SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Outlined in Strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths:
  • Power of the Blade: Forged with Ardanium this blade has a powerful energy surrounding it, amplified by a Uranium spine this blade hosts power in it's own right. Easily capable of holding it's own against a lightsaber or Sith Lightning.
  • Heart of the Blade: Embedded in the spine of the blade is a Kyber Crystal, capable of syncing with the host of the weapon and allowing him to imprint upon it, once the host has synced with the crystal the blade will respond only to him.
  • Blood of the Blade: Coated with Devaronian Blood Poison, this blade is extremely poisonous, even a touch of it's metal could leave a person horribly effected.
  • The Drain will take hold: Those touched by the Dark Side, who are far too weak to resist the powers of the blade can find themselves being very minimally drained by it's effects. Though this can only happen when in very close proximity to the weapon. Generally affects Acolyte level Force users.
  • Armor of the Blade {The Rune of Ara'maask}: The Primary rune affixed to this blade creates a protective barrier between the user and the weapon, halting the blades radioactive power from heavily afflicting the user.
  • Command of the Blade {The Rune of Myr Duxus}: Imbued with the magicks of Sith Alchemy, this blade possess a unique rune that allows the users abilities and power in the Dark Side to be slightly amplified.

Weaknesses:
  • Guard yourself well: Even with the protective barrier granted by the first rune, this blade is still extremely radioactive. While simply being around the blade will not harm the user, contact with it can lead to Radioactive poisoning {Causing the user to become horridly sick or even pass out}. Because of this fighting with the weapon in hand is recommended to be brief.
  • Master of the Dark Side: Only a true Master of the Dark Side of the Force could ever hope to handle this weapon, any other would find themselves mentally crippled if they attempted to handle the blade for too long.
  • Your Soul is Mine, we are one: The natural alignment of the blade is to the Dark Side of the Force. While the Kyber crystal within has to be imprinted on the blade itself will deny a user of neutral/light side alignment. Additionally once the blade has synced to the host {A process that takes anywhere from two to seven days, depending on the user's presence in the Force.} the user will begin to feel himself split between his physical body and the blade. Parting with the weapon for an extended time or the weapon's destruction can emotionally scar the user.
  • Dangerous to all: Even the user is susceptible to the sword's metallic poisoning, the runes only defending against the radioactive natures of the sword.
  • Bonded in Brotherhood: This blade's unique downfall is that in the event of death by either the user or the Forger of the blade, it will be rendered useless to the Force. Both of the runes will fail in power, it will be nothing more than an extremely radioactive sword.
  • An ox of a Blade: Because of the materials used in this weapon it is extremely heavy, making it slightly difficult to wield in battle, if one is on the weaker side.
  • The pestering of Ara'maask: Sacrificed to the blade an elder Dathari Acolyte's soul has been tethered to the weapon, plaguing the user so long as he keeps the weapon.
  • The howls of Myr Duxus: The second Dathari Acolyte sacrificed to grant the power of "command," Myr Duxus' is also trapped in the blade, yet his soul writhes in pain from the endless torture of the weapon's void.
  • The Dead withstand: Because of it's heavy nature in the Force most of the blade's powers are useless on those who are Force Dead.
  • The Pain of the Light: While the blade has a decent resistance, it is painfully submissive to the power of Force Light. If used against the blade it can not only render the weapon useless for several minutes, it can also disorient the bound user.
DESCRIPTION

For over a thousand years the Dathari Forge Masters of Morradon have practiced their greatest trade, the creation of weapon's bred through the Dark Side of the Force. Deep below the desolate surface of Morradon lies the great forge city of Velociton, home of the eerie Dathari. As all weapons do Rykste has a story unique to it's creation. That story begins with it's creator, Gael. As all the weapons forged by the Dathari, Rykste is in many ways imprinted on by the Dathari who forged it.

The Dathari half-blood prince, Gael Addock, was one of the first on Morradon to catch wind of a gathering Sith Empire. He approached his father, the King, insisting that Morradon swear it's allegiance to the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Yet, as it had been several times in the past the King refused to acknowledge the Dark Lord, saying that the weapons of Morradon were just that and the Sith Empire was not truly worthy of their gifts. Yet, it is the duty of the King to serve the Dark Lord of the Sith, regardless of his own wishes. Gael saw his father's inaction as a treason to the throne.

With the rise of the Sith at hand, Gael refused to face the wrath of the Dark Lord of the Sith. He believed that if the Sith Lord's ever rediscovered Morradon they would ask why the planet had not submitted to the rule of the one true Sith order. And in it's defiance the royal line would be ended.

Gael refused to allow such a fate to befall his house, so he took action, absent his father's permission. Since he too was of Dathari royal blood he was capable of working the Dark Forge of Morradon, and he planned to do just that. In an attempt to appease the Dark Lord and usurp his father he planned to forge a master blade, capable of wielding the powers the Dark Forge could bestow upon it.

But first he would need the materials needed to craft the blade. As all Dathari royals, Gael had been taught since a young boy how to craft a blade from the materials gathered by the viscous mineral gathers known as the Voktari. He waited patiently, inspecting every mineral and metal brought before him by the Voktari's harvester pods, yet none were acceptable to him. It was not until he found two metals, Ardanium and Uranium, that he became satisfied with his materials. He chose those metals because of their ability to produce and enhance a special radiation, that would act in place of the energy produced by a lightsaber.

As many other Dathari forgers the young Prince added a special poison to the blade, to increase it's lethality. Devaronian blood-poison was known to make a blade fearsome from but a single touch, let alone a cut.

The blade neared it's completion when Gael introduced a kyber crystal to the weapon's core. The crystal itself was not used to act as a power source of any kind, instead it was used to act as a link between the user and the blade itself. Gael hoped the powers of the Dark Forge could impose such a link.

