The Scintilla was in crisis.

An economic, criminal, military, religious, and ideological crisis had turned the jewel of the Unknown Regions into a pit of unrest. In the midst of an epidemic of gang activity within the slums and urban underworlds of the Scintilla, protests, riots, and revolutions fermented in the streets, each driven by leaders professing varying degrees of radicalism, including those who questioned the seemingly infallible status of Discordia and the ostensibly cult-like worship of her image amongst the more radical sects, including the Silencers and their subordinate Eight Arrows sect.

While such irreverent blasphemy was calmly tolerated by the more secular groups within the Agents of Chaos, ultimately, the Silencers and the Eight Arrows maintained close tabs on them, building up a network of informants within the revolutionary parties in order to ensure that they were not developing plans to undermine the Dark Lady of Chaos. While these spy networks were initially thought to be unnecessary, especially by many of the less-religiously inclined figures in the Agents of Chaos, it did not take long for them to yield a threat, in the form of a plot hatched within the upper ranks of Concord of Retribution. The objective of the Concord’s plan was to capture Discordia, and then execute her in a live broadcast over the HoloNet in an undoubtedly futile effort to “prove” that the Dark Lady is not a divine entity.

In hatching the plan, the Concord of Retribution had unknowingly spelled out the letters of their own doom.

The Silencers and their sister sect, the Eight Arrows, only waited long enough to gather concrete evidence of the Concord’s plot before acting on the revelations revealed by their spies. Skipping over the secular leadership council of the Agents of Chaos entirely, the Grand Abbess of the Eight Arrows Sect, Fàn Jia Li, received authorization to carry out the operation directly from Discordia. Then, with the Dark Lady’s assistance, a contingent of Silencer assassins, Eight Arrow sisters, elite Wild Hunt assets, and mercenary operatives was assembled to destroy the Concord of Retribution, with the secondary objective of sending a warning to the revolutionary parties of the Scintilla which were seizing upon the unrest that sacrilege of her name would not be tolerated.

The primary base of the Concord of Retribution is located deep within the wild sphere of Andra I, in the Eastern forest. Since the initiation of the plot to capture and publicly execute Discordia, the party has become justifiably paranoid, and as such, has hired a sizable company of Ailon Nova Guard mercenaries to supplement the Concord’s armed militia. The raid on the base has been timed to coincide with a formal meeting of the Concord’s standing committee, of which virtually all members of the party’s leadership will be present. The objective will be to assassinate all of them, in addition to razing the base. However, in the event that taking out all members of the leadership is not possible, the team is instructed to prioritize assassinating Glie Bondara, a male Rutian Twi’lek who is the Concord’s general secretary and the official leader of the party. In order to accomplish the objective, it is imperative to quickly gain control over the mainframe, so that the team’s slicer can hack into the base and seal off the exits. Infiltration into the base will be via an underground escape and engineering tunnel, the entrance of which is located at a designated rendezvous point outside of the Concord's base.
This narrative is concurrent with the events in The Room Where It Happens | Agents of Chaos. As such, characters who are taking part in that thread should not be in this one, with exceptions for IC communication and other story events detailing interaction between the diplomats and the contingent engaging the Concord of Retribution.

Prayer on the eve of battle would see to victory.

As a sister of the Eight Arrows sect, her time was spent in near-constant prayer and training. However, while she engaged in the two activities very frequently, they were ultimately not what a sister of the sect lived for. They were only a means to an end, one of cultivating a deep connection to the Dark Lady of Chaos and of building the mind, body, and soul towards divine perfection.

In pursuing divine perfection, a sister was more capable in serving Discordia’s divine mission and in exacting the Dark Lady’s vengeance upon her enemies, when necessary. The Concord of Retribution, in devising the ostensibly classified plot to capture and publicly execute Discorida, had placed themselves into that reviled category.

And so, the Dark Lady’s vengeance came for the Concord just as they were on the eve of initiating their heretical plan.

The small, yet elite hand-picked team, assembled by the Grand Abbess of the Eight Arrows sect and Discordia herself, approached the Concord’s base with only the cover of the forest to conceal their approach. While a night time attack would have been preferred, their primary objective of assassinating all members of the Concord’s standing committee was only possible during the day. There was a short window of time where all ten members of the committee would be in a single room, meeting presumably to brief the final details of their plan before its execution.

Little did they know that one of the general secretary’s most trusted attendants had betrayed them to the Silencers.

