RATIONALE:

For many years, Ty’rel was one of the largest conglomerates in the Galaxy. Alone or through its subsidiaries, it produced anything and everything. One such subsidiary was the Saiba Group, which handled droids, weaponry, and experimental technology.

A change in strategy, the brainchild of Ty’rel CEO Darell Irani, resulted in Ty’rel’s dissolution. The immense corporation was taken apart, piece by piece, and sold to numerous entities across the Galaxy for the highest profit margins.

The Saiba Group and a few other subsidiaries were kept out of those transactions. Saiba lost roughly 50% of its production capacity in terms of facilities, but managed to stay afloat with money being pumped in from outside sources.

Another subsidiary of Ty’rel Holdings, Excelsior Aerospace, was less lucky in the process. It lost most of its shipyards and the remnants were absorbed into the Saiba Collective.

DESCRIPTION:

The Saiba Group is a conglomerate of various divisions working closely with one another to maximize the efficiency, output and reach of their production. Divisions consist of primary project leaders with dedicated teams working beneath them. Most of these divisions are grouped together into different sections, which links back to the various operations of the company.

After the dissolution of the Ty’rel Holdings, Saiba Group had to lay off several locations for reasons that publically are stated as ‘downsizing’. But truthfully it is more an attempt to make efficient use of the space given, instead of spreading themselves thin across the galaxy - something they cannot afford any longer without the protection of a huge sprawling conglomerate such as Ty’rel. They now focus on a few core systems throughout the Galaxy and increase their presence there.

They operate several extensive shipyards in the Hypori System and Duro System, though a new and ongoing project looks to create a third major shipyard in the near future.

The Hypori System contains extensive shipyards, and the planet itself holds numerous foundries and factories for manufacturing. The Kamino System also holds several manufacturing facilities, but Saiba’s presence is mostly focused around the R&D branch of the company. At the Kamino facilities, Saiba develops experimental technology in weaponry, biochemistry and cybernetics.

The Duro System also holds extensive shipyards to complement the ones in Hypori, and the planet of Duro hosts various manufacturing plants for increased output in that sector of the Galaxy. The Nevoota system contains the planet of Balmorra, which is primarily a factory world, while the Sartinaynian System (Bastion) is the first stepping stone to an increased presence within the Primeval worlds.

In the Sluis Van System, Saiba owns space on the extensive shipyards for refitting and refueling purposes, but nothing as extensive as the other locations it employs in terms of shipyards.
