Salvager's Legacy

Lenix chuckled "Sadly not, but I can leave her with a friend of mine here, he owns a ship storage, off the books if you know what I mean? Will keep it safe for ya until you return. Safer than having 2 ships, easier to get split up in scrap fields and be picked off by violent pilots. Besides, your strength would be handy on the top gun, the controls are pretty stiff" he laughed "Just gimme the details at the ship and they'll take good care of your baby. Trust me, I let them keep mine!" he laughs

He leads them past a window and stopped them all, pointing down into the hangar where the large, and fairly beaten up Corellian CR90 Corvette "There she is! She may look a little rough on the outside but what's under the panels makes up for it" he said proudly before continuing to the lift

Thryk laughed back, and looked at the CR90. A pretty ship, even if it was beaten up. He could see the hallmarks of modifications all over the ship, and he liked them. He replied, "Well, if I'm gonna be in a ship that's not mine, at least that bird there's a good one."

He hit his comm, warning the guard droid on the Wroshyr to lock up the ship and turn the engine off. The ship would be safe on its watch, and Thryk now felt comfortable going with the little red man, the pretty Jedi, the other vod, and the odd cloaked kid. He nodded, and stepped towards the ship, with the keg still in his hand.

He shouted, "Well, what're we waiting for? Let's find ourselves some scrap!"

"You find that exciting?" he smirked and walked forward to the ship keeping his hood pulled with his cloak concealing his body. He should've loosened up, he had nothing to lose but no one needed to know he was a force user.

Emma was impressed with [member="Lenix Ornil"] 's generosity. Few pilots would give such gracious offers to strangers so easily. Indeed, she felt an honesty in the smaller creature that very few salvagers possessed so quickly. Even during business. It was a compliment to his character as much as his skill. [member="Thryykarr"] seemed pleased by it, at least.

"Agreed. Let us be on our way. We can collect to our cabins for a few moments to take stock and manage ourselves before I'd like to speak to everyone for a moment again. Return to me once we've set sail, perhaps in about an hour. I promise this shall be the last of our presentations before the work begins in earnest. ...Oh, and perhaps our Captain has some seaside responsibilities he'd like to confer as well? If only for the short duration of our journey."

She smiled and clasped her hands together gleefully,

"All aboard the money-making express! Let's get settled in and shove off! Hehe. Captain Ornil the reins are yours. Here's a datachip with my described flight plan for the evening. Naturally, you may make subtle corrections at your leisure. For the safety of the journey, of course. Mm."

Emma did her best to appear the bright and happy leader. If only the center of attention. Perky, glowing, and upright in all things. Though, she knew full well this was simply a business arrangement between scattered tribes. Every man would need his space, his share, and eventually, the freedom to call it quits whenever they really wanted. Such was the way of things. Prinn understood this completely, even happily so, but she would continue to present herself, and the group, as a unified force for good and wealth.

One for all and all for one. Leave it to a Jedi to make Musketeers out of strangers. But for now she would retire to her cabin for a few moments of peace and meditation.

The ship seemed a little, rusty. It wasn't as bad as what he was used to though. As a rogue, anything is expected. As he made his way to an empty cabin, he began relaxing although there was no such thing to him. The ship felt warm to him, maybe the best heating and air? He joked in his mind. Alask was expecting a long ride and he knew what exactly to do.

In one of his pockets, he had a box. It felt normal to the human hand and not heavy at all but it felt extremely heavy while holding it with the force. The only way it would feel as heavy was if you were calm while holding it. Alask pulled his hood off attached to his cloak and layed it on a nearby furniture piece. "May the force be with us all." he mumbled setting the box on the floor in front of him as he sat down.

Lenix beamed at the compliments on his ship and a smiled spread across his furred face. He laughed at the compliment from [member="Thryykarr"] and decided to forget he was probably drunk. He heard the comment about Thryykarr's excitement from [member="Alask Diruno"] and laughed "Hey, it's more exciting than you may think Cloakey"

[member="Emma Prinn"] 's plan sounded good to him, he led them into the lift down to the hangar and let Emma hand him the datachip "Thankyou Miss Prinn, and yes, my Protocol droid will show you to your cabins inside" he smiled.

The lift opened and the battered vessel loomed over them with it's hammer-head cockpit "Shall we?" he directed them to the custom-loading ramp under the ship to board. A beaten up- mimatched protocol droid greeted them~ with the head of an old "Death Star droid" and a 3P0 body. His grated electronic voice greeted them.

"Greetings, I am PT-RA7, let me show you to your cabins" He directed them to quarters whilst Lenix broke off to begin programming the route and prepping the systems for take off.

