Myles Davorak
Soldier of Fortune
Rishi
Raider's Cove
"Triad Security Headquarters"
13:47 Local Time
----------------------------------------------------
Transmissions flooded in and out aboard The Tempest. Something awful was going on at HQ and Myles wasn't planet side yet to figure out the pandemonium that was ensuing on their tract of land. Davorak got a distress signal saying that HQ was under attack by some unknown force, it wasn't locals causing this but it was a group of professionals who knew when, where & how to strike.
"Sir! The base is......-kzzztt- your orders?"
Myles thumped his holocommunicator multiple times with fear, anxiety and rage as his ship was overclocking its speed to get to Rishi in time.
"Evacuate the base, and initiate failsafe protocols Besh-Aura. Get out of there son! I'll find you all. Stay alive and leave no-one behind. Make sure all data is transferred away from home site"
The soldier paused before confirming as blaster bolts could be heard in the background. A full-on assault was being had, and someone wanted to make him pay; but why? It mattered not, his men came first--THEN the data. Myles was hoarding data and schematics of various equipment he planned to design and implement in his firm but had yet to pitch it to a manufacturer. Gritting his teeth, the silhouette of the planet became bigger and bigger as he longed to get back to Rishi. He had no known enemies and his men were loyal members so he figured there was a bigger game at stake here.
Failsafe Besh-Aura was a backup plan in case HQ were to be compromised or come under heavy fire. Information that was stored in the databanks would be offloaded and transmitted to The Tempest for safekeeping. The databanks would then initiate a self-destruct by corrupting the data and purging it from its system, leaving no trace of relevant information.
Entering the atmosphere of Rishi was a bittersweet feeling. He loved Rishi and was glad to be back but he wished it were under better circumstances. Being settled in one place for too long was an oversight that Myles did not calculate thoroughly for. A trail of smoke lingered in the distance, in the direction of where HQ was located. Myles radioed in to his men while slowing the throttle on the ship.
"Take cover boys! Cavalry is incoming and loading concussion missiles!"
Engaging the targeting computer was so satisfying. They might have ruined the base, but he will be damned if they get away with it. The Tempest slowed to a crawl, to allow maximum firepower to rain down on unsuspecting victims. A payload was ready to be dropped as he came over the clearing near the base.
Various footsoldiers wearing interesting and unique armor were closing in on the base's position. An enclave of Triad troops could be seen defending the main bulwark of the compound. As soon as they saw the AIAT/i, it was already too late as the weapons systems engaged and kicked sand in the air along with gory bits of blood. The Tempest may not be the fastest vehicle but she did have the artillery and armor provided for a rescue op such as this.
With Myles' artillery and the combined forces of his men, the assailants were cut down rather quickly with no mercy. A data stream was making contact with The Tempest , it was the data schematics that was part of Failsafe Besh-Aura plan. With the information retaining its integrity on the AIAT/i, Myles set the ship down on the beachhead to allow his troops to pile inside the vessel.