Chassella was the first to arrive at the designated rendezvous point less than three-hundred meters outside of the base. With a deep breath, the diminutive disciple activated her No-Show and waited for the rest of the team to arrive. From there, the team would infiltrate the compound via the underground escape tunnel, which would take them on a direct route to the inside of the base. While the intelligence had stated that there would be very few armed guards inside of the tunnel, once the targets were taken out, a successful extraction would likely require engaging the Concord’s armed militia and mercenary assets.

After activating her No-Show, the diminutive assassin took a deep breath and closed her eyes in meditation as she waited for the rest of the team to reach the rendezvous point.

Nighthaunter had been on clean up duty ever since he had gotten back to the Scintilla. If he was honest he had rather enjoyed it, bathing in blood of Discordia's enemies only made him more radical in his faith. So when he had been told about the growing heresy against Discordia within the Scintilla, he had been none to happy when he had heard the Silencers were finally going to do something about it. They were going to combine with their sister organization the Eight Arrows Sect, to remove this heresy at his source. He had been told by the First Chaplain to meet at the rendezvous point and from there they were going to send a message against all those who thought to stray from the one true faith of Discordia. Nighthaunter silently made his way across the rooftops hugging the shadows as he made his way towards the Rendezvous point. Since the gang war he had gathered a growing reputation among those of the criminal scum that had made the Scintilla their home. His fear tactics and no limits fighting style had meant that had the Concord known that this strike was coming they would have for sure vacated the premises and gone underground. But luckily for the Agents they were completely unaware and this was their one chance eliminate as many heretics as possible, and in the most violent way possible. As this was not just about eliminating heresy within the Scintilla but sending a message to those that would dare oppose Discordia's divinity. As he got close to the Rendezvous point he saw a woman praying where they were supposed to meet. 'One of the sisters most likely' he thought to himself as he silently dropped down behind her and walked over to her.

"How goes it sister? praying for the battle ahead?" He asked in a voice that was barely a whisper as he stood beside the kneeling sister. He towered over her like a massive shadow. However, he knew that although this sister may be diminutive in stature she was an elite killer and not one to be underestimated. He did not envy those that had had the displeasure to underestimate this small woman. He was sure many had made that had made that mistake did not live to regret it. As he waited for a response he reflexively flexed his wrists and felt the familiar feeling of his Silent Blades slide across his palms as they exited his gauntlet.

Sitting upon the ground on her knees, the legs of the Sith Lord resting comfortably underneath and eyes shut firmly tight, she called to her the swirling unseen energies from the Dark Side of the Force. She didn't pray, except to her patron Goddess whose name was not for feeble ears, but meditated in preparation for coming events. She didn't possess that tool of seeing the future, and if she did there was little faith she held for such visions. The future, the definition from which her life had been transformed by, was far more capable of inducing her anger than hearing any other word in the known language of Galactic Basic. It was through her own darkened ritualistic meditation that she found the proper guidance to slay the enemies who now harbored misguided illusions. She didn't need a reason to kill, but her former and long dead Mentor taught her to kill with passion rather than with vengeance or uncontrollable hatred. Anyone can kill he once told her, but not everyone can paint a masterpiece using only one color. At the time, she didn't understand but she was young then; and now, now she fully understood.

All around her the Felacat could sense the other's needs to strike quickly, cutting out the hearts of the Concord for their heretic beliefs. They sought to destroy, but it was their foolish minds and tunnel visions that would now be the Concord's undoing. They would be slaughtered. No mercy granted. They had sinned and judgment was forthcoming. The Sith Lord would would stalk and hunt them like an angel of Death, each one felled by her hands finding serenity from her dark blessings.

Her tail, dancing behind her slowly, moved to her lone lightsaber hilt that rested next to her. The weapon was unnaturally uncomfortable in her hands, for it once belonged to another Sith Lord, her mentor and master, and though it served her well to date; it failed to reflect who she was, and succeeded in reminding her of painful memories. The tail gripped the hilt and brought it just over Mikilanna's left shoulder; hovering over her like a phantom. Her cat eyes began to flutter open whilst she reached up and took the proffered weapon. The time was drawing near, and so she rose up from her spot clipping the weapon to her belt and brushing away the dirt from her legs. She was ready.

