A clash he had received, to his favor it was not. For the Chiss before him was strong in the Force. It spoke through the Jedi like a song of fates. With his lightsaber trapped, one would think that would be the end. It was one of the weaknesses of the Makashi style as Rath saw the leg swinging towards his left side. Instead of retreating, instead of yielding.

The dark jedi stepped forward close and personal to the master before the kick could get the full force built up. The knee connected his ribs against the hard plates of druetium, and in one fell swoop Rath trapped the Chiss's leg by catching it with his left empty hand. Simultaneously Rath would channel the Force with his own leg, not to crush but to simply trip the master on his one leg. To throw the master off balance as Rath would proceed to attempt to toss the master onto his back against the catwalk.

The former soldier took advantage of the fact that Rath kept his lightsaber in a locking position as the two blades of heat fused together at the point of contact. If the Chiss yielded then it could spell a deadly error, and yet Rath was already planning ahead in case he succeeded or not. His mind is guarded from the mind readers. For he could sense that something was probing his mind for his thoughts. Or perhaps it was merely to sense him, either way he felt someone had eyes on him.

It was senseless, inglorious, and something that seared into the back of her mind - a death. Life, extinguished, before they even had a chance to flourish. She could do nothing as a fighter pilot slammed head-first into the closing hangar door, consuming themselves in a ball of fire and sound, nothing as mere moments before as a veteran voice pleaded for the kid to divert course, power down, do anything. She could do nothing but feel the scorching needle of a loss on her mind, before the same voice of that leader brought her back.

"Sojourner, this is Green Leader. I read you loud and clear. Fall into the formation gap and follow my lead. Our main targets are enemy fighters and boarding crafts. Try to stay out of weapon range and engage at will. Watch your six. Over."
"U-Understood, Green Leader!" the Lasat barked back, damning this whole situation. Damning the pirates, damning the quiver of her voice, and damning herself for damning herself. Beviin, her drakeling companion, chittered to Geena, who warbled back in affirmation. Here and now, there would be battle, here and now, she would earn honor - if not for herself, then for the most recent soul sent to the Manda's embrace.

The lumbering patrol boat slid into the vacant location where the eighth member of Green Squadron should have occupied, before sending one last comm before the battle truly began, as fighters and landing craft dotted her radar. "Green Squadron, Sojourner patrol boat on your six, over."

Dravin took a moment to steady his breath, casting his gaze over the sprawling battlefield. The sight of cruisers, reminiscent of those he once combated in his old Liberator starfighters during the station's initial siege, sparked a blend of nostalgia and somber reflection. He recalled his first mission under the command of Entirr Mokuze Entirr Mokuze and the Wings of Judgement. Back then, his understanding of starfighters was limited at best, and the memory of losing his entire squadron in that harrowing battle lingered painfully. Now leading another squadron, Dravin faced the grim reality of losing comrades mission after mission.

Shaking off these reflections, his focus sharpened at Kebii'kara Solus Kebii'kara Solus 's voice over the comms. The sight of boarding crafts targeting dock 4, a commercial hub with scant military protection, ignited a fierce determination within him. The potential harm to innocents at the hands of pirates fueled his resolve.

With a decisive maneuver, Dravin veered left in a sharp turn, his modified Phoenix L-3 interceptor outpacing the standard models flown by his squadron. "Green Wings, stay alert and monitor the enemy fighters. Keep an eye on your shields and hull integrity. We can endure some hits, but prioritize the boarding crafts. Retreat and let your hull repair itself and shields rechsrge if your hull integrity falls below 60%. Re-engage only when at 80% or above. We have the speed advantage. Sojourner, your focus is on intercepting enemy fighters targeting our team. Provide cover and disengage any threats from their tail. Confirm receipt."

Even as his leg was swinging towards the figure's side, the intruder stepped forth, not letting Zinayn's kick build up much power. The only feedback the Chiss got of his kick landing was sharp pain radiating through his shin. That would leave a bruise. Or a broken bone. To make matters worse, the Dark Jedi grabbed ahold of his leg, preventing him from drawing it back. He was stuck. With a counterattack coming at him in the form of a low, sweeping kick.

He shook his head mentally. How had he gotten here? His lightsaber was locked against the opponent's, and drawing away would mean a quick death. His right leg was trapped in the intruder's firm lock, and the only thing he had left was his left leg, which was being targeted currently by the counterattack.

All this sitting around the station and teaching had left him soft. There was no better time to shake off the rust.

Taking a hand off of his hilt, he flicked his wrist to aim at the figure. Point blank, he channeled the Force into his hand, creating a glowing, crackling orb of kinetic energy . Then, he aimed to slam it into the Dark Jedi's chest, hoping to send them flying backwards.

At the same time, he steeled his left leg for the impact of the kick.

