Strengths:
  • Ati-Capital: The heavy torpedo launchers on the prow of the ship make it force to be reckoned with, allowing the small craft to badly damage ship much larger then it. Though such tends to make the craft a glass cannon as it the only real way of attacking the ship has.
  • Tough Guy: The prow of the ship is arguably the stronger and most well protected section of the ship due to it's shape and coating makes it able to shrug off some heavy attacks. Along with several other components to make sturdier it does not suffer from a lack in defense that other small ships may have.
  • Sensor Masking: With the addition of a sensor masker and other similar devices the small destroyer is able to get that extra closer to a target before being locked onto. This provides the much needed time to drop it's payload and get away from enemy fire.
Weaknesses:
  • Swam Fighters: Having only one anti-star fighter battery the craft is very weak against enemy bombers and lighter craft that can easily avoid it's torpedo tubes.
  • Limited Ammunition: Once the craft exhaust its supply of torpedoes the ships is not much use in a heated battle. While able to provide some screening against enemy attacks it's sever lack of other weapons makes it
DESCRIPTION

History of Development:
With an all round corvette and decent ship of the line frigate the Tythish navy also looked to include a craft with a more specified role to deal with certain threats. The ship was to be fast and easy to maneuver and poised mainly to deal with capital ships (frigates and up). The design though had to skim on other aspect from previously made, such being the heavy defenses along with any real anti-star fighter weapons.

Though still usable in full scale combat the Sagitta was mainly developed to be a sort of patrol ship that could help back up the Pattuglia corvette if it were to engage a ship out side it combat capabilities. Even such it quickly became a standard ship to be used in the navy for quick hit and run tactics for larger capital ship as a way to lower their shield or deliver a crippling blow once damaged enough.

Operational Use:
When put into action it is recommended to have the Sagitta paired with another of it's kind or some other ship (more so when taking on larger capital craft), or put in a supporting role for another craft that may be in need of help. The small size and nimble nature makes them more then capable of seeking shelter with lager ship and often not seem as much of a threat to larger vessels.

Though if able to fire their deadly torpedoes become a decent barrier, when deployed on the flanks of enemy formations such being even more noticeable. In this role the Sagitta can be used to cripple enemy engines or go after command bridges and other key locations. Though it should be noted that this craft is not on top operate on it's own and should always have some sort of fighter escort of corvette protection to keep smaller craft from attacking it.

Bear in mind that this doesn't do anything for visual detection or aiming, but it may help with particularly automated weapons from immediately or accurately hitting it in certain instances.
