Private Rising Of The Bardic Curtain

The 'droidspeak' was unexpected, though it served to bring a very brief smile to his lips. Starlin's reluctance was palpable even before his short response, but at the very least he agreed to try. That was really all Eli could ask of him, wasn't it? You couldn't exactly force someone to speak, after all.
"Girls..." Their mancave of a ship was soon to be overruled by girls. It was actually a rather nice thought, Bright Knight was sometimes a little too quiet, especially when Starlin was off on Jedi business. Maybe it would feel more alive. "Cute."
Soon he found himself hauled out of the hoverchair to be set alongside Starlin on the sofa, and he seemed to crumple all the more in response. Maybe due to the lack of support that the hoverchair intrinsically provided, or maybe because he felt as though he was being given leave to break for a moment. Either way he sobbed against his shoulder, the trembling of his body worsened by his lack of weight.
Starlin's answer wasn't immediately helpful, but then Eliphas hadn't really been looking for an answer or solution. It was true though, he wasn't alone in this even if he felt as though he was. He still had a place here.
The effects of the caf were wearing off, as was his general adrenaline, leaving Eli heavy lidded and shivering. All the same he continued to fight against the draw of sleep.
"Will she forgive me?" he whispered, as he raised a hand to rub the sleep and tears from his eyes. He couldn't sleep.
If he fell asleep he might never awaken again.

"Will she forgive me?"

Force, Eli,” Starlin muttered, rubbing the boy’s shivering back. He could feel ribs and the ridges of his spine through his shirt. “If she’s dead, you won’t have to worry about her forgiving you.

The caf was starting to wear off on him too, caffeine crash leaving him sluggish. He checked the time and balked at how late it was. It occurred to him that maybe he shouldn’t leave Eli alone like this, but then what? Sharing a bed struck him as a little too weird. Maybe he could sleep on the floor?

Starlin scooped Eli up and carried him back to his quarters, where he laid him on his bed. “Try and rest,” he said.

Reaching a state of delirium, he hardly even heard Starlin's response which was probably for the best. In fact he barely noticed when he was plucked up from the sofa and carried through the ship back to his room.
"Can't sleep" he was murmuring, once he realized what was happening. Once he felt the plush bed beneath his body, and the warm comforter. "Can't sleep..." But even as he said it his eyes drifted shut and his breathing became a little bit more measured, from frantic and sorrowful to restful.
As much as Eliphas tried to fight it, as much as he feared to sleep, he was soon out like a light.
