The Cutting Edge reverted from hyperspace into a system filled with asteroids. Roche, once again. ArmaTech owned the mining rights to one of the larger asteroids in the system, and had mined it very sparingly since gaining said rights. Only a few personal weapons and pieces of equipment had been pulled from it so far. Now I would be meeting a new business partner, a famous or infamous partner depending on who was asked about the being. Known for brutal efficiency and power, whereas ArmaTech was known for extreme quality, it was a good match. It was a match made in heaven. They would bring the man power, ArmaTech would bring the rock itself.
“The Cutting Edge, pulling orbit over ArmaTech Asteroid.” I told the verpine air traffic control for the system. They had worked with me for several projects and enjoyed having me around. ArmaTech made weapons and armor for their drones on occasion and most recently hired hundreds of their more intelligent engineers for work on Carida. But that was unimportant. I had preparations to make for my guests, and while I owned the rock, I didn’t have a base set up on the rock. I had left it barren and unmanned for too long and my new partners were interested in correcting that issue.
