Description: One staple of military forces of old, the speeder, had fallen into near-obscurity in the aftermath of the Gulag Plague. However, with the resurgence of cooperation, and the need to develop fast attack craft, the landspeeder was once again in demand. Produced by SoroSuub exclusively for the Protectorate, the RT-85 features a number of advancements over antique landspeeders. The driver is fully protected in an enclosed cockpit, instead relying on a holographic display to navigate. With a flight ceiling of six meters, the RT-85 can traverse most terrain with little difficulty.

With a dedicated ray shield, the RT-85 can engage in light combat with little concern for damage. However, its primary role is one of harassment and armed reconnaissance. In addition to the two blaster cannons, the RT-85 comes with a pair of single-fire rockets of variable payload to help it with its missions. All of this comes at a price though; the RT-85 is notorious for long repair cycles and the enclosed nature of the cockpit can spell death for unfortunate pilots who crash. As well, it's somewhat more vulnerable to ion weaponry as although there are shielded reserves to help the craft slow in case of total power failure, the controls and display are almost entirely holographic, meaning that if the speeder were hit with an ion strike, it would be unable to alter direction or speed; a potentially lethal act. As well, the RT-85 has not yet been pushed into full production, waiting on the first round of reports from the battlefields.
