[APPEARANCE]

Intimidating. The first word that comes up to Doc Ribeye, an unlicensed cybernetic slash medical practitioner on Terminus., when asked of describing Roman. He goes on to further say that the investigator, while often being rude and tactless can use his naturally inherited charms to get what he desires. While Ribeye finds him rather brooding, occasionally, he also mentions that ironically the man does possess charisma making people like him despite his best efforts. Most often Doc Ribeye has seen Roman dressed in dark colored clothes, a quite long black coat, black, unbuttoned at the top, shirt and dark trousers with long black spacer boots. Roman, he notices, prefers to keep his weapon out of plain sight. Perhaps as a surprise? Or perhaps because, Doc Ribeye says, he has seen him batter a man to plasma (metaphorically) only with his fists.

[HISTORY]

Grew up in a troubled family and a troubled neighborhood. Roman was forced to follow the laws of the jungle from a young age. “...the streets - you’re either a predator or a prey.” is something he has described his childhood, and eventually the galaxy as. Distant parents, distant siblings, Roman suffered from a lack of attachment growing into a distrustful man without a vision of his future.

Purpose found him in the heart of a girl - Cayla Volante. Young, rebellious and, most importantly, with a cause. A purpose. She introduced him to Dr. Hydan Suvorov - the general secretary of the Nebula Front, a radical rebel cell, classified as a terrorist organization even by the good, which fought against contemporary governments, corporations and mostly - imperialists. As natural as it is with such organizations, the Nebula Front was no stranger to brainwashing propaganda. One might even say they were masters at it. Exploiting Roman’s blind attachment to Cayla they got through him with ease; he would burn for the cause.

Due to his gifted physical characteristics and eye for detail, Dr. Hydan Suvorov put Roman under the mentorship of Elias Hobei, a ruthless but extremely capable specialist of covert operations. Rumors were he had been formerly a Jedi Hunter for the Sith Empire; men solely raised for the purpose of hunting down Jedi and bringing back their scalps. Elias taught both Roman and Cayla the ins and outs of covert operations, intelligence gathering, unconventional and psychological warfare and Teras Kasi. Together, with ten other members of the Nebula Front, they formed the notorious and secretive commando unit Force 12 led by Elias Hobei himself.

Lured by love and through it bound to the radical cause of the Nebula Front, Roman Hayato saw combat in the FO-GA war committing terrorism atrocities. A psychological warfare through black operations seeking to disrupt morale and drive fear within the First Order’s civilian population. After the war ended, Roman Hayato returned home decorated with a 1st class Order of the Revolutio, a Medal of Valor and a sacred vow of ‘...till death do us apart’.

The First Order fell under the battering of the Ssi-ruuvi invaders leaving the Nebula Front in a position where it was no longer needed. A discarded card which fulfilled its use. Seeking stability, the worlds which were home to the Nebula Front began a process of purging troublesome elements such as radical rebel cells who were active in the war. Fearing these cells would eventually turn on the governments in place due to their ideology, the governments turned on the rebellious organizations first. Pre-emptive strike. Yesterday’s friends were today’s enemies. The Nebula Front retaliated striking brutally soft targets with surgical precision and catastrophical damages to the point the governments sought external help - the Jedi. Led by the powerful wardens of the Light, the Nebula Front and likeminded organizations were brought to their knees and turned to dust. It was at this period when Cayla, disillusioned with the cause and regretting the blood she had spilled, turned on Roman. Ambushed by a task force of soldiers, Jedi and Cayla herself, Force 12 was completely annihilated and Roman left for dead.

Miraculously, he survived. A gunshot bound for his chest had struck a talisman gifted to him by his now former wife.

Seeing the bloodbath, the betrayal and the destruction of the cause, Roman went through a catharsis. A rather nihilistic one. An epiphany that existence was solely limited to survival and sating the sinful vices of the flesh, metaphorically.

Roman Hayato, former Force 12 commando and decorated Nebula Front veteran of the First Order-Galactic Alliance war, returned to the Outer Rim to live day by day until death does him apart.
