Nar Shaddaa, the planet that never sleeps, filled with blinding lights and loud noises all across the planet. Each parts of Nar Shaddaa sector are controlled by different syndicate or group, from The Hutt Cartel to The Black Sun, as almost every known syndicate has at least an area they control whether they are big or small. One of those sector is called the Corellian Sector, where it's predominantly a filled with casinos and considered a high-rise district. The most profitable enterprise found in this region would be the gambling industry, where almost every part of the sector is filled with them. If you want to participate and win big from gambling, the casinos at the Corellian Sector is the place to spend your credits.

One of those Casinos is called The Red Dragon, which is owned by a wealthy Pantoran businessman called Tan Segawa who been running the Casino at the Corellian Sector for 5 years now. The Red Dragon rise to the top of the most popular casino in Nar Shaddaa was fast, as they were able to advertise and run their business really well. Everyone who came to gamble goes to The Red Dragon, it has even hosted an event for The Hutt Cartel. But not everything is fine and dandy for Tan Segawa, especially in terms of security of their transport that carries chips and credits. The last few years, their transport has been hijacked every time they make a delivery which resulted in hefty losses on their financial. They have tried to add more security to their transport but they still aren't successful on thwarting the hijackers, as their security aren't a match for them. Law enforcement is almost non existent in Nar Shaddaa as the only protection you get are from syndicates that are protecting their sector or private security which is what The Red Dragon are using.

They have minimize their losses by changing when they deliver the transport, but what has been the biggest factor is hiring mercenaries to guard their transport. Even thought they are not cheap, but far less expensive than to lose the transport. All of the mercenary were background check before being hired, and not all of them are rehired for the next transport schedule for extra precaution in case they turncoat. The ones who knew the schedule are employees that are trusted, Tan himself, and the mercenaries that are hired, thought they are given the schedule not to far from the delivery day. Each transport is guarded by 2 Mercenaries and 5 security guard from the Casino which includes the 2 driver and a gunner, with the vehicles they will be using are an K79-S80 Imperial Troop Transport. They also sends empty transport to act as a decoy for the real transport.

Today delivery is no different than all the delivery they have done before, they will try to avoid their transport being hijack and reach the Red Dragon storage facility with no issue. 3 transport will be going on the delivery, as inside those transport are not only credits and chips, but also valuable items which was given as a gift by The Hutt Cartel. So in total there will be 6 mercenaries and 15 casino security guard that will participate in today delivery. The mercenaries will be given their designated transport to guard once all of them are here and 1 hours before the transport went off. Everyone involved in the transport guard will be able to communicate with each other with The Red Dragon communication center will be relaying information to everyone at the transport, so they can work and coordinate with each other much better.

One of those hired mercenary is Private Detective Marcus Carter, who got the job after he was recommended to Tan Segawa himself by a former employer called Jackie. who Carter helped awhile back to save his daughter. Jackie and Tan Segawa are friends, so to return the favor towards Detective Carter, he got him a job to protect the casino transport delivery. When Carter was told about the job offer, he said yes immediately, not just because how big the pay was, but also due to his love for anything related to gambling, thus in his mind its an obligation to help protect the things he love the most which is gambling and casinos. He always wanted to gamble at a casino at this kind of caliber, where everyone has deep pockets and the place is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Carter flew to Nar Shaddaa on his private ship as soon as he heard the date and time of the transport delivery, made every necessary preparation before heading off.

Private Detective Carter was the first mercenary to arrive at The Red Dragon Casino, as he wanted to gamble first before they start their job to guard the transport. "Damn this place is magnificent" was the first thing he said when he entered and gaze upon the inside of the Casino as he then mumbled happily to himself "Is this what heaven looks like". Carter came dressed with a custom tailored dark red tuxedo, even though he's here for a job, he wanted to look fabulous rather than combat efficient. Carter went off to buy some chips, just enough to waste before he start his job, as he then head towards the craps table. Carter went to a table filled with a lot of players and spectators At the craps table, Carter looked at the dealer before he said with an excited tone "I want some of these action right here, this table is hot" as he then added "Get me in this game". Carter proceed to pay the buy in at the crap table and started to gamble, as he waits for the other mercenaries to arrived, so gambling is a great time killer. With there's still 3 hours left before the briefing for the delivery guard start and all the mercenaries are counted for.​

It had been almost a year since her.. little excursion on Nal Hutta, and since then she had not stepped foot on any planet reasonably close to Hutt Space. She knew her place, and if she ever dared come into the space, she was either there for a quick pit stop, or, some smash and grab mission. So.. working for a business that was based in Hutt space complicated things, lucky enough the payout of credits was high enough to work around those complications.. Maybe enough to repair her ship, or hopefully, just get a new one. Meaning, no Mandalorian helmet, no beskar armor, she was.. Ryala Serona, not the bounty hunter, but the individual who 'self-employed as a temporary mercenary', a perfect title.