It took the young Dathari several days to completely forge the blade worthy of the Dark Lord, but after several modifications he found a design fitting of a Lord of the Sith. Yet in his rush to create a blade as deadly as the Dark Side of the Force itself, he was too naive to realize he was creating a weapon just as likely to kill the user, as the enemy.

After a week had passed and Gael had assembled his weapon he turned to other Dathari Acolytes for help. Even as a user of the Dark Forge Gael would need help if he was to successfully imbue the weapon with runes of power.

Gael enlisted the aid of two of his father's most renowned Alchemists, Ara'maask and Myr Duxus. With the aid of the two Acolytes Gael was able to fully tap into the powers of the Dark Forge, calling on it to grant the blade before them the power to steal the life force of the user's enemies. As would be expected from someone as young as Gael the blade was gifted such power, yet it had no ability of transferring that power from the blade to the user. Yet it remained a useful ability in it's own right.

Once the weapon had been empowered by the Dark Forge Gael found himself moving on to the final stage of enhancing his creation. He realized the radiation from the blade could weaken and even poison the user if there was nothing to protect him from it's effects. Gael summoned Ara'maask to aid him in charging the sword with a rune to dampen the effects of the radiation.

The ritual itself was no more difficult than imbuing the blade with the power of the Forge, and it was not something that took a great deal of strength with the two of them participating. Under most circumstances the ritual would have been a complete success regardless of who had been called to help, but Gael was insistent that Ara'maask be the one summoned. The reason behind this was the betrayal the young Prince intended. Once Ara'maask began lost in the trance to empower the blade with a rune Gael ended his life, sacrificing the entirety of his life force to the blade's rune. However, doing this Gael involuntarily sealed the Acolyte's soul within the weapon forever.

The plan to betray the Alchemists had been one the Prince held since before he even forged the blade. Seeking to pull power from his father he moved to make those who supported the elder King, disappear.

As had happened with Ara'maask Gael summoned Myr Duxus to aid him in the binding of the last rune. A rune that was meant to pull power from the blade to grant a minor improvement to the Sith Lord who wielded it. For this Gael sacrificed Myr Duxus, yet his sentence was far heavier than his counterparts. Because he blade was directly pulling from his life force the Acolyte was sentenced to an eternity of pain within the blade.

Having forged his first master blade with the power of the Dark Forge Gael was ignorant of the many drawbacks he had set on the weapon, one such being the link he set with the weapon and himself. Only in time would he be able to see the error of the damned blade he had created.

This submission has a massive, glaring issue.

The blade is forged from uranium. Alchemized uranium. From this stem issues as following:
  • A sword this size forged from uranium would weigh about 6-7 kg. An alchemized sword forged from uranium would weigh twice to thrice that weight: 12-18 kg range. That's nearing a 'useless' weight. Even if you're inhumanly strong, this would be practically impossible to use with any proficiency or speed.
  • It's uranium. It's highly radioactive. It's pyrophoric. It's used to make nuclear weapons. You're literally walking around with a nuke in your hand.

  • Ardanium is a mineral. Minerals have a high hardness – long story short, it would shatter if used as a blade.
Gael Addock said:
Heart of the Blade: Embedded in the spine of the blade is a Kyber Crystal
  • That would make the tang of the blade extremely susceptible to breaking, making the whole sword very weak.
Gael Addock said:
Master of the Dark Side: Only a true Master of the Dark Side of the Force could ever hope to handle this weapon, any other would find themselves mentally crippled if they attempted to handle the blade for too long.
  • This is not a Weakness. The blade is unique, and forged for a Sith Lord.
Gael Addock said:
An ox of a Blade: Because of the materials used in this weapon it is extremely heavy, making it slightly difficult to wield in battle, if one is on the weaker side.
  • As said above. The blade would be several times heavier, and incredibly difficult to wield.
Gael Addock said:
The pestering of Ara'maask: Sacrificed to the blade an elder Dathari Acolyte's soul has been tethered to the weapon, plaguing the user so long as he keeps the weapon. The howls of Myr Duxus: The second Dathari Acolyte sacrificed to grant the power of "command," Myr Duxus' is also trapped in the blade, yet his soul writhes in pain from the endless torture of the weapon's void.
  • These are both extremely vague and don't seem to mention any specific adverse effects. Since the user is going to be a remorseless Sith Lord, it's highly unlikely he'll be bothered by some soul plaguing him.
Gael Addock said:
The Dead withstand: Because of it's heavy nature in the Force most of the blade's powers are useless on those who are Force Dead.
  • Again, irrelevant. The sword is being made for someone who is definitely not Force Dead.

Even with the protection from radiation offered by the rune for 'being around it', holding this would eventually kill you. A real fast eventually, being quite frank. Top it off with the fact that cutting anyone with this would be an effectual death sentence – radioactive poisoning is fast, and when a radioactive element actually enters the body, there's practically no way to save the 'infected' individual.

Now to the biggest issue of having a blade of uranium, coated by a tamper. You have, more or less, a pretty-looking nuke. It's not spherical so critical mass isn't gonna happen in and of itself – nor is it likely to spontaneous combust – but combat is a fun, versatile environment. Usually with explosions. And lightning, if you're Sith. The likelihood of this being turned into critical mass? Quite high. Nukes, I hopefully don't have to explain, are fairly dangerous stuff. It'd vaporize the wielder, the battlefield, and irradiate the general area for decades to come. There's really no way anyone can stop it if goes critical, thereby encroaching upon writer freedom in "taking hits".

In short, it's a superweapon. Those are banned.

Thus this submission is denied. You may request a second chance here.
