Roman-styled Faction

I'm thinking I'm gong to start one... do I need to go through all the development and what not with a new character in order to start it, or can I just form it from the get go? Not all powerful, of course, just as a simple planet-state that started out similar to Rome: A single tribe starting out and, over the last few thousand years, became a small but powerful militaristic nation. Eventually, they grow more in power, making peace with those they must, and conquering those they can through money, politics, or military conquest.

Can I have some guidance on how to create a faction?

Factions are just groups of writers who post together. Major Factions however can play on the map, own territory, and invade one another. Major Factions require Admin approval as well. Please see: *Rules - *Faction Menu - *Major Factions, in the Top Banner for more information.

Please note. Factions are very easy to create, yes, but can be very difficult to maintain, moderate, menu setup, and gather new recruit sometimes. Finesse, good friends, and solid reputation are usually required to succeed.

Cheers! :D

My first suggestion when trying to make a faction - Don't start with the idea of becoming a huge deal.

The best way to achieve success here is to just start small. Find a few people interested in your concept and run with them for a while. From there, more will join. People will happily sign off on a big idea to start, but never show up. You need to build your core, loyal group up first before trying to achieve success as a faction.

Hail Caesar!

It's a cool basis, but make sure you have a clear idea for what you want the goals, beliefs and ideals of the faction to be.

And make a Lightgladius.
Emphasis added for... Well... Emphasis...

Also, seriously, take [member="Ayden Cater"] 's words to heart. I've tried thrice now to start a faction with 'Big Idea First' and all three times they failed. Currently trying to salvage one, because it's a gem of an idea near and dear to me.

Will do!

Ave Roma!

Yes, the Lightgladius will be present in a form... Well, it'll be a sword wreathed in energy. Basically, an Electrogladius. And the shields will be like the ones the Knights of Zakuul use: They absorb blaster bolts, and the metal is like Stormtrooper armor: Dissipate the bolt and spread it over a large area. You'll still feel it, but it would be non-lethal. Oh, and it would be impervious to all slugthrower types except AP rounds, or really, really big rounds. Like, Anti-materials 'AT' rifles big, like something similar to the PTRS-41 (Which was made to disable/destroy light tanks and armored vehicles).

Oh, and the ideals and beliefs are the following:

They worship the Force, even though their knowledge of it is as advanced as any Jedi or Sith, they still actually worship it.

They seek to conquer, like the real Roman Empire. Expansionism and setting up the best empire the galaxy has ever seen. In terms of power, they would be like the Galactic Empire if they actually ever succeed in conquering the galaxy, except far more fair to the people in terms of representation and law.

I created the leader, Imperator Tiberius. I haven't created the bio, yet, as I must wait for his armor, then his shield and sword to be approved. If they are approved, which I am sure they will be as they follow Legends canon in the specs I designed for them (Got inspiration from Stormtrooper armor, and upgraded it a decent amount), and no plagiarism is used. From now on, I shall respond as Imperator Tiberius.

You don't 'control' it, no. At least not on the map.

You're free to write there, but be aware that major factions can come and take it if it's neutral or ultimately own the planet if it's in their sphere.
