The girl lowered her head, looking away. A sign of defeat, but also resilience.

"The Light BLINDS you. There is no glory or success basking in it and the sooner you see that the better."

He walked across the hold to the ship's ramp, still down and letting faint snowflakes in that blew from outside.

"If you think all you Jedi can do is help others before helping yourselves, you need to take a long hard look at the curtain that is going to fall on you soon." He pointed to the exit. "You go back to Voss, and you think on what you have failed to do today. Think on where your destiny lies, and if you see the Heavenshields then you tell them that I am coming for them."

Connor didn't move as he watched her look at the wall.

Valae's eyes grew narrow, and her lips pressed together into a frown. As far as she was concerned, she was not the one that had been blinded. There was no shame in being selfless and caring for others. But when the darkness covered one's eyes and pieced one's heart, that side of life was lost. Indeed she would go back to Voss, and she would ponder this meeting. However, she would not count it as a failure -- as Connor Harrison had suggested.

"Very well," She said and backed up towards the ramp.

For a few moments, she did not let her gaze leave him. She was unwilling to turn her back too soon. As he wished, Valae would carry his warning back to her master and his family.

"I suppose this is goodbye," She spoke, taking a last look at the man.

The Connor Harrison that lived in the memories of so many Silver Jedi was gone. It was a sad thing, too. The Silver Jedi would be on watch now, their former ally had turned foe. With that, Valae walked back out into the cold night air. And moments later, her form would disappear in the direction of her ship. Her craft was damaged, but she would hold it together until she reached home.

There was a sneaking suspicion, she doubted this was the last she would see of the strange shadow of Master Harrison.
