PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Following orders. The motto of men like Saltare. However, Saltare has risen through the ranks due to his quick, and often outside the box way of thinking. Loyal to a fault, he follows the Empire with the zeal of any hardcore imperial. Glory to the Empire. That's all he knows, and he will have no one question his loyalty; or try to ruin the image of the Empire he has in his head.

While he moves with the confidence of a veteran, his emotional depth sets him apart. Saltare doesn't just fight for orders; he carries with him a quiet sense of obligation to those who serve under him. He believes in protecting his squad, even if it means bending the rigid Imperial code.

Saltare has one weakness though, one crack in his otherwise unstained armor, his family.

HISTORY

Saltare Dothon, a human male in his early thirties, stands as a product of discipline and survival. Born on the Outer Rim world of Shiva, Saltare's early life was marked by hardship. His family scraped by as dockworkers in the bustling shadow of the planet's smuggling and mercenary economy. The local gangs kept everyone under a brutal heel and life was anything but stable. Saltare's parents instilled in him a strong sense of duty to his family and himself.

During his early years the Alliance came to free Shiva from the grips of the local gangs. An unknown Jedi and his posse of soldiers landed near Saltare's village on Shiva to liberate the world in the name of "democracy". The battle that ensued over his village, and most of Shiva, cost Saltare his parents life; as he found their bodies amongst the wreckage of their family home. He could find no bodies of his siblings, but feared they had been casualties of the war. The Jedi left soon after arriving, leaving the locals to rebuild with no help after the devastating battle that leveled most of their village. Saltare would have been happy from being out beneath the boot of the gangs, but he had no one.

Until the Empire arrived.

Starships big enough to see in the nightsky descended as if from heaven, bringing aid. Supplies, soldiers, vehicles, transports, ships, doctors, and anything else a fledgling world would need to survive. The Empire saved Shiva, and by extension, Saltare.

Saltare joined the Imperial Army soon after at 16, drawn by the promise of steady meals and a way off-world. He didn't need to lie about his age to the recruiter, the man knew his situation and offered him a way to get back at those who had wronged him.

Basic training transformed him from a scrappy survivor into a disciplined soldier. His instructors noted his unwavering focus and capacity to endure grueling conditions, traits that earned him a posting in the 105th Legion, nicknamed the "Iron March." Over the next decade, he rose to the rank of Sergeant, serving in campaigns across the galaxy.

Saltare never stopped looking for his siblings, but he never had success in finding anything; be it clues or a rumor. During these searches he did find one thing he was not searching for, a woman. This woman changed Saltare for the better, and with her he started a family.

Saltare believes he owes everything he has to the Empire, from his wife and children to the hair on his head. He is a staunch believer in the Empire, and woe to the being who attempts to dislodge that belief.