The innards of the ship hummed gently, the white corridors a little worse for wear from it's haulage life, but nothing too grimy. Lenix had an old cleaning drone he sometimes activated when he had the spare credits for the soap it used. The quarters themselves were reminiscent of the ship's consualr days, basic, but pleasant.

"I trust you all enjoy your stay, the cockpit is back the way you came." the droid replied before walking off to accompany Lenix on the bridge

Thryk laughed at the Prinn lady, and tromped off to find somewhere that he could put the keg that was now making his arms a little tired. When he found the galley, he wasn't particularly hungry, so he just set the keg down in a corner and muttered, "Why did I even bring this?"

With the two Jedi sitting in their rooms, and the other vod off somewhere, Thryk decided to go sit in the cockpit for a bit, and just watch the stars. He sat down in some officer's chair and asked Lenix, "What's it like being a Squib? I thought the homeworld was pre-spaceflight, but that's clearly not true for you."

[member="Lenix Ornil"] [member="Alask Diruno"] [member="Emma Prinn"] [member='Kyber Salurra']

The squib was busy checking his systems as the ship sat in the main hangar, receiving fuel and supplies. He watched the wookie walk in and sent him a smile as he went to sit down. He always liked company that wasn't a droid.

Lenix laughed as he prepped his systems for takeoff~ watching the fuel gage slowly fill as the hangar crew topped off the tanks "Naaah not pre flight at all! Us squibs have been scattered across the galaxy for 4000 years! We use everyone else's spaceship parts to make our own~ it's our speciality on top of haggling" he laughed. "It gets annoying when you're trying to be taken seriously as a trader, with people calling you cute, or a tiny fuzzball, though us squibs usually have a blaster to back this up" he laughed "Not like being a wookie where you've got your size and strength to back up any insults" he chuckled "I'm actually pretty odd in my species having a ship this good, usually they fly ones cobbled together from trash!"

Emma's meditation was short and it wasn't long before she was roaming the halls again, on her way to the bridge. She had hoped everyone had taken a moment to collect themselves before they got speedily underway. With a nod the bridge door hissed open and she stepped into the cabin,

"Hello Captain." She said with a bright smile, "How goes it up here? Mind if I stand a moment. Oh,.. don't mind me? Please. Continue."

Prinn didn't want to interrupt.

Lenix smiled at Emma as she walked in "Hello Miss Prinn, you're perfectly welcome to take a seat! Pre-flight checks are nearly done. And don't worry, join in if you wish!" he chuckled~ the squib was stood up on the seat to reach the top of the console~ only one of the pilot seats had been adapted for the small creature's size. Must have been funny to think this 150 meter corvette was owned and run by the 1 meter tall furball.

He hopped off the seat and plugged the data chip into R5 S4, whoo projected a map of their route. He followed it with his large, yellowed eyes to check for any dangers.

"Aah, only fault I can see is a few pirate territories in the Alderaan ruins, in old Rebel bases. Though if we lay low we should be able to bypass or avoid them, so all in all the route looks simple enough! Would take a good few hours but nothing too long to get there"

The box lifted up fairly quickly before falling. A disturbance was felt. He wasn't sure what kind of disturbance but it seemed very necessary to keep his guard up. Maybe loosening up was okay. Maybe he was being too insecure. Alask decided to leave his cloak off and head out to meet up with the others. The first time in forever, he wasn't concealing his face.

After a few minutes of wondering around, he heard chatter in the cockpit. He walked into it to see everyone there or at least everyone he thought he remembered. "Hi. So everyone's set?" he asked with a smile.

[member="Emma Prinn"] [member="Lenix Ornil"] [member="Thryykarr"] [member="Kyber Salurra"]

Kyber entered the ship and let the droid lead him to his room. Once he was inside and the door was locked behind him Kyber removed his helmet to get some fresh air. After awhile of sitting and relaxing he'd head to the bridge with everyone else, making sure to put his helmet back on and reseal it before heading out of the room.

When Kyber reached the bridge he looked around at everyone in the cockpit before finding himself a seat in the back and waiting while the others talked. He didn't find it necessary to make smalltalk with these people, only to get the job done.

He flicked a few switches and nodded "I do indeed believe we're ready!"