She landed on Nar Shaddaa using a civilian transport from Balmorra after selling her previous ship off to some junk trader at the industrial district in the city. She was here for the job and nothing else, while she would fancy a drink to ease her nerves, she was employed on this mission by word of mouth, and after reaching out to the employer, and hearing of the possible payout, she knew it was her easiest bet on scoring some decent spending credit. So with that, she entered the casino, with a purse containing one of her blasters, her wrist tool, and a change of clothes, while wearing a flexible dress to allow for easy movement, but wouldn't entirely give away her identity to authorities that she had purchased from one of the nicer clothing vendors at one of the strip malls in the city. If this planet hadn't reminded her so much of the Hutts, she would.. argue that she was somewhat enjoying herself. Nevertheless, as she walked into the Red Dragon Casino she looked around, hoping to find someone of interest to speak with, however, her nerves got the best of her.. as the be frank, she wasn't used to 'looking pretty and carousing and a casino', she was used to covering her face with a helmet, and solving problems with blasters and sometimes with her wit and charm, but, that was still done from under her helmet.

Therefore, she headed for the bar. "I'll have a Phattro, on the rocks please." She'd ask with intent as she'd wait for her drinks. Observing the casino as a whole before the bartender would hand her drink. Taking a sip, she soon spotted out a man in a black suit at one of the game tables who her employer had shown a facial image of, informing her that he was to be the other mercenary on this mission to protect the transport vehicle. Knowing that she approached, smiling as she'd attempt to gain his attention from a distance but it was most likely to no avail due to the game he was in.

She would wait for the round he was in to end before speaking up, "Hi, its, Ryala, are you.. Marcus by any chance, from the transport job? Its a pleasure to meet you if so." She'd say with a kind tone, hoping that she got the right guy, and still not entirely sounding confident in herself, especially without her armor or anything. Although she was trying to come of as nice as possible since she had no reason to be in a poor mood now after getting some enjoyment now by the atmosphere of the casino at least.

At the craps table, Carter was on a hot streak and been doubling the chips he had. The spectator and even the other players were cheering him on everytime he rolled a dice and celebrated with him also when he won, as Carter due to high spirited personality and social skills was able to get along and hyped up the table he's one. Carter was telling loose anecdote and making jokes with the people at the table so they all get along, which is important for Carter, as gambling for him is not only to make money but to have fun.

As he was about to roll the dice so he could get a 6, he looked to his left as there was a young female Pantoran who was watching very excitedly and said in a charming manner "Would you give this dices I'm about to throw a nice blow for good luck". The Pantoran blushes as she then shyly did what Carter asked of her, "Thank you sweetheart" he said whilst giving her a wink. "This 6 is for all you folks who've been such a great crowd and for the beautiful lady next to me for giving me some extra luck" Carter said enthusiastically before he threw his dices, and everyone stared at the dices being thrown.

The dices were thrown, it bounces around the tables for a bit as the crowd went silent in anticipation before it finally stop. "It's a 6" the dealer said, as the whole table erupted in excitement and Carter was so joyous he went on top of the table to celebrate with a dance before he went back down after the thrill of winning is over moments later.

"Damn!, that might be the best throw of gambling career" Carter screamed whilst moving his head left to right following the rhythm of the casino music. Carter was about to play another game, he heard a soft female voice speaking behind him as he then looked behind to see an attractive brunette. At first he thought it was just people next to him talking to each other before he realize she was talking to him.

