Having lived a poor nomadic life for most of her early and teen years. Alongside her father, a retired republic scout turn smuggler named Captain Jonathan Jade. Of Firrerreo decent orphaned and rescued by the Republic During the plague that swept the galaxy. He enlisted soon after when he came of age and became know back then as Capt. Jade. Which is as far Sam knew as he never spoke much of it. Other than having been told by him that he was a supply freight captain for the Republic. And that while visiting a recovering friend in the Medbay that he'd met and fallen in love with her mother. Who he'd soon married and once he found out she was expecting had planned to settle down with. But then due to some complication during childbirth, unfortunately, became ill and had since not recovered. Passing away a season or two after her loss had hit him hard so that. He'd then soon decided to retire his post with the Republic and having to purchase a ship which he'd aptly called Shadow Dawn. He making a living as an independent interplanetary trader instead. Having purchased Which was why he'd told Samantha (as she was called back then) is why they never settled anywhere for too long to live a normal life. Unfortunately, as it was thought she never knew what a normal life was, to begin with. So they're moving constantly from planet to planet or job site to job site and not able to call any place home. Didn't bother nor raised her suspicion once that something was wrong that is. Until one fateful day, when Capt. Jade's past seems to have caught up with him. The truth had been revealed that he was wanted for treason for desertion and involvement in the death of his commanding officer. Who for the most part he adamantly denied swear it was all but an accident but then again once press for reason behind it all. He keeps silent and dare not speak of reason as he instead fled...
As a hunter cornered him and was in the process of capturing him. That a scuffle broke out wherein Capt. Jade got injured badly in front of Samantha. Which drove her into a fit of rage-fueled by seeming a volatile mix of her Firrerreo and Zeltron heritage. Only then after once, her mind clears that she comes to realize what she'd done. The hunter had been killed and in fear that more of them would come. She flees the scene with Capt. Jade towards their ship as with his dying breath his father tells her the truth.
That he indeed was guilty of killing his commander that it was all in self-defense. As he'd caught and happened walk in on the commander just as he about killed her mother. Who only confessed later on before she passed when Samantha was born. That she was indeed an enemy spy ....coerce into doing so in fear and torture. Having been kidnapped and enslaved for the latter part of her life during the war. This was in reality that he'd been trying to run away and escape from all these years. At any rate, knowing death was near he makes her promise to leave. Live her life and forget about her past as best she could. Which she does and know that in killing the hunter and in fear of reprisal from his comrades. Captain Jade eventually instructed her to escape on their ship the Shadow Dawn.
With much regret and sorrow, she eventually does and all alone she eventually turned to a life of crime. Taking great care to escape or hide her past. She renames herself and goes by the name Sam and slowly but surely make good to try to live her new life. Make her way from planet to planet making a living and escaping from the law. And come into contact with Vincent Zann whom due to one bad deal. Had ended up having borrowed some capital from him to get her ship repair. And ends up owing him quite a bit of sum cred quite not unaware of the danger she places herself in. But having no other choice she does her best make a decent make a living in order to earn enough cred to hopefully pay his debt to him soon. Hopefully, try to escape the vicious cycle of slavery due to debt. That her path crosses with that of the Confederacy. And from there hopefully starts a new life as well as a future.....wherein after join and placed under the yellow squadron. She could finally make a life for herself away from all the troubles of her past.
But then as thing seemingly was going well for her for one she somehow unable to escape her past. And ends up getting entangled with the Mandalorian Union. As clue is laid bare during a chance encounter with one of their clan that could lead to answers ..... to the mystery of her father secret past.
