Salvager's Legacy

Jsc

~Still Surfin
Skymark Station
A Cloud City Station somewhere in the Middle-Rim

If the Clouded City of Bespin could have a twin sister, Skymark Station would have been it. Nothing better than a floating palace amongst on ocean of hazy clouds. Emma couldn't have picked a better place to get started. Her adventure for the month was about upgrades. Salvaging for upgrades most likely. Her Starship was in dire need of a few large components but the Marketplace lacked the specific parts. So it did greatly appear to her that the only choice left was to go out and find some. Thusly, enter Skymark Station. A busy hub for oil workers, engine geeks, and salvagers. Space-hulk salvagers to be specific. Just the type of pilots she was looking for.

Emma had placed herself a cabin about a ship already and was even now awaiting their departure. She decided to kill the time between then and now in the Station's Pub. More of a Fish-n-Chips kind of place but it was still pretty darn classy. Even had a panoramic glass view of the clouds outside. Mm. Perfection. Now she could await her next adventure over soda and clouds.

And it doesn't get much better than that.

The doors opened and in walked the owner of said vessel. The meter-tall fluffy creature dusted his hands off and looked around, readjusting his battered old red cap. He spied [member="Emma Prinn"] and waved, making his way over and hopping up onto a bar stool beside her. His hands were oily from prep work on the ship, which now sat, ready to be loaded up in a hangar below.

"Hello madam, I've got the ship parked up and ready for the crew to board. My Astromech is sorting out the refueling and restocking as we speak." he called over to the bar and ordered a soft drink

"So we didn't get a proper chance to talk whilst arranging things did we?" he smiled "What sort of mission do you have planned for us may I ask?"

For a creature more akin to smuggling and salvaging he had a polite and upbeat demeanour!

Thryk heard the muffled 'whump' that meant that the Wroshyr was dropping from hyperspace. Sighing and getting up, he reflected sadly on the fact that he slept alone in this big old shuttle of his, and that girls didn't seem to want to go out with a Wookiee. Oh well. There was a simple remedy for this reflectiveness, he thought: Get sensationally drunk. He was meeting somebody here about a mission, but he still had time to drink. Or maybe caffeine would serve him better?

Hmm...

Thryk piloted the large shuttle down, into the hangar bay, and stepped down the boarding ramp. Looking for the nearest drink of any kind, he walked into what looked like a cafe that had been smashed into a diner, with the lighting and furniture of a bar. The whole effect was actually pretty good. There was a beautiful view of the sky out the window, and an archaic-looking jukebox in a corner, and lots of booze.

Walking up to the bar, and ordering his coffee, Thryk was mildly surprised to see a beautiful human woman talking to a furry guy about half her height. He sat down next to the woman, and jokingly asked, "Did you want a more handsome furball than the red one, miss?"

Emma smiled and her eyes twinkled when [member="Lenix Ornil"] greeted her. She immediately liked this one. But so soon did [member="Thryykarr"] open his mouth that she couldn't help become a bit baffled. Did a Wookiee just say that?

She addressed the booze-bound "furball" first,

"Oh my. Well? Handsome you might be stranger, but this is my new pilot and daredevil Captain. I'd be a wise woman to get on his good side immediately. Hehe. No matter how green the grass looks on the other side. So here? ...Cheers! For good looks all around."

The Jedi held up her glass and winked. After all? Always let the Wookiee win.

"...Now. Many apologies Master Ornil. I did in fact have a flight plan laid out for us near the debris fields of Alderaan and Cardia. With all the recent Sith and Republic skirmishes in the area? Salvage of top-tier components are in abundance. Though, the competition out of Kuat is likely to merit many other ships in the area. I fear we already behind schedule if the pickings are to be pristine."

She shrugged. Battlefields are popular locations for salvagers and Republic patrols. They would need to think like a smuggler if they were to succeed gracefully.

[member="Thryykarr"] [member="Lenix Ornil"]

Lenix could tell the lady knew her stuff! The battlefields would indeed be good pickings, and full of tech! though indeed, they'd be late to the pickings, infact his own kind's salvage fleet were likely trailing the capital ships themselves, as Squibs did!