She then introduced her self as one of the other mercenaries who will be joining Carter on guarding the transport later on. "The pleasure is all mine, especially to be joined with such a beautiful lady as yourself" Carter responded with a small flirty as he shake her hand to give her a warm greeting after putting down his drink at the table. "Let me formally introduced my self" he said, before continuing "Private Detective Marcus Carter, from Coruscant at your service" as he then gave her his business card. Once he handed her his business card, he said "If you need any help with anything just give me a call, I solve any problem you have". He then went back to their original topic, "So what do I owe the pleasure to be met so early before the briefing start?" he asked her and then added whilst smiling "and have you enjoying The Red Dragon so far?". The two began talking with each other, as there is still an hour before they need to head to the back of the Casino for the job briefing.​

As Marcus addressed her, and spoke with the flirty tone she blushed a tad. Personally, she was entertained by watching him gamble, and as a people watcher, she enjoyed people who seemed welcoming as it made her feel more.. comfortable in these situations. Nevertheless, she walked over and smiled, standing next to him as he spoke to her, observing the board. But, she didn't mind playing along with her new 'partner', maybe it was the drink in her system, or maybe she just felt comfortable but she looked to him and spoke. "Well, you aren't too bad looking either, guess that's a benefit of the job." She would attempt to flirt, of course having no experience with doing so except for from watching holo series.

"Well, I'll definitely keep this card in mind, never know when I'll need a 'detective'." With that she'd jokingly tease about the detective title as she had not known about any detectives doing mercenary work, but, who was she to judge. "For the casino though, its fun and all, personally, its the first one I have ever been in for more than ten minutes. Usually not my cup of tea but this is quite fun, interesting people, and nice music." It could be seen through watching her that she genuinely looked happy, viewing the casino and watching how excited people got at the gambling tables was making her smile. It was a nice change. "How about you? How're you enjoying the 'Red Dragon', I can see you're the life of the chips table." Once again sending a teasing remark at Marcus, keeping a slight smirk on her face as she'd adjust her purse to her side.

Along with that, she would look around the hall, observing the card games like Sabaac and Pazaak, surprised about seeing an old school game like that, but to be fair, it was places like this that created those games. Plus, checking out the individual tables near the back of the Casino, seeing the Hintaro tables and watching how strategic some people were with those games. Its funny for how much she 'judged' these people for gambling their money, their was definitely a skill to what they did.
"How do you play this game as well?" She'd add on, hoping it wouldn't cut the conversation, but, being somewhat interested now. Almost within the span of 5 minutes she went from hating gambling to, being entertained by the games people were playing. Hell if people were having this much fun, how bad could a couple of games really be.

Carter smiled and laughed as he replied to her question if he's been enjoying the Casino, "Well as you can see from the chips I have in front of me, I guess it's not so bad" as he pointed at the huge stacks of chips Carter just won in a few hours. "I've been gambling ever since I could bet credits and play cards" he said to her after he teasing remarks, as Carter been addicted to gambling ever since he was introduced to it. He won his first pot when he was 16 at a Sabacc table which was held behind a butcher shop at Coruscant, that was the most money he had ever gotten at that time.

Moments later she Carter how to play this game, which he was delighted too, as sharing the thrill of gambling and the credits you can win is always a fun thing to do for him. Carter the took some of the chips he won and gave it to Ryala, as he told her "What better way to learn something than to dive in and play by your self" he smiled at her. "And before you say no, just think of it as an important skillset to use and investment for me to a new player" Carter said to her as he moved away from his spot at the table and push her gently to it, encouraging her to play. Carter gave her the general gist of what one should know playing at craps, as he also gave her useful tricks he used to get the feel and win. But not all of his trick, as a great gambler never revealed all his cards at once, he thought to himself.

"Pick a number that you think your dice will roll at" as he points at the numbers at the craps table, which shown what numbers she can bet on. "Don't over think the numbers, if you overthink it, it means that's the wrong one to bet on" he advised her, as he then added "Just go with the first number you think off and you feel confident". Carter gave her useful advice and cheered like a cheerleader would do, as they continue to pass time.

15 minutes before the briefing, Carter looked around the casino, as he saw 2 of the other mercenaries that was for the job and not long after the rest came and head to the back. Guess the fun is over, Carter thought to himself as it's time to head to back of the Casino to meet the Owner to be debriefed and do some preparation of the job. He tapped Ryala on the shoulder as he said "Time to cash out, the rest are already at the back", Carter then took his chips to cashed them and have it transferred to his account.

