  • Structure Name: Rishi Hypergate
  • Classification: Hypergate
  • Location: Rishi
  • Affiliation: Unaffiliated
  • Accessibility: Depends on the faction that holds the planet at the time, though it can generally be considered secure under Planetary Defence to prevent random incursions onto the planet itself. It is also only accessible by ship, seeing as the Gate itself is located in orbital space.
  • Description: A rift torn open in Hyperspace due to the Galactic Shift in 902ABY, which was then stabilised by the Confederacy of Independent Systems at the time and they constructed an actual Gate around it in order to find new ways of Galactic travel after the collapse of some Hyperlanes in the area.

  • Gate: Suspended in the high orbit above Rishi, the Hypergate looms like a jagged halo carved from gravity itself. A vast, obsidian ring over 9 kilometers wide, its inner circumference churns with a spiraling storm of violet and white energy - raw hyperspace barely tamed. The frame itself is a lattice of dark metal and glowing conduits, like a spine wrapped in lightning, pulsing with rhythmless, alien light.

Crackles of spatial distortion dance along its surface, and ships approaching too quickly report instruments glitching and temporary vertigo among crew. At its heart, the rift hums with restrained violence, a wound in space kept barely in check by humming stabilization pylons. The gate does not open gently, it flares, screams, and tears space open, as if hyperspace itself remembers being forced to obey.

Medium: Security levels are mostly medium when not owned by an actual faction, as defence then falls to the general Planetary Defence Force of Rishi. It is up to each faction to provide its own security to it as they deem fit.

In the final days of peace before the age of collapse, the stars above Rishi tore open.

The Sundering Dawn, a cosmic upheaval that shattered minor hyperlanes and scrambled the map of the known Galaxy, left behind more than broken routes and silence in once-thriving sectors. Above the lush and storm-wreathed world of Rishi, a rift appeared. Not a storm, nor a ship, nor any known technology - this was Hyperspace made visible, screaming into realspace as a jagged scar in the sky. It flared with impossible light, radiating gravitational anomalies and raw spatial turbulence.

Left unchecked, the rift would have consumed orbital lanes and torn passing vessels apart. But the Confederacy of Independent Systems, who then held dominion over Rishi, saw both the danger and the potential. Within months, Confederate engineers, scientists, and military contractors worked around the clock to construct a colossal containment structure: the Rishi Hypergate.

Built not to close the rift, but to stabilise it, the gate now frames the breach in space like a crown around chaos. It acts as a channel, focusing the rift’s wild energies into a usable corridor - a new gateway into the Galaxy. Unlike traditional hyperspace routes, this passage is alive, unpredictable, and still evolving. Every jump through the gate is a whisper from the unknown, a step into a re-formed frontier.

Though the Hypergate currently lies within Confederate territory and is patrolled with utmost vigilance, its orbit guarded by drones, cruisers, and tight traffic protocols, it is recognized that Rishi remains a sovereign world. When the Confederacy’s dominion ceases, gate authority and stewardship are expected to revert to the Rishi Planetary Defence Force, as agreed. Until then, the skies above Rishi burn with quiet promise and peril - a monument to the fracture of the stars, and the will to tame what broke them.
