Round 1: Acaleus v. The Rope v. Vitha

Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the first annual Tournament of the Saber! For your viewing pleasure I offer a tournament unlike any you have ever seen before. A tournament that they will talk about for ages and write songs about our competitors and their talents. This will not be a simple sword fight, but will truly require our competitors to use everything including their minds to beat each other and only one will come out on top. Without further delay I bring you round 1!!!!

Round 1 is a test of imagination and stratagy. Everyone is armor less and wears a skin tight body suit. Even the bird. This suit has a tasty habit of changing into other outfits. In your hand is one sword each. This sword is the legendary Sword of the Jabberwocky. As you already know this sword can become your enemy, your friend or a nasty combination of the two. Both the suit and sword will be changed by me or Rofl at any point. By default it is a katana.

The field is not a field at all, but a dome. They are lined with seats for fans where you are not allowed to go fight. The ground is an ice ring so watch your step. Placed each competitors wrists are bracelets to nullify the Force. This brings even a Master on par with a padawan...kind of. The rules are, there are no rules, even death is permitted. If you should lose a limb or die, fear not for Tefka is great and you will leave healed. A loser, but healed. We shall mock and laugh at you, but at least you are alive right?

This one is the odd man which means we get a treat if seeing three fight.

Stretching his arms came long ago when he was a child trained to be a gladiator in an orbital station. He didnt even knew the planet nor he cared. Train became a challenge, being better, the meaning of his life. In another tournament, he left the stadium with his body torn apart and with enough damage. He won but the injuries werent worth it.

He hated being without his weapons and armor "Even my ability with the force. I could have stabbed my opponent" Advantages of his own against enemies. But he wouldnt have won his freedom if he didnt managed to defeat the other gladiators with a variaty of close weapons.

As usual, he didnt knew his enemies. They apparently had the same advantage, but he wouldnt know until the Jabberwocky transform. A crack came off his shoulder, another one from the other "So...lets begin?"

Talons scratched on the ice as Vitha made her way into the arena. Her orange head looked around looked around eyeing the arena. It was open so that was good and the ceiling seemed to be up high enough. She had been informed by the judges she couldn't just drop the sword and use her talons which was a bit annoying.

What was more annoying however was this clothing she'd been forced to wear. It was extremely uncomfortable, made her red skin itch as her feathers rubbed against each other and were pressed against her skin, and overall was just horribly uncomfortable. She'd managed to rip most of the material off of her wings, tail, neck, and legs allowing for free movement but it still seemed extremely hawkward to wear.

Looking at the crowd of various beings she raised a wing up and brought it in a large wave. With just under a fifteen foot wingspan it was fairly impressive. Seven feet of wing in the air was taller then some beings after all. Turning she eyed one of her opponents. He appeared to be a human roughly a foot taller then her. She wasn't to worried about him, humans tended to be quite squishy after all.

Quaz'c (Quazie) moved into the arena, clad in a black bodysuit and wielding a Jabberwocky. This was more than he was used to wearing, as only a Subarmallis was on normally. He was a gladiator, a killer, a slave. Born into slavery, Quaz'c spent the majority of his life being passed around as a slave worker, until a warlord discovered him. Bought and dragged away like he was buildings supplies, the gladiators life soon became his. Upon his 'selection' day, Quaz'c was assigned to be a Laquerarii. This meant he'd have to fight with nothing but a Laqueus, or a lasso, and a dagger. Think of it like the ones you see with the net and trident, but he has a rope and a dagger. They'd granted him time to join this team and take part in the saber tournament. Though he was now using a katana, and that wasn't his specialty. Smaller blades were his forte, as he like to move in closer to land killing blows. Quaz'c stepped out and greeted his opponents.

"To those who are about to die, we salute you."

Two opponent. A human and a bird? Acaleus didnt cared. It had the same kind of weapon as him, with the same objective. So at least it wouldnt be a 2v1, and the weapons didnt transformed yet... The rules were clear, so he took a deep breath moving his finger, taking a second to have a knowledge of every advantage he had, his own strength, agility, experience and mind, the weapon that would be his winning or loss condition.

Using one hand to grab the staff, he point it forward. He wouldnt wait for his opponent to engage at him first. The bird or the human? The human or the bird?

Acaleus simply pushed forward the bird, sliding and raising the staff for a full hit towards the head. Not an easy election, but with her out, it would be much easier to fight the human. Of course if his staff became a bouquet and the bird in a freaking weapon of mass destruction, he would have to create a new equation and try something else. Adapt or die, that sort of thing.