Carter then lead first towards the back, as they went through the staff door where they then escorted by the employee to the briefing area. It wasn't long until they reach the briefing area, which was a medium sized room, as Carter let Ryala in first by opening the door for her and said "Ladies first" with a smile on his face. Inside there was the 4 other mercenaries, Tan Segawa the owner and his head of security who he assumed will do the briefing. Carter then took a seat before he gave his thanks to Tan Segawa. "Mr. Segawa, I just wanted you Casino is absolutely fantastic and I had a lot of fun gambling here" as he then added with a laugh "Hopefully i can come here again after this job". Tan Segawa replied with a formal and smile "It's good to hear that you enjoyed your time", he then looked towards his head of security giving him a nod as a sign to let him start the briefing.

"All right, now that you are all here, let's begin the briefing" as he turn of a screen which shows the whole plan of operation. From routes, schedules and even which transport the mercenaries will be in, as Carter and Ryala was put at the main transport, which inside had the item from The Hutt Cartel. He gave Ryala a nod and a smile once he knew he will be partnered with her. The briefing continues as the head of security explained everything, he then looked towards Carter and Ryala, "The item from The Hutt Cartel is inside a suitcase, so if the transport is disabled your main priorities is to secure the suitcase and bring it to the rendezvous point however you can" before he added "That suitcase is very valuable and the item inside is quite fragile, so don't open it or drop it". "All right cool" Carter replied to him, he has done transport escort jobs a lot especially when he was still at the force. The briefing not long later was finished, as Tan Segawa and the head of security left the room to let the mercenaries do their preparation as at the other side of the room is a table and locker full of equipment they could use which was set up by the Casino.

She would first be rather reluctant to taking his spot at the table as she had watched people lose.. alot, from gambling when she was younger. But, whether it was the drink in her system, or the charming personality from Marcus - she smiled and took the spot. Listening in of course, and taking as much advise as possible. And, setting herself to play in the next round. During this first round though, she definitely did not heed Marcus' advise and began over analyzing like she always did. Putting her set on 5, which she had got after watching some sort of rhythm or commonness towards that number.

"Its a 8" The dealer would say out as she'd lose her bet of chips, frowning, but then hearing the advise of going with her gut rather than anything she looked back with her.. famous tenacity, calling for the next round. Without thinking she simply looked over the board, checked the numbers - and went with the four. Gripping her dice she gave it a shake and roll, and with that whether Marcus was genius or luck really existed, "Its a 4" She smiled and cheered throwing her arms in the air as she would turn and give Marcus an excited look, as if she was a child in who just beat some difficult video game, or, got what she want under the life day tree. Of course, from there on she had a fine time winning some, losing some, and finished with a... positive number.

Although as she cashed out she was happy to part way with whatever earnings she made, telling Marcus, "Keep the credits, I enjoyed this 'Lesson', Its a good investment." Clearly she was warming up to everything, and sending jokes back now instead of her nervous personality coming in. Nonetheless, she happily followed with Marcus and walked towards the briefing room, entering and, and not speaking much but making sure to keep up her pleasantries with her employer as she'd do a modest bow towards Mr. Segawa, and pay her respect in that department.

Furthermore, as time passed and the debriefing went on she was quick to switch to work mode. Watching and analyzing everything about this mission. The time-frame, the route, and began thinking in her head of the districts in which this transport was headed for, and moreover though more about what the Hutts were possibly needing transported by this casino, and what would put it under so much possible danger. All questions she knew she wouldn't ask, nor should ask her employer whether she risk getting ousted from the job. However, one thing that made her happy was knowing she was partnered with Marcus for this job. He was new to her, but he was definitely the type of person she liked, energetic, kind, and seemingly extroverted. Stuff that made her wanting to work and go through with a job.

With the debriefing ending although, she looked over to Marcus. "I'm going to go get changed, while I enjoy the compliments on how I look, I don't want to ruin a dress like this, especially with how much they charge here." She'd let a joke out as she'd head for the changing room. Pulling her change of clothes out from her purse. Changing into a tanktop which she had weaved in some more blaster resistant fibers into, nothing that could deflect a shot, but.. an incoming round might've not killed her. Next to that, she changed into some slacks for the mission, and threw a jacket over this for as she thought, 'style and protection', a rarity for the girl who typically wore baggy military garbs and armor. Finishing this off she holstered out her blaster pistol on her belt and undid her bun she had, letting her hair run down.