He grinned back to the wookie~ though over twice his size the Squib wasn't intimidated "Besides, I don't think she's had her flea bath" he joked with a somehow innocent looking smirk, turning back to Emma and considering the journey "Sounds like a solid plan for a fruitful salvage trip! Though don't worry about the shiny stuff, the best stuff is the salvage they leave behind~ you'd be surprised how many leave the vitals and pick up the shiny pieces!"

He laughed, taking a drink and letting out a refreshing sigh~ he had good feelings about this job, he was used to smuggling or jobs from areas like Nar Shaada, this seemed like a nice departure "So where are your crew then? It'd be a pleasure to meet them miss, see who I'll be taking onboard. And might I say it's an honor for me to be working with a Jedi" he smiled and doffed his tattered red cap before replacing it

[member="Emma Prinn"]

[member="Thryykarr"]

Thryk's head tilted at the pretty woman and the red-furred guy as he heard the name "Ornil". So, that was the captain, and the woman sounded a bit familiar. He drank some of his extra-strong coffee, slowly working through all the variables, luck, and insane chances that these two were the people who'd hired him to meet them here.

He put the coffee down, and spoke again, "I'd suggest staying away from Alderaan. Too much political crap involved in taking a shyte on their wonderful planet. Hoth has some good pickings though, almost as good as Carida or Kuat," he drank some more, and added, almost as an afterthought, "Oh, and I'm that Mando you hired. Thrykarr."

He grinned back at the little red-furred man, and put his hands together in a joking prayer, "Dear Force, may our scraps of metal and tech be useful, and may our shiny objects be plentiful. Amen," he drank some more, "Anyway, nice to meet you both. This'll be fun."

[member="Emma Prinn"] [member="Lenix Ornil"]

Lenix laughed and looked back to the good-humored wookie and held out a hand "Hairiest Mando I've ever seen! Lenix Ornil, owner of the ship as you've figured out" he laughed "Good to see a well-humored Mando too! Most have the humour of a moisture vaporator and brood all the time" he joked.

"And don't worry about getting caught, my craft can outrun any diplomatic ship like a speeder bike to a bantha" he took another drink and set it down ~ finally! If the rest of his crew were as good natured as these two it'd be a successful trip by his standards

The doors opened to a little red R5 unit- looking a bit battered but not filthy. He rolled up to Lenix and blooped a flurry of droid speak to the squib

"Fantastic R5! Right, he says the ship's being refueled now, just need to move in your equipment now" he pet the droids head with a clang and smiled "But might want to wait for the rest of the crew here...Really enjoying the drinks!"

(OOC note, [member="Thryykarr"] are you speaking Wookie language and we know what you're saying? Or just basic? Doesn't affect it in anyway just so I know :p)

Everybody's a critic. Emma couldn't help but smile though. She'd meet some strange characters in her day but this was looking like it was going to take the cake. Not a bad start at all. She turned to [member="Lenix Ornil"] ,

"I'm sure the others will be arriving shortly. Should the need arise they can meet us there. Though, I doubt it will come to that. The gentlemen I've hired come from all walks of life and some very diverse places. The money I offered was little more than room and board but the loot and plunder should be excellent and plentiful. I suspect this arrangement will be more of a... partnership? Then anything else."

She smirked and went back to her lunch. Just taking a moment to think it all through. She didn't mind that Ornil knew that she was a Jedi. Everybody was a Jedi these days. You couldn't get from Corellia to Coruscant without bumping elbows with a dozen Force Adepts. Emma only hoped that the Jedi of which Ornil spoke, had a better reputation than most.

Emma leaned her head towards [member="Thryykarr"] ,

"Oh and thanks for coming. I don't usually work with Mandos these days. They seem to keep to their territory when they aren't busy tearing apart Sith Lords for fun and sport. But? I suppose you have your reasons for traveling. So I won't pry. As mentioned, Captain Ornil here will be our ship's captain for the journey. So? Might I recommend you buy him a beer for starters, Master Thryykarr? Hehe. I hear it's good luck where you come from."

She smiled and eyed the door. It wouldn't be much longer before the other hopeful salvagers arrived to round out their congregation.