Vitha relaxed as she eyed her two opponents waiting for them to do the first move. She was an ambush predator meant for coming down hard and fast in a devastating strike against unprepared lizards who had their backs turned. Her orange feathers acted as the perfect camouflage against the orange skies of Altor 14 and while they weren't of much use here it didn't mean she couldn't put on a show.

As the human she'd originally been looking at darted forwards on the slippery ice she dropped the sword from her fingers. Wings gave one powerful beat downwards and she snatched the hilt of the blade in her talons. Bringing it up to deflect his attack while she got out of initial combat range. Engaging first wasn't the priority in her mind. Let the two others engage while she kept the pressure up. She'd act like a star fighter, constantly engaging then disengaging in an elaborate dance. Once one of them was tired, in pain, or dropped his guard for any single reason she be immediately on top of it, one would be easier to deal with then two. Besides she wasn't built for a fair fight on the ground.

With the plan running through her subconscious as it raced to deliver itself to her conscious she acted instinctively. Her left wing folded as she went upwards causing her right generate the majority of the lift. Tipping over while bringing her the edge of her weapon up to block and stick to her opponents in a slight bind. As this happened she'd extend her left wing back out to regain lift. She'd also fold her right back just enough to compensate for the roll as he tail fan and created a slight yaw to the right. If this worked she'd be away from his attack and into the center of the arena in a mere moment which would give her room to gain more altitude which could easily be converted into speed. This constant energy balancing act was something she'd always been good at.

Quaz'c leapt back and waited for his opponents to make the first move. As a gladiator, he relied heavily on patience and skill. If it wasn't a good time to strike, don't. Plain and simple. He sat the sword down and crouched on all fours. The katana beside him wasn't something he'd ever used before. Heavy and oblong, it was hard to work with, but he'd have to get over it. Watching the fight between the bird and human, Quaz'c found and opening for an attack. The two had met face to face and were locked in combat. Grabbing his katana, he ran right into the middle of the fight. His blade came down hard and broke them up momentarily. "Heh," he said as he moved away from the group. A quick change in pace lead to the gladiator running in a circle around the arena. Ever so slightly he'd close in and, hopefully, land a powerful blow the moment he reached them. "RAAHH!" his breathing became heavy as he continued to run.

The sword dropped to the floor, as Acaleus was laying on the floor in a second "Does something hit me from behind?" thought, as it was unlikely as he didnt heard any noise. Nobody could sneak at an assassin back. When he tried to stand up with noddles at the floor, he fell backwards "What...a freaking dog?!" he had a moment to meditate of this, as it was expected, and of course, a moment to freak out "New strategy. Bite everything in my way"

Acaleus (as a dog) stood up. Remembering how dogs walk but failing that attempt and falling to the ground "Screw this!" the assassin dog was a meters away from the bird, now another dog like him, so he just jumped, trying to bite her neck. It wouldnt be wise to mess with him...although he had the urge to smell everything around him.

Vitha flapped once more then felt something strange. She wasn't gaining any lift and she began to feel herself falling. The ground rushed up towards her and she slammed into it. Rolling head over tail she panted heavily and groaned. The bruises were going to hurt for a week. She didn't have her weapon.

Laying on her back she looked up only to see a small creature of some sort flying towards her teeth bared. Kicking out like she would if she had had her talons she aimed to catch him on her feet. If she could she'd simply bring him up and over her head using his own momentum against him. Unless he could slow himself down with the force he'd be pushed up and over her body where he would either slam into the wall or the ground. Either way she might gain some luck and break some of his bones.

Still on all fours squatting, nothing felt different. Then he saw a water puddle next to him, and a pool noodle crashed into his head. He had become a Pomeranian, not very menacing. "Your kidding, it could be anything else but I got this!" he told himself, but it sounded like bark bark bwoof! It also became a trend that Acaleus and Vitha stayed locked in combat throughout the switching, while Quaz'c hadn't been attacked once. "Maybe if I keep to the back, I can survive long enough for the second switch to happen." The Pom began to scurry around the arena, hoping to avoid all available forms of hostility for as long as he could. "It'll only be a few minutes, then I'll be fine. Maybe."

(Greyhound)

The two feet would send him flying away, as he couldnt use the force or anything to stop at mid air. He lower his head, pointing towards the leg. At the landing one feet pushed his doggy chest, but the assassin dog managed to bite the other leg. Acaleus was pushed out but managed to make a wound on the leg, but fell to the floor, hitting his back. It was time to trade hits towards the other fighter/dog on the field

Acaleus got up and run with perfect coordination this time. He was a fast learner "Woof woof" ("Gonna bite you to death!")
