Ringo Ships

Elaine had to build her fleet, to get her troops to from other worlds and home again. She decide she was going to buy some capital ships, to help with this, as well as possibly a few others. She had checked the marketplace, and decide to pay [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] a visit unfortunatly she was on other side of galaxy from her. The planet in question was Ringo Vinda, a desert world with a ring asteroids around it. As her ship left hyperspace, she began the descent in her ship, her ship was also in need of replacement. As she started to realize the heat shields, where not working as well as they should, as cabin got a bit hotter.

As she ship landed, and cooled down a bit. She disembarked and she heard some children say, What a hunk of Junk. She was slightly embarrassed by it, well it was time to get rid of it. She then took a speeder, that was pre booked to take her to [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] offices. The cab driver was talking about her ship, he did not know it was hers, but he referred to as saying he has not seen one of them in this century, it was talk of town, that it still flew. Soon her ordeal was over, and she made it to the office, where she ushered into a waiting room to begin talks about a fleet.

In the meantime, it was one of those rare occasions where Jessica could actually do something in the headquarters of the planet: these days, especially after news of a third raid on Ossus arrived, the priority was to fortify Ossus, using shield gates not unlike those in use over Serenno. While these shield gates were under construction, and in the late stages of construction, she was back from yet another campaign event. She realized how recent events could cause the authorities to postpone the final referendum vote pretty much indefinitely: it has dragged on for far too long and it was not safe to hold a referendum vote just yet. But [member="Elaine Thul"] was one of those very first clients in a long time where she personally had to meet in person: long were those days where she was more of a corporate executive than a Jedi. When Elaine's taxi arrives at the reception office, the receptionist opens an intercom channel for Jessia herself:

"Boss, Elaine Thul has arrived. Shall I send her in?"

"Yes"

Elaine was lead into the office of [member="Jessica Med-Beq"], the office was pleasant. She just realised she never had brought anything before, she just made it herself. Though she did not have the expertise in building her fleet, she knew of one ship she wanted, for moment she need three of them, a troop carrier. She also wanted fighter bombers, as well as interceptors to defend the planet. This was outstanding a battle station to protect Elysian space, and a small fleet with it. Her world would not suffer same fate as Yutan, she would not just be ambushed a sith fleet, who saw political issue.

As she sat down opposite the Jedi master, she gave bow of respect. Then proceeded to explain her needs, I am currently expanding my personal forces to hundred thousand soliders, and I like fleet to help them. As I get to this number soliders I should be able to operate, nearly eight thousand meters of ships. So I like to make this into four task forces, of nearly two thousand in meterage of ships each, with twenty five thousand soldiers to be able to be deployed. This as well as a personal ship, that could carry say me a small crew, twenty of my personal bodyguards. Though I like that one to be sleek in design, this my first order. Though I would need it in stages, as my army develops, to accommodate each task forces. She paused and took a drink of water, and then said The other order I need to fill is one for my homeworld, I like you to design a fleet and a battle station to defend it from unwelcome visitors. As it occurred to me recently, that first order has been attacking anyone who helped the Galactic Alliance. I know the outback has from time to time, and I did against the sith for a time. So they may decide to attack, as I am very close to border. She paused from speaking, momentarily then asked How do you recommend I do this, as I have no idea about fleets.

"Already the troop carriers you're alluding to are eating up half the meterage, so that leaves 1 km for each in escorts. It is best not to have ships like these escorted by a single unit, so what I'd recommend is, in part, to defend from fighter attacks, the use of the Hardcell-X anti-starfighter frigate, and, to a lesser extent, Krayiss-class escort frigates, and, against larger ships, the Skor-class monitor frigate. All three share the same chassis, so that should take care of the task forces and their escorts. Now that you mention the First Order, 1 Hardcell-X, 1 Krayiss and 2 Skors for each troop carrier; they tend to focus more on the use of big ships. Also for each troop carrier, 1 squadron of A-Wings with tow cables and 1 squadron of Chiloon-class fighter/bombers for a total of 8 squadrons. There is one question I have about the second order: what is it that Elysian can afford, in terms of meterage? I'll have to say, however, that the station part is the biggest gap in our offerings: we simply don't have any standard offerings. However, we can build a customized defense station or even Elysian being the launch customer of a defense station class"

That's going to be one large order for Elysian, she thought, while realizing that the whole order would be built over Pergitor or Zonju V, after hearing about the various sets of specifications from [member="Elaine Thul"]. Jessica may not have the naval combat experience of one Cathul, but she still knew about what the First Order usually used for tactics. Plus she realizes that a Neimoidian Yacht may not be the most elegant ship capable of fitting 20 bodyguards and the person these bodyguards are for. And yet, the second part depended on what could Elysian afford in terms of meterage: she knew that taking in too much than they can chew can be problematic.