Unlike most of her sisters in the sect, Chassella did not have a viable natural connection to the Force. She could not simply sense a person’s presence with the Force, via some arcane technique of precognition or telepathy. Nevertheless, the diminutive disciple was immediately disappointed in herself when she failed to recognize the Nighthaunter’s approach before her ears registered his voice. While the man was one of the most prolific and talented assassins in the Unknown Regions, along with Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter and the Paragon of Insanity, she could not help but to feel slightly inadequate, if not entirely incompetent. Her teachers had told her many times before that she had potential, but there were many times where she nonetheless felt like a failure, especially when seeing her Force-sensitive sisters put their awe-inspiring powers on display. One of the sisters who she had graduated from her initiation trials with had developed into a talented pyromancer, capable of manipulating fire to extreme and breathtaking effect.

In seeing her sister display her powers, Chassella could not help but to feel as if her teachers were lying to her.

With a deep breath, Chassella stood up and turned towards the Nighthaunter, before giving the Silencer a respectful bow. It was only then that she noticed the presence of the Felacatian. Giving the woman a brief nod of respectful acknowledgement, Chassella followed her lead and took two of her chakrams from her back, deactivated save for their integrated gravitational field disruptors but nonetheless ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

“Not a battle. A cleansing.” The assassin answered softly, in an implacably cold tone. "One that has waited for too long.”

Then, her features took on a dark and intensely focused expression as she stalked over to the location of the manhole that led into the underground tunnel. There was no need for a re-briefing or a review of the plan, as everyone there knew what their objective was and how they would execute it. Chassella had studied the map of the Concord base and the area surrounding it for hours in the days leading up to the mission. She had committed the area to memory via pictures and recordings taken by the spy and passed on to the Silencers. While the priestess-disciple could already recognize many of the landmarks from outside the base, she was intimately aware of the fact that things could be radically different from the intelligence that she had studied. Even so, the words of one of her teachers rang in her mind, telling her that she would never regret being prepared for the expected, even if she ended up facing the unexpected.

Taking extra care not to make any noise as she gently pushed aside the foliage that was concealing the manhole, Chassella keyed the pass code that the spy had given them into the hidden terminal. Then, once the manhole cover automatically slid open, she glanced at Nighthaunter and the Felacatian before climbing down the ladder and into the dark depths of the tunnel...

Nighthaunter could tell that he had slightly frightened the small assassin with his stealthy approach. However, despite her demeanor it was clear that she was somewhat disappointed in herself that she didn't recognize his approach before he spoke. What she didn't know is that he vaguely recognized her as she stood up. He could remember seeing her training when he visited the Eight Arrows Sect on occasion. From what he had heard, her teachers had waxed lyrical about her despite her lack of ability in the force. If he was honest this made him respect her more. As a fellow non force user he knew how difficult it was to become one of the elite of the elite when you didn't have access to such a powerful tool as the force. Even though he didn't know the diminutive assassin by name he assumed she knew his. Most of the people associated with the Silencers knew who he was, and this was confirmed when the small woman bowed to him. He nodded simply in response to her, he appreciated her respect towards him, even if she was in some way a part of a different organization.

'A cleansing, that is one way to put it.' He thought to himself, he decided that he was going to keep what he was going to do to the leader of the Covenant to himself as the others may disapprove. He also took note of the Felacat's presence, he immediately gave her a brief nod as he scanned her appearance. He took note of the lightsaber, and from it assumed that the other Silencer was a force user. Given the details of the mission it probably a good idea that at least one of them knew how to use the force. He watched as the small female assassin scraped away at foliage to find the manhole cover, and keyed the passcode into the terminal. He watched as she disappeared down the tunnel. He took one last breath of clean fresh air and followed Chassella Chassella down the dark hole in the ground.

The years of isolation from which she had spent her teen years into her adult years had robbed the Sith of social interaction. When the other two Silencers gave her a nod, she could only reply in kind. Mikilanna spoke very few words, but when she did those verbal responses held both an eerie and cryptic undertone. For the Sith, actions spoke louder than words. She followed the other two through the foliage, carefully avoiding making any detectable sounds. The mission's success depended on secrecy and stealth. When they reached the manhole, located exactly as the spy had promised, Mikilanna wondered if perhaps traps or betrayals awaited the trio in the underground tunnels. She was not one to trust so easily and quickly, assuming everyone possessed agendas where a small tactical betrayal would prove beneficial.