Walking back into the room she smiled at Marcus and did a quick show of her outfit. "What do you think?" By this point she had warmed up enough, and wasn't as intimated as she was when she entered. "If I may ask detective, how were you contracted for this job? Just curious of course, for a man so.. interesting, in a good way." She'd send a teasing remark as she stood next to him, fixing the rest of her outfit up, and stowing her purse away in a locker.

Carter barely changed his clothes, as R Ryala Serona also did the same inside a changing room. Carter only took off his suit and changed his pants, because as they were very expensive and custom tailored. He wore black combat pants accompanied by a utility belt and a brass knuckles on it as his top was his white shirt he was wearing underneath his suit with brown blaster holster on his body. Carter doesn't exactly wear what a typical mercenaries clothing, as he's to used to dressed up as a detective. He inserted his double RKSF-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol into his holster, as he then check on his equipment which consisted stun baton, grenades, and his rocket boots which he took from a bounty hunter he arrested years ago. Carter finishes up by tidying his clothes a bit since they were a bit wrinkles on his shirt.

Moments later Ryala finished changing, as she show off her outfit to Carter and then asking for his opinion. "You look absolutely fabulous girl" he said in a very sassy high pitched voice, "Definitely the belle of he ball, is what you are" as he continue to shower her with compliments as it is Carter nature do so. She then asked how Carter got this job, since in her own words he was interesting in a teasing way. With Carter being a detective, well private detective, anyone would be curious as to why someone who's main occupation is not a mercenary or even a bounty hunter would take on this job. Carter usually don't, as he only take mercenary or bounty hunting if he's in need of cash or the job is interesting. Which in this case, being hired by the owner of one of the most popular Casino in Nar Shaddaa and get a chance to gamble there, Carter would be to dumb to say no. "I help a rich and very influential politician on Coruscant on saving her daughter from kidnappers" he explained to her, before adding "and that guy is friends with our employer, which he then hooked me up here". Carter smiled as he then asked her a question in return, "How about you, what's your story?", curious as to her reason to take on the job, other than the great pay, it was quite a long trek from some people like Carter who came all the way from Coruscant. But Carter was also genuinely curious about her and he likes to get to know people especially from the same line of work, as they've been getting along so far.

Later on once everyone is geared up, the head of security returned to the room to escort them to the transport area as he said to them "If you're ready, please follow me". They all followed the head of security towards the casino back vehicle parking lot, where only those authorized can come in much less park there. There at the parking lot was the 3 transport, with the casino security already on board and waiting. "All right remember the plan and stick to it, once your outside the casino territory we won't be able to help you other than giving information through your comms" the head of security told the mercenaries, as they'll enter syndicate territories, with the Hutt Cartel and Black Sun are the only safe sector for them to passed but they won't be going through that area. "Time to get on board and move out people" he told them as he made final check with the casino security and the communication center. All the mercenaries moved and entered their respective transport, as Carter and Ryala transport was the one in middle. Once aboard, Carter exclaimed "Damn!" as he was shocked at how much credits and chips was inside the transport not paying attention to the primary item which was the Hutt Cartel suitcase, but focus on the piles of credits. Carter and Ryala get situated on the transport as they took a seat, with moments later the transport begin to move and head off. The mercenaries were situated at the center of the transport, whilst 2 casino security are driving and the rest are on the sides of the transport keeping an eye out.

The transport soon exit the Casino parking lot and head towards the main road, as later on the three transport separate to follow their own route following the plan, with fake transports also being deployed as decoy. Once they are outside the Casino area, the communication center did radio check and routine situation report of every transport. So far everything is fine and there was nothing to report, but they're still far away from the rendezvous point. Inside the transport, Carter looked at Ryala and jokingly said with a huge smile on his face "You think they will notice if I take some of the credits and shoved them into my pockets?". Carter never seen this much money directly before, even back when he was a detective for the Coruscant Security, he never found evidence money as much as this, not even half of it. So seeing this amount of money was a real treat for Carter, as he then joked "No wonder this transport keeps getting hijacked, with this kind of load, who wouldn't" he said while he laugh a bit. Carter continue to joke around inside the transport with Ryala, as they are closing in on the sector where the hijacking occurred the most, the calm before the storm.​
