SPECIAL FEATURES

Extreme Modularity - This system is designed to be nothing more than a basic frame to which an experience operator can pick and choose equipment loadouts. For the less technically inclined, there are various premade kits provided by BT-Sarn.

Strengths:
  • Modular - The RLD-516 is merely an "Empty Shell" for which the end user can put in the drone essentially whatever will fit in the shell. The drone can operate as a medical droid, a reconnaissance drone, a security drone, among many others.
  • Communication - Normal droids communicate in binary, and while this drone also communicates in binary, however it has a much larger range of tones which the droid uses for a sort of inflection, giving the binary this droid speaks much more nuance. While a normal droid will be able to understand perfectly, they will not pick up on the more nuanced communication.
Weaknesses:
  • Personality - The droids have a tendancy to develop extremely strong personalities very quickly, and while this can be a positive thing in some cases this is detrimental in most others. The droids purpose also has a huge effect on how the droids personality develops, but they will never be just mindless drones following orders. A medical drone might become highly overprotective, a security drone might become pushy and aggressive, a recon drone might become broody or possibly even develop similar traits as adrenaline junkies.
  • Empty Shell - Without a loadout this might as well be a floating ball of plasteel and electrical components, it is useless until given purpose.
DESCRIPTION
The RLD 516 Chimera is a simple drone platform designed to be incredibly easy to adapt to different use cases and needs, especially by a skilled operator. The drone system is designed at its core to be an empty shell waiting to be modified and adapted by anyone with either premade loadouts designed by BT-Sarn or other developers, or technical experts with the skills to fit just about any crazy device that they want to try and throw at it. Whether it be a medicine, recon, security, sensing, and possibly even protocol duties, the system is probably able to handle it.

As a sort of issue with designing a personality circuit that can accommodate so many different roles the drones tend to develop extremely strong and quirky personalities in an extremely quick fashion, the results are highly unpredictable, but seem to depend on the loadout of the droid. In order to accommodate these exuberant personalities, the designers gave the drones an extended version of binary which is able to communicate more meaning while still being understandable to other droids. It mainly operates by manipulating the tone and amplitude of the various binary chimes and tones, giving the droid the ability to inflect deeper meaning into binary statements, particularly information about mood and other forms of nonverbal meaning communicated through spoken language.

Beyond this this product is simply an empty shell, having nothing but a repulsorlift, power supply, and a shell to fit things in, otherwise it is completely up to the end user to design and modify the drone as they wish. BT-Sarn has plans to release premade load-outs for the Chimera, but they have not materialized at this time.

(OOC Note: In Practice this is just a base platform and loadouts will be submitted separately with their own strengths and weaknesses as applicable. This is a shell not a full product in and of itself)

[member="Gir Quee"] Well i guess you could but it really wouldn't be very useful, it would essentially be a floating ball you could give simple commands (I.E. Follow me, go there, stay here), a very eccentric floating ball at that. Think of it as basically a blank slate.

[member="Lyra Sarn"], if this is an entirely functional droid (and there's nothing wrong with that), there are certain areas I have treat differently than if this was just a subcomponent. That's the only reason I'm asking.

Classification: N/A (Depends on loadout)
I realize that this may be customized in the future with different loadouts, but since this is a working droid model on its own, the very base model should a definite degree assigned to it.

Otherwise, this looks good.