Pubs wasn't were Alask liked to be but business is business, right? He didn't know what he'd just signed up for but it had to be a decent job to need a whole crew. The only thing he knew was it was about a ship. Walking into the strange place in his black robes and grey cloak, he scanned the area for the group. He was looking for a girl firstly. That might be hard but whatever yea?

Alask finally saw the woman with two other creatures as he walked over to her. Nothing but his mouth would be seen because of the darkness that covered his face from the hood. "Emma?" he asked in a slightly nice tone.

Hm? Prinn turned to greet the fresh faced newcomer. Was this one of the others perhaps? @Diruno Yes. Most surely.

"Ah! Welcome. Forgive me, but I've forgetton your name from our previous communication. ...I'm Emma. Emma Prinn. And this is [member="Lenix Ornil"] , our expedition's captain. And this is Master [member="Thryykarr"] of the Mandalorian Clans. So yes, please. Introduce yourself to the group. I trust you've come to help us salvage a few trinkets. Hehe."

She twisted in her chair and leaned against the bar for introductions.

Lenix, again, took his old battered cap off and bowed his head before extending a fluffed hand to shake~ a squib tradition as their fur acted as a sensory organ it helped identify a person better.

"Nice to meet you sir, and you can lose the robe, it's not Nar Shaada or Mos Eisley "He chuckled~ his R5 unit chuckling alongside him- his sense of humor as good as his master's

He ordered another drink and smiled, putting a hand on the wookie's arm "No need for a drink buddy, maybe after the mission though" he winked with a chuckle

Thryk just raised his eyebrow at the guy who thought he was some kind of superspy with his amazing cloak. Jeez. But he grinned down at the red guy, and shook his head, replying, "There's always the need for a drink. The only problem is noticing it."

He nodded at the pretty woman, and said, "Master nothin'. I'm a giant furball with knives, big guns, and a metal suit. Most of which I built from scrap. So, here I am, doing what I did as a kid. I won't even go into why I speak Basic."

[member="Lenix Ornil"] [member="Emma Prinn"] [member="Diruno"]

Kyber made quite the bold entrance, however not meaning to. Anyone not in a drunken sleep would clearly see Kyber fly through the doorway of the bar only to smash through tables and hit the back wall with a thud. He'd get up slowly and rub his back as a furious looking Wookie would stride in. The Wookie would shout something in Shyriiwook loudly before Kyber would point to the Wookie and shout back to him "I won the bet fair and square and you know it! Don't try and cheat me and let this get any more out of hand then it has to!"

Kyber assumed a low stance before placing a hand on the blade strapped to his right thigh, slowly taking it halfway out of it's sheath. Any Wookie in the room would be able to tell it was an extremely old Ryyk blade. The Angry Wookie took one look at the blade before clenching his fist tightly and punching the wall next to him, leaving quite the dent. The Wookie rushed out pouting to himself, no one near the entrance daring to get in his way to stop him.

Kyber re-sheathed the blade and brushed himself off as he looked around the pub a bit. As soon as he spotted what looked like to be his crew for the mission he walked up to them. He nodded to each of them before speaking through his Mandalarion helmet, the mic distorting his voice, making it a shaky, deep robotic tone "Kyber Salurra. Ready for the Job." Kyber would then look to the bar and hold up his pointer finger, giving the bartender a solitary nod. He'd then look back to the group as the Bartender handed him the beer, waiting to see who'd speak up first and still angry that the Wookie never payed him.

// [member="Thryykarr"] // [member="Lenix Ornil"] // [member="Emma Prinn"] // [member="Alask Diruno"] //

Lenix turned back to the wookie and smirked "Alright but a small one, my metabolism isn't the same as yours when it some to alcohol and you don't want to be crashing into Jabba's Pala-" as he was speaking the unfortunate man in the mandolorian armor flew in~ being thrown by his disgruntled betting 'friend' across the room like a ragdoll... the air was quiet as he got up and regained (as well as he could) composure, and order a drink, before introducing himself as another member of his crew! Oh, how Lenix was now even happier.

