DESCRIPTION
The S2 Field Medic Droid isn’t here to perform a life-saving operation. It’s not here to cure you of your flesh-eating disease (unless the cure is to slice off the afflicted limb, in which case, bite down on this) or remove your brain tumor. It’s here to stabilize you in the hopes that you’ll be transported to a proper medical facility wherein better treatment is available, or just that you'll get back into the game. It’s there to stop you from dying, but not much else. Designed with the insights of Polis Massan experts and combat engineers from Cestus Cybernetics, the S2 combines advanced medical technology and sophisticated programming with durable armor for a medical droid guaranteed to reduce casualty rates in any setting.
The S2 comes pre-programmed with extensive knowledge of the biology and anatomy of the more frequently occurring galactic species. The S2 carries much of the same equipment as the impending S1, with the notable fact that the S2 is geared more towards fieldwork and less towards work in a proper medical setting. Unlike the S1, the S2 is not at all perturbed when operating under fire. Its powerful J1 droid brain allows it to render its aid service to organics quickly and decisively, with little room for error.
Once again, the S2 is not intended for complicated surgeries or procedures. It is intended for rudimentary first aid and so forth. This is largely the reason why it is able to function well under fire- its procedures are much less elaborate.
All S2s are programmed to place the sanctity of life above all else and are, by default, very compassionate and abhorrent towards all forms of violence. Users should be wary of allowing S2 units to go without quasi-frequent memory wipes. S2 units that do achieve sapience tend to become critical of the causes they serve, especially in situations wherein they serve the aggressor. They will also attempt to tend to all wounded, regardless of affiliation. Extreme cases will result in S2s deserting to serve as freelance medics on backwater and poverty stricken planets, or in the slums of more generally well-off planets.
