TATOOINE
Unknown Desert
Just after the events of Awakened Within A Storm

If there were worlds classified by their potential for underworld activity, Tatooine was one of the oldest hives. A treacherous world for treacherous work. A pale hand reached to pull a cloth snugly over the man’s mouth and nose. It was always the desert worlds. Always the backwaters. If you were gonna do any business at all that you needed to keep from prying eyes, the Outer Rim was certainly the ideal place for it.

Still, in over a thousand years, he’d yet to find a world covered in sand that he enjoyed.

Perhaps such a thing didn’t exist in the Galaxy. No way to tell except to see it all and, at the moment, he had many more pressing issues on his hands than frolicking about the known worlds. His ride on a speeder was a pleasant one, so far no signs of pirate or creatures. That was until he saw a flash out of the corner of his eye. The man slowed and paused for a moment, looking in the direction of the disturbance. Heavy air. Even so, lightning didn’t belong here. Not unless it was man-made. Curious, the Vampirika set off to see the source of the flash.

A short ride over the dunes brought him to a hut in the middle of the landscape. He parked the speeder in trough of the dunes so it remained hidden and he watched from just over the crest of the sand mound. Even after only a short view to take in everything, he knew there were too many people down here to get involved directly. It'd get messy and that wasn't exactly his style...today. Loud sounds echoed, fighting and shouting could be heard and eventually the figure of a man came bolting out as though his life depended on it. Glancing back at the hut and then to the man, he made sure the hood over his face and the gloves on his hands were secure before setting off after him.

Using the heavy presence of Force energy in the air to cover his efforts, he cloaked himself within his own energy to ensure it wouldn’t fade as they drew further from the site. Stalking through the desert and over the steep dunes on foot was no easy feat, but the mystery man took it all in stride. Whatever he was motivated by to keep going at the pace he did was something powerful indeed.

There was only one place to go in this direction. The infamous Mos Eisley. Well, this worked out perfectly. He’d been on the way to the spaceport himself to strike a deal or two in hidden alleyways. Maybe he’d get lucky on a few of them.

His feet were tired and sore, each move he willed his body to make ached. He had been wandering the Jundland Wastes for sometime after the crazy encounter he had at the abandoned farmstead. Now with each move he made, he felt the Force or what he could only describe as such. The hood of his poncho lowered over as to stave off the heat of his sun. He walked long and far, long since abandoning his speeder. The strange senses he felt, it was all so new to him that he didn’t know how to describe it. Even comprehend it all.

He still had to keep moving, the only settlement close enough was Mos Eisley. He knew best never to venture out to places such as that. This time he had no choice, as he ran into people… Couldn’t say they were good people, as so many seemed to appear and some with strange auras he had to get away. The problem was that the man seemed to not have a place to go, it seemed that the only way he would recover is just by going through the town alone.

Dragging his feet along the sand, he emerged to the sound of different languages, vendors, and speeders passing by. He was welcomed to the lively walks of life that has passed through. With all his will he kept moving as much as he could, his eyes heavy from the exhaustion of the journey. All that went through his mind was getting out, and how he would possibly be able to find answers. The things he felt from the sand, to the people it was like he had been blind but could see. He wandered the streets confused, on edge and even frightened.

Wandering his way towards the black market, many had tried to sell him illegal items, blasters, drugs, organs, whatever would make a credit. Yet all he wanted was answers and even he didn’t know if he would find them. All he could still do was wander in a daze unknown of what he would find, the glow of the Crystal in his poncho all but faded.

TATOOINE
Mos Eisley

The shift from the open dunes to the compact dirt streets of Mos Eisley was a welcome sensation. Finally, he could stop sinking in sand every time he tried to take a step. He could blend in well, despite his height and build. Aliens and beings of all types roamed this desert, he was no different.

He followed the unknown man for a few blocks, weaving in and out of crowds, batting would-be pickpockets before they reached him to steal the precious gem in his pocket. Zephyr almost couldn’t believe his own eyes. But, where his eyes failed, his senses knew unequivocally. There was no mistaking the signature of a Kyber crystal. Most force sensitives, feth, most beings in the Galaxy would know what one of theo rare crystals looked like. And even if they didn’t, they’d try to pitch a worthless shiny rock off as one to an unknowing buyer.

Silver eyes followed the man’s movement from under a dark brown hood. He might as well be drunk out in the open. Sighing, the Vampyre drew closer and closer with longer strides. Softly, he reached out and tapped the man’s shoulder just outside s cantina entrance, though decidedly far away from all the markets. What followed next was a familiar question and then a rather serious one.

‘Scuse me, are you alright? You’re stumblin’ around and normally, that isn’t good. Are you drunk? Dehydrated, overheating?” He looked at the stranger and lowered his voice, leaning in so he wouldn’t be heard from too far away. “Also, do you know what’s in your pocket? You’ll cause a lot of trouble for yourself toting that around here carefree.