He tried Stifling his glee but he just couldn't! He burst out laughing at the scene that had just played out- holding his red gut in laughter as he wiped a tear away from his yellow eye "Woah! hah, ooh wow...I take it back Thryykarr, there are two mandolorians I've met with a sense of humour!" he chuckled, before holding out a paw to the other new member of this mission's crew "Lenix Ornil, I'm the pilot of your ship for this mission."

[member="Alask Diruno"]

"The name's not important. But its good to meet you all anyways. The robe and the cloak stays on as long as I live friend." he said before sensing something. Whatever it was, it was coming closer. About the time he ignored his senses, a loud bang came in. The rogue immediately kept his hand in a defensive position. His physical strength and force skills is what he relied on the most although he was adept in saber skills.

Emma balked at [member="Kyber Salurra"] 's entrance. Poor girl was speechless. Half expecting the other Mando to fire a burst of rockets at his assailing opponent and destroy the establishment completely. She even forgot to respond to poor [member="Thryykarr"] 's comment.

"Erm. Yes well. ...Hello?"

She pursed her lips and seemed to eye [member="Lenix Ornil"] with speculation.

"Ahem. Captain Ornil? Could we maybe... Start moving in the direction of your ship before the Security Teams arrive? As... There are now two Mandalorians in the same room together and I'd rather not have to explain that anomaly to any more armed guards before we hit Republic Space later today."

Emma knew Mandalorians well. One of them was an army and two of them was a barradium detonation waiting to happen. And this station didn't have enough guards for that right now. Or, well. Probably ever.

"So yes. Moving right along now. Ahem. ...Welcome Master Salurra. We'll do introductions on the way."

She stood up and waved a finger just over [member="Alask Diruno"] 's head,

"Check please!"

___

*ooc: Lenix, if you would do the honors pls. An adventuring we shall go. *wink*

Lenix stifled his laughter and finished his drink "Hehe, why yes Madam Prinn, I think we'd better move out, heh, they'll likely charge you for that wall also!"

He chipped in his pay for the drinks and hopped off his bar stool and pet his astromech's side to beckon him along

"Follow me ladies and gentlemen if you would be so kind and I'll show you to our ship for this outing!" he called out with a smile~ though it may have felt weird to have such a small creature as captain the squib had his whit and a blaster incase anyone had any other ideas, though from the look of his crew he didn't think he'd need it, they all seemed to be decent fellows...well...as far as he was concerned!

He led them out of the bar and along one of the many corridors leading down to the hangar.

[member="Emma Prinn"]

[member="Alask Diruno"]

[member="Kyber Salurra"]

[member="Thryykarr"]

Kyber drank his beer as he nodded at everyone's greetings. After they wet all done and we're walking out Kyber thought he'd mention a few things "If we're headed to Republic Space to Salvage I can use a little bit of my standing to help us, through. I'm not with the Mandalorians, I'm a Sergeant in the Republic. Also, just Kyber is fine... Being called Master Salurra doesn't feel right." Kyber would continue to sip his beer as they walked towards the ship.

// [member="Lenix Ornil"] // [member="Emma Prinn"] // [member="Alask Diruno"] // [member="Thryykarr"] //

When she spoke up and moved her finger above his head, he just ignored it and turned to walked towards the hangar or wherever the Captain's ship was. Alask was keeping an eye out along with his force. He wasn't a fan of Jedi nor sith but that didn't mean he had to judge them so quickly. Any force user should be able to tell what alignment another is unless they're concealing it which he was just for safety. These people didn't seem bad though.

[member="Emma Prinn"] [member="Lenix Ornil"] [member="Thryykarr"] [member="Kyber Salurra"]

Thryk just shrugged, picked up the keg that was behind the bar, and yanked it free. Throwing a pile of credits at the barkeep, he got up. Then a slight problem dawned on him that hadn't seemed like an issue before. He asked, "Captain, d'you have some way to slave my shuttle to your ship? I'll be damned if I'm leaving that pretty bird in the hands of these people. Also, having a licensed Mandalorian ship along may legitimize the appearance of an independent flying around."

He shrugged again, and continued, "If you can't slave it, I'll just fly tandem, maybe with ner vod Salurra to man the guns. Or you, Miss Prinn, to give me the jumps I'm making."
