Ryssa Uranne
Character
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Ryssa Uranne is a bright, energetic young woman with tousled blonde hair usually tucked beneath a worn pilot cap. Her warm, expressive eyes often carry a hint of curiosity—or confusion—depending on the situation. She favors a cropped yellow mechanic-style jacket modified with light starship padding, a red top beneath, and fitted utility shorts with a low-slung tool belt.
Her outfit blends practicality with personal flair: thigh-high boots reinforced with light plating, fingerless gloves, and a pair of goggles often resting around her neck. While clearly inspired by her mechanic roots, her gear has been lightly adapted for piloting duty—integrated comms, a compact datapad clipped to her belt, and subtle nav-interface gloves.
She almost always smells faintly of engine grease and cheap Denon street food.
INVENTORY
• Ghtroc 720 Freighter — “Starlace Runner” (custom silver and pink paint job, lovingly maintained but questionably modified)
• Astromech Droid — R4-L3X (“Lix”) — chatty, slightly sassy, and constantly correcting Ryssa’s math (often ignored)
• Pilot headset with integrated commlink
• Tool belt (hydrospanner, fusion cutter, diagnostic probe)
• Compact datapad with basic navigation software
• Emergency blaster pistol (rarely used, often misplaced)
• Lucky charm from Denon (small gear-shaped pendant)
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Ryssa is cheerful, innocent, and endearingly ditzy. She approaches life with an almost unshakable optimism, often assuming the best in people—even when she absolutely shouldn’t. While not unintelligent, she tends to get easily distracted, forget important details, and occasionally misinterpret very obvious danger signals.
Despite this, she possesses a natural kindness that draws people to her. She believes strongly in helping others, even if it gets her into trouble, and has a habit of taking on jobs simply because “someone needed help.”
When it comes to ships, however, her demeanor changes. Ryssa has an intuitive, almost instinctual connection with machinery and piloting. While she may forget names, dates, or cargo manifests, she never forgets how a ship feels—and trusts that instinct above all else.
She believes flying is freedom. Everything else is just… details.
STRENGTHS
• Natural Pilot — Exceptional reflexes and instinctive spatial awareness while flying

• Optimistic Resilience — Bounces back quickly from setbacks, rarely stays discouraged
WEAKNESSES
• Ditzy / Forgetful — Frequently overlooks important details, directions, or dangers
• Naive — Easily trusting, making her vulnerable to manipulation or scams
• Poor Combat Skills — Minimal training with weapons and little tactical awareness
• Easily Distracted — Can lose focus at critical moments unless actively piloting
HISTORY
Born and raised on the bustling ecumenopolis of Denon, Ryssa Uranne grew up surrounded by noise, speed, and constant motion. Her early life was spent in and around repair bays and transport docks, where she picked up mechanical skills simply by being present—and asking far too many questions.
She never had formal training, but her natural aptitude quickly became obvious. Older mechanics would often find their work mysteriously “fixed” overnight, sometimes better than before, sometimes… creatively altered.
Her constant companion became an aging astromech unit she salvaged and repaired herself—R4-L3X, whom she affectionately calls “Lix.” While Lix handles calculations, navigation corrections, and the things Ryssa tends to forget, the droid has long since accepted that its pilot rarely listens the first time.
Her big break came when she managed to acquire a newly re-released Ghtroc 720 freighter. Through a combination of savings, luck, and possibly signing paperwork she didn’t fully understand, Ryssa became the proud owner of her very own ship—the Starlace Runner.
She immediately painted it silver and pink.
Since then, Ryssa has taken to the stars as an independent transport pilot. She takes on small cargo jobs, courier runs, and the occasional questionable contract—though she rarely realizes when something is “questionable” until it’s too late.
Despite close calls, missed turns, and more than one accidental detour into trouble, Ryssa continues flying with a smile—chasing the simple joy of being among the stars.
After all, as far as she’s concerned… if the ship’s flying, everything else will work itself out.
