OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create an interdiction field generator for future submissions.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Interdiction Field Generator
    • Compound gravity well projectors create artificial gravity well
    • Forces starships travelling through hyperspace to revert, temporarily immobilizing affected starships
  • Cronau Radiation Power Convertor
    • Able to convert the Cronau Radiation of nearby hyperspace reversion into a power surge
    • Power surge scales on proportion to ships affected
  • Power Surge: enhanced gravidic effects
    • Increases interdictor field strength
    • Override artificial gravity generators in affected starships
    • Sufficient surges can harm structural integrity of affected starships
  • Directed field
    • Certain sectors of space within range of the generator can have interdiction field lifted as necessary
  • Passive Anti-Shimmering Field; prohibits 'shimmering' tactics employed by specialized hyperdrives
    • Does not require interdiction field to be activated
  • Interdiction Field strength compounds with overlapping generator fields.
STRENGTHS
  • Interdiction Field: The ability to force a ship out of hyperspace is an inherently strong one; the Maeni is designed to do so, and successful interdictions have the ability to render a ship disabled for a short amount of time. In addition, even when the interdiction field is not active, the Maeni produces a passive anti-shimmering field that is designed to prevent ships with capable hyperdrives from employing 'shimmering' maneuvers.
  • Power Surge: With a built-in Cronau Radiation power convertor, the Maeni is able to convert energy expelled upon reversion into a power boost. This boost can then be used to weaponize the interdiction field, with the potential to override the artificial gravity or even harm the structural integrity of affected ships.
  • Directed Field: Certain sectors of space within the Maeni's range can have the interdiction field lifted as necessary, while keeping the rest of the field activated. This makes deploying an interdiction field much more flexible in terms of strategy and tactics.
WEAKNESSES
  • Indiscriminate: A interdiction field is unable to distinguish between friend or foe.
  • Insufficient Boost: The power surge that a Maeni can produce depends on the size and number of ships forcibly reverted; a starfighter will generate very little energy, while a Super Star Destroyer will generate significantly more. This somewhat limits the effectiveness of the power surge capability in certain situations.
DESCRIPTION
The RMR-H21 Maeni Interdiction Field Generator; the future in interdiction technology. Roble Manufacturing is no stranger to the mysteries of hyperspace, with technologies such as critalizer field generators and hyperspace inhibition countermeasures. But the Maeni is the first-ever interdiction field generator designed by Roble Manufacturing, and like all technologies produced by the starshipwright megaconglomerate, Roble aims to provide the best.

A significant leap ahead of any competition, the Maeni is able to generate an interdiction field that forcibly reverts starships traveling through hyperspace in the corresponding realspace sectors; upon a forced reversion, most often a starship's systems are disabled, leaving them extremely vulnerable to incoming damage. The interdiction's field range and relative strength is compounded when the fields of multiple generators overlap. This reversion also generates Cronau Radiation, for which the Maeni is equipped to convert into additional energy. This energy can then be used for a power surge that weaponizes the Maeni on an entirely other level, designed to override affected starship's gravity systems and potentially even harm its structural integrity depending on the scale of the surge. The power scale of the surge depends on the number of, and size of, starships reverted; a fleet of Star Destroyers forcibly reverted generates significantly more energy than a single starfighter.

The Maeni also features a passive anti-shimmering field. Shimmering is an advanced maneuver tactic possible through the use of specialized hyperdrives, in which starships can revert in and out of hyperspace while remaining stationary relative to their realspace coordinates; this tactic can be used to many different extents. However, the Maeni's anti-shimmering field is designed to prohibits this, and its passive nature means that the interdiction field does not have to be active for shimmering to be countered. This is mainly due to the fact that while the acceleration required to conventionally hyperspace requires an equally strong interdiction force, the comparative lack of momentum that a shimmering reversion requires means that it can be much more easily countered.

A significant drawback of the Maeni, however, is that its interdiction and anti-shimmering fields are indiscriminate. A interdiction field cannot distinguish between friends or foe, and although specific areas within a Maeni's range have their interdiction field lifted, the fact remains that friendly ships do risk being caught and immobilized by a interdiction field, and that shimmering for friendly ships is prohibited as well. However, when employed correctly, the Maeni becomes a vital control tool in hyperlane patrol and naval warfare.

This is a very cool and powerful piece of technology. I suggest to modify the production scale to minor. Which, in turn, is not a suggestion but a request.
Please change the statements in the submission to conditional. For example it can interrupt the hyperspace travel, or similar. Or please add to all of the "statement lines" with that this is depends on the writer, you know, you cannot deciede instead of them. This is their choice and decision.