Wow. That hurt. The Dark Jedi's counterattack was stopped right at the side of Zinayn's lower leg. If he hadn't prepared himself, the kick would have continued through and tripped the Chiss, leaving him on the ground, practically defenseless. In this case, the pain was worth it.

This time it was the Force that screamed at Rath. To warn him of what was to come. For he could sense the energy built up near instantaneously within the Chiss before him. There were a number of ways such as erecting a last minute barrier of kinetic energy to dampen the impact, but then Rath would be wasting energy at that point. Other routes would’ve ended in the same way. So there was really only one option left for him to do, and that was to use the very energy that was slowly restarting within the station.

Zinayn’s blast of kinetic energy struck against the warrior’s core as the chestpiece of druetium soaked up some of the impact, but Rath still felt the impact knock some of the wind out of his sails. Or basically knocked the air out of lungs as the Dark Jedi was thrown back with an audible groan. However, Rath foresaw this moment as he channeled the Force within his body. The dark warrior flipped his form so that he may land on his feet, except he channeled the rage, the fear, and killing intentions within the Aurora Station’s crew into a singular blast of kinetic energy slammed into the catwalk and deeper into the station.

The impact shook the station at its core as it violently shook with a very audible thunderous crackling of metal screeching could be heard. Likewise, the impact would’ve shattered the bearings that kept the catwalk suspended over the power chamber, leaving the Master little time to retreat before the collapse. The metal screeching was the result of the heavy doors that once restricted access had been ripped open like something had gotten out of the chamber. For Rath had simply used the backlash of the abundant kinetic energy to launch himself through another doorway at high speed, and to which he had to kinetically rend the door open.

The kinetite slammed into the intruder's chest, just as Zinayn hoped for. The figure was sent flying back, but regained their posture nonetheless, coming back down to land on their feet. Zinayn drew his blade back to a defensive position, hoping another blade lock would not occur.

However, it seemed this battle would not be as ... conventional as Zinayn had hoped. The Force-user reached out a hand, and the Chiss barely had time to brace himself for the great surge of power radiating from the being. He leapt back, into the corridor from which he came, just as the catwalk gave way beneath him. The Gray Jedi watched it clatter down towards the hives of generators (thankfully offline) below.

Then he looked up at the intruder, who was hurtling across the large chamber in the opposite direction. He slammed straight through a durasteel blast door and into the corridor beyond. That must have hurt. But the pain was probably out of the person's mind, given that Zinayn was now far away from them, and escape should be easy.

He grumbled. These were the times in which he wished Aurora Station had laser gates.

The Chiss stared across the core of the station, toward the doors which had been blasted open like playthings. He had to catch the intruder. But leaping across the gap would only leave him dead. Either at the bottom of the pit, or in the corridor, slashed to pieces.

Zinayn went to fish out his comlink from his robes... but it wasn't there. Kriff. He'd forgotten that, in such a rush to find the dark source of aura, he'd left his comm in his quarters. So there was no way for him to tell station control to shut down the lifts.

Oh well. He'd have to play a little game of cat and mouse. Mentally locking onto the intruder's Force signature, he took off at a run away from the chamber, through the labyrinth of corridors, to try and find a path that would lead him to the being.

"Acknowledged, Green Leader." the Lasat exhaled. There would be time to mourn later, for now, the patrol boat had a duty. Lurching on the six of the wedge-shaped formation, the lumbering craft readied the weapons system, astromech dutifully calculated the piloting path against the enemy fighters that would harry her friends, and Beviin coiled around Kebii for moral support. She closed her eyes, flying not by eyes, but with the trained reflexes of her people and the Force themself to guide her.

"Nine o'clock, Green Three." She spoke to no one in particular as the fiery bolt of death sent a pirate fighter straight to hell.

Dravin led his squadron with precision, their laser cannons relentlessly striking one enemy transport after another. With each target demolished, they swiftly moved on, decimating the opposition until a pivotal moment. Dravin targeted the engine bays of a transport, sending the damaged vessel spinning past the ray shield barrier. It crashed against the station's hull, sliding across the durasteel surface in a dramatic halt. As the fighters approached the dock, they peeled away one by one, following Dravin's command over the radio. "Break, break! Regroup and turn around, Green Squadron. We've done what we could here. Our next objective is the enemy fleet. Increase power to engines. Focus on their turret bays and aim to neutralize their offensive capabilities."

It was uncanny how silent and sure the lumbering patrol boat could be in the vacuum of space. The slight turbulence of a near-miss turbolaser, while the Sojourner answered with death - death either in an immediate riposte to crack into the pirate fighter, or a predatory pounce whenever a pirate felt too secure in harrying the Aurora Station. Without a sound, the Sojourner finished off the remaining boarding vessels, ever in the shadow of Green Squadron, continuing to sputter out plasma to counter the desperate attempt of the invaders to stop Aurora Station and her defenders from rendering the pirate flotilla slag.
