a furious rage and trauma dealing with slavers He would not hesitate to kill a known slaver out in cold blood. In addition, certain sounds and visuals associated with his time as a slave that can cause him to freeze up or react emotionally.
[-] Entomophobe: Having lived on the Cathar homeworld, he has been exposed to the daily reality of the Kiltik attacks. This has left a fear of extremely large insects with him. Yet, he is not bothered by insects considered "normal-sized".