He smiled, hopping back into his control seat and booting up the engines~ his droid plugging into the data port and beginning to programme the coordinates

"Hello this is CR-90 in bay 23, preparing for departure" he called over the coms to the hangar master. the doors opened and sulight flooded the interior of the hangar bay. the huge 11 engines roared as the tiny squib brought up the craft, backing up the full 150 meters of the corvette out into the sunlight of Bespin~ the Interceptor whipping around to face the opposite way: pointing towards the sky

"Now you may want to hang onto something!" he laughed before gunning the huge engines into life~ the craft lurching forward suddenly and powerfully towards the heavens~

Oh dear. Poor Emma must have faded off there for a second. What was she doing again? Ah yes. Salvaging parts for her Starcourier. That's right. Ahem. Best get back to it then.

"Ah! I must have dozed off there for a second. You'd think it was Life Day on Kashyyyk already around here. Who knew I could nap so well in such a refurbished arm chair too. And on the bridge no less. Good heavens. I must, have been tired. Ho my."

She sat up straight and took a moment to stretch out.

"Oh? Excellent work Captain. We are already further along then I expected. Let's get a head count before we go any further. Maybe you could even explain to us some of the dangers we face while traveling in Hyperspace? I doubt Sith and Republic Patrols are the only challenges that lay ahead of us today. We could all use a little refresher before jumping headlong into the Alderaan Ruins."

The poor Jedi scratched her chin. She really hadn't budgeted for hazard pay this week. Oh my.

[member="Lenix Ornil"]

*ooc: I mostly post on weekends these days. But I'll make a better effort to be around and pushing things along. *wink*

Kyber turned to the Jedi woman and raised a brow at her from under his helmet as he thought to himself; "How did this woman know about Life Day?" Kyber let the thought scratch his mind for a few minutes as he continued to look at her from behind the safety of his Mandalorian Visor. He finally sighed as he left the question unanswered in his mind before looking to the captain and out into the blackness of space.

Kyber looked back to the jedi woman in charge and spoke through his broken mic, distorting his voice to a low and ever-shifting robotic one; "I can probably handle any Republic Patrols coming along, I can just say we're on a mission with the Republic. As a member of Wraith Squadron they'll probably understand." Kyber looked back to the little red guy and spoke to him next; "Do you have an armory or a Mechanic shop? I'd like to finish some modifications and repairs. Also and ETA would be nice, I'd like to know how much time I have."

// [member="Emma Prinn"] // [member="Alask Diruno"] // [member="Lenix Ornil"] // [member="Thryykarr"] //

Lenix guided the ship up out of orbit~ though looking like an old barge, the Corvette flew like a dream. he looked back to the jedi and smiled "Nothing to worry about until we get there~ afraid we won't be able to stop off in the meantime but I have plenty of supplies on-board so once we're in hyper space anyone who wants any can settle down in the cantina; there's holochess and a holonet linkup so I'm sure we'll be fine." he smiled back to her before turning to the mando

"haha, my whole ship is a workshop my friend!" he laughed "I have a little storage of old and broken weapons you can pull apart for your use, and don't worry, we'll have about 3 or so hours to kill. Got to take a slight detour en-route"

he flicked a few more switches and pushed the acceleration levers forward- the ship lurching and the familiar white array of light filling the wide front window before entering hyperspace

[member="Kyber Salurra"] [member="Emma Prinn"] [member="Alask Diruno"] [member="Thryykarr"]

Thryk looked around, impressed. this ship was fast, even for a CR90.

"This bird flies like a dream. Is it salvaged, or did you find somebody who refurbishes old ships?"

Emma smiled as they reached Hyperspace. It was good to know that the next three hours would be easy going too. Maybe she would go see that cantina [member="Lenix Ornil"] mentioned, after all.

"Oh excellent. Here I was worrying about everything. Hehe. Good to know."

She stood up and nodded towards [member="Kyber Salurra"] ,

"A Wraith aboard too? Fantastic. That will indeed make Republic space all the more friendly. Even with the war going on."

The happy Jedi gave him a wink and strolled out of the bridge towards the cabin spaces. It did appear she had some time to kill.

With a nod, but the smile disappearing, Alask walked towards his room feeling the ship shake. Loosening up didn't seem comfortable. Hopefully, forgetting what he looked like should be easy. While in the room, he grabbed his cloak patting his torso area making sure his armor was there before walking back to the cockpit. He pulled his hood over his face as the rest of it blended well with the black robes. Alask sat down in a cockpit chair hoping no one would notice. Sudden change in mood? Yep. Fortunately, his moods didn't turn into killing unless he was touched randomly even if its just asking where the nearest crook is. That is, if he's on a planet where he experienced something.

Alask reached for his saber resting his hand on it although only a wielder of such a weapon would notice. He just sat there waiting for the next stop.

(See, I'm alive)
