Status
Not open for further replies.
Name: Rodica (Nicoleta)

Region: Outer, Close to unknown
System: Luminita
Suns: Stela
Orbital Position: Habitual Zone
Moons: 1 Natural moon named Daciana
System Features: The only habitual world aside from Crina, Rodica shares its existence in the system with the three other planets in the Luminita system. However, unlike Crina the world of Rodica is highly uninhabited. The asteroid fields that lay in the system, of which there are five, which would either result in problematic travel times for transport between planets or destruction of vessels venturing through them, which caused Crina to become colonized as it stranded an expedition vessel passing through the system.
Coordinates: near Crina
Rotational Period: One day on Rodica would equal around 22 hours
Orbital Period: 258

Class: Terrestrial
Diameter: 9,854 km
Atmosphere: Type 1
Climate: Rodica is a much more varied world than its counterpart of Crina. While it shares many of the forests and mountains of Crina, Rodica also sports a much more ranged climate. There are spans of arid desert lands and frozen tundra on Rodica that make it stand out compared to its inhabited sister. However, much of the temperature in each region stays the same year round, which opens up a large amount of temptation of colonization for the added land.
Gravity: Rodica has 1.4 times the Standard gravity
Primary Terrain: Boasting similar mountain ranges and forests to those of Crina, but in smaller quantity and with fewer rolling plains, Rodica's surface contains many more variations in both climate and landscape. Arid deserts and frozen trundra exist towards the north and south hemispheres. There is also a greater percentage of water on Rodica than there is Crina, where Crina is about 43% water Rodica sits around 61.7%. However, containing no sentient population or significant civilization has left Rodica a mostly barren world free to nature.

Native Species: Kath Hounds, Horse, Grazers, Graul, Unknown
Immigrated Species: Humans, Nerfs, Duncow, Groat
Primary Languages: Galactic Basic, N/A
Government: Crina's Royal Family claims dominion
Population: 3,286
Demonym: Crinan
Major Imports: None, no major population or infrastructure to initiate trade
Major Exports: None, has not been exploited or settled sufficiently yet
Affiliation: Crinan Rebels, Crina's Royal Family, Imperial Remnant

Major Locations: There are no named major locations on Rodica just yet aside from a middling rebel outpost and the world's largest, and first, community named Nicoleta after the first leader of Crina's resistance movement. Several smaller communities exist, but all follow after those on Crina. The desert and tundra regions are unique in the system though and are quite noted by the rebels during their forays across the world. They believe there may be ruins within either area, though they have not had the resources to dedicate to archaeology expeditions with the ongoing war taking their focus along with establishing perhaps their own community on Rodica to match Crina's own.

Culture: There is not a large enough population to distinguish Rodica yet, containing mostly just a few small communities and a military outpost set up by Crinan Rebels. The communities that do thrive act much the same as they do on Crina, focusing on self sufficient farming/domestication towns and villages as they try to claim the world for themselves. Though they have not moved many people over as they still fight for their homeworld primarily.

Technology: The technology on Rodica is the same as that of its sister world Crina. For technology carried over to it came from the Crinan rebels who formed a small outpost on the world as their fallback during the civil war on Crina.

History: Much of the world's history is unknown prior to the arrival of Nicoleta's ship on Rodica. Having declared war on the Royal Family of Crina for stifling the freedom of the Crinan people to become a part of the rest of the galaxy and leave their world if they so chose, Nicoleta swayed a third of the Crinan navy to her side along with an army of former farmers and other disgruntled members of the lower classes to fight against the Royal Regime. However, very early in the war it appeared quite clear that she and her cause would fail. Too many were quelled into being content, too many were afraid.

So Nicoleta took a gamble. It was well known by then their ancestors had crashed on their world after hitting an asteroid field. It was also well known the Crinan navy had made several attempts of exploring their system, and had discovered another inhabitable, but empty, world on the other side of one of the asteroid belts. Crina's royal family had made no move to populate it when people still had space and resources here, they wished to keep the people within arm's reach. So Nicoleta took it upon herself to breach that world and return, proving that not only could those who wished to escape the Royalists could, but that even the perils of their ancestors were nothing to their cause.

So a small rebel fleet did indeed brave the dangers of Luminita's asteroid belts, and reached Rodica safely. Then Nicoleta established a military outpost there, and after ensuring the safety of the world she stayed until a town was made for a number of rebel colonists as well. Their objective would be that their outpost on Rodica would become their home if they were pushed off of Crina, a place they could strike back from if the Rebellion failed. Nicoleta then left a pair of Crinan frigates behind with their compliments to safeguard Rodica and its new fledgling community. She returned to Crina with the claim and evidence she had gone farther than the Royalists had ever dared to. Her courage and actions sparking the rebellion on Crina to new heights, and also resulting in many to shy away from Rodica's name and replace it with her own in a way similar to how Crina earned its name.

However, while cut off from much of the war, the rebels on Rodica worked tirelessly to begin building their own home and society on the new world. They were few and had to cope with Rodica's differences, but they intended someday to create a world with its own identity away from Crina's own. Their primary goals being to expand over the world slowly for the time being and focus on creating a sufficient civilization. A few attempts have been made to explore around the other regions of Rodica, but they have mostly been inconclusive on whether there was ever any life in the Luminita system prior to their ancestors arrival and subsequent crash on Crina. Perhaps when more time and resources are available to the rebel outpost and villages they can make headway into these mysteries.

If the Crinan Royal Family doesn't crush the rebellion first.

Notable PCs: None
Intent: To create another world within the Luminita system to give it more life and create the world that fit into Crina's history. (There won't be any real major secrets on it just a lot of land and maybe fun archaeology within the desert and tundra regions but no super weapons or ancient artifacts of power)

Nice concept. I will accept the lack of culture and locations because its so sparsely populated.Do enjoy your planet.