With observing eyes, Mikilanna scanned the area for any signs of trouble whilst the first two assassins disappeared via the opened manhole. Then, after the others reached the ground, she lept down into the manhole while using the Force to seal the cover back over the opened hole; ensuring the trio's tracks were covered. Whilst her body made that short descent into the tunnels, her cat eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness; allowing the assassin to see far better than her comrades. There was no apparent dangers awaiting them, so she nodded to her partners to continue forward.

The initial stage of the walk through the tunnel was very quiet, to the point where Chassella began to wonder if the Concord’s standing committee had been warned in advance of the attack and evacuated just before the trio of assassins arrived. However, while she had a feeling that they were walking into a trap, it was just that. Beyond the silence and the lack of armed guards within the tunnel, she had no evidence to support that. It might have been different if she were Force-sensitive and could rely on her feelings as a form of precognition, but she wasn’t. And so, she pressed on, following behind the Felacatian Silencer as she led the way through.

A few moments later, after the group walked a little more than one-hundred meters, Chassella sensitive ears picked up footsteps from behind a corner that was roughly twenty-five meters in front of the group and she immediately held her hand up to signal a halt. Less than three seconds later, a half-dozen figures emerged, who were ostensibly not yet aware of the assassins in their midst given the playful tone of their conversation. With their distinctive red blast armor and blaster rifles, Chassella immediately knew that they were members of the Concord’s party militia. While they were not as heavily armed or armored as the intelligence had suggested of the mercenaries that were within the compound, it would still be very difficult to dispatch them without raising the alarm, given their number.

Any thought of slipping past them was rendered moot, as the guards were directly in the trio’s way. In addition, their route was taking them towards the position of the assassins, meaning that the assassins had a very short window to capitalize on the element of surprise, before the guards detected them.

After lending an implicit glance of understanding to Nighthaunter and the Felacatian, Chassella powered on her chakrams and made the first move.

The diminutive assassin-priestess set her sights on the furthest one, who was also the closest to the corner the militia had come from, which would presumably give him the best chance of escape. For anyone else, it would have been a difficult throw given the distance, but Chassella possessed an accurate hand, which was further augmented by the fact that her chakrams were attuned to her, allowing her to guide them in flight even after they had been thrown. And so, Chassella tossed her chakram at her target’s neck. Then, not a second later, the circular blade severed the man’s head from his body in a violently surgical arc, to such a precise degree that the man’s body was left standing for a few devastating seconds, allowing his shocked companions plenty of time to take in the sight of their comrade’s decapitated, yet nonetheless still-standing body before it fell to the ground with a surprisingly dense thud.

For the Nighthaunter and the Felacatian, the initial shock of the attack afforded them enough time to close the distance to emerge amidst the militia with their blades drawn and set on a course to draw blood...

The trio moved through the darkened tunnel, dark to her companions but illuminated to her, toward their goal. So far, no unforeseen obstacles or predetermined ambushes awaited them, allowing the assassins to walk unchallenged. Suddenly, a twinge in the Force alerted the Sith whilst simultaneously the other female assassin picked up on something; evident by her halting the group. From nearby six guards, lightly armed and completely unaware they were sharing these tunnels with assassins, emerged and engaged in playful jests and conversations.

It was unsaid between the three that they needed to get past these guards silently as possible, less they raised the whole compound to their presence. To Mikilanna's surprise, the female assassin struck first; severing the head of one guard. The incident was not only impressive, but stalled the remaining five from acting. Seizing the opportunity herself, Mikilanna reached into the darkest depths of the Dark Side of the Force clamping strong, invisible hands around two of the guard's throats. Panic attacked, the two guards gripped frantically at unseen hands; feeling their tracheas slowly begin to collapse, the airflow to lungs methodically having their valves twisted shut. Suddenly, the Sith assassin thrusted both guards upward, slamming their heads into the tunnel ceiling with enough force that skulls cracked and splintered, necks snapped and popped.

Turning her own head toward the other three guards, her cold, predatory eyes transfixed on them; holding suspended in the air the lifeless corpses of their comrades. Through the Force, she felt the familiar and soothing fear radiating off them, basking in the horrors painted masterfully upon strickened faces. The visions they were forced to endure paralyzed them, robbing them of the moment to flee. Then, without warning, she released her hold on the dead guards, retrieving her hilt from her waist side as they crashed with a wet and sickening thud on the tunnel's floor. Igniting her lone lightsaber, the crimson blade hissed and echoed in the tunnel; casting illusionary shadows of their deaths upon the walls she implanted in the three guard's minds.