"One last thing: since you mentioned a personal ship for you and your bodyguards, are there particular specifications you want out of the ship, beyond the passenger and cargo capacity? An Otherdrive? A 0.5 hyperdrive? Specific weapons systems? Stealth?"

She listened to [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] and nodded along, ships where not her forte, it was the reason she came to a specialist. She then asked what could Elysian afford, she liked to say thirty thousand metres of ships, but she had to be realistic, it was five thousands plus battle station. We can afford roughly five thousand meters of ships, and the station. Though we need some help training crews as well, as it not something we need much of before. As for payment, how do we proceed what are your terms. She hoped for a line of credit, but she did not know if that was option or was it fifty fifty deal. As for my personal ship, a place to charge the power armour batteries. I am not overly bothered about the hyperdrive or otherdrive, as I think place is far too dangerous for me. Stealth would be good, weapons some would be useful, though I guess defence would be more important. As I rather get out of their alive, than risk dying in vacuum of space. The idea of dying in space, was one she did not like. As she heard as your skin freezes due to coldness of space, your blood boils as no pressure and your core heat, takes boiling point. As this happens, you lungs explode due to the pressure inside them, she did wonder which would kill you first, it was not something she wanted. She rather have quick death by mortar shell.

"5 km for a fleet would mean no more than 1 destroyer, and the remainder would be smaller ships. Usually I would say the Immobilizer 419 would be the flagship, given its two functions as an interdictor and a listening post, and a suite of escorts. For escorts, I would say 2 Munificent-Xs for heavy cruisers, 2 C-9980s, 2 Krayiss, 1 Hardcell-X and 2 Skors. For fighter complements I would usually go for 8 squadrons of A-Wings with tow cables and 6 squadrons of Chiloon bombers. As for crew training, you can always inquire the ORC about it. Finally, for your personal ship, I suppose it can be done"

Even then, the easy part in the scope of statement for [member="Elaine Thul"]'s personal ship was the power armor battery recharge station. Defenses would have to be prioritized over speed, most likely. She did not care for Otherspace, and Jessica couldn't blame Elaine for it: everybody that flew in Otherspace was well aware of how dangerous it could be, herself included, since she only flew in Otherspace once, to get back to Irn after the Primeval dissolved. She began to run the calculations for the cost of it all, and it was... staggering. 22 squadrons, 13 km of ships and it already cost almost 740 million without the station or the personal ship. The discount on it all may well mean that the station, the fighters attached to it and finally, the personal ship would come to a measly 10 million combined. Measly when stations usually ran for similar prices to that of starships of the same size.

"It seems that financing is the main idea you have in mind for payment, and the station, roughly 1 km in size, is discounted, and the station's fighter complement comes for free: given the bulk purchase for about 13 km of ships. Here are your options, giveh the 750 million total bill: 3 years at 3% APR, 5 years at 4% APR or 10 years at 5% APR"

She looked over the figures, and it was fair, her idea of getting her allies in Outer Rim Collation was good. She smiled as everything was fair, she then decide on her terms .I pay two hundred and fifty million as a deposit, and i pay the remaining five hundred million credits over ten years, with the five percent apr. She then wonder how long does it take to make these ships, ad if she could see what she had heard called shake downs, apparently it was something they did to make ship was working right. This would be something of use, as she could see how they work. May I ask how long to they are delivered, and may watch the shakedown trials, as Iike to see how they perform. As this may give me some tactical insight, in how to use them in battle. Also can I have any tactical footage these ships, in use so I can best figure out how to deploy them in battle. She then paused and had drink water, and then added Obviously only declassified knowledge, as I am new to ships, and anything to help would be useful.

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

"It should be completely finished in about a year, and of course that's for the biggest ships of the gang. The very first will likely be a Hardcell, a Skor or a Krayiss, a month from now, and a C-9980 a month later. As for the shakedown flights, you are more than welcome to come to the space trials"

A Hardcell-X-class ship could take just a month to build, and in one slipway it was possible to build several of them side-by-side, while the C-9980s could take two months, using the same slipway. The big problem of the Munificent-X heavy cruisers is that it took six months inside one Sacul and the Immobilizer 419 would take twice as long. Pergitor and Zonju V would still have enough space to build the whole deal however. [member="Elaine Thul"] would be given a data tape with footage from the Serenno campaign, where many units were used. As for A-Wings with tow cables, the Charros campaign was the very first operation after approval for sale, even though the actual combat action seen by those A-Wings was pretty limited, and there is also declassified footage from Operation Blackout on Coruscant pertaining the use of the A-Wings with tow cables, showing exactly how those fighters differed from the run-of-the-mill A-Wings devoid of tow cables while they were still at the prototype stage. In the end Jessica enters the terms for the contract into the printing machine so that they could be printed for Elaine to sign:

"Here, have some combat footage from the ships on order so that they could be used to train the crews"

As she was handed the contract by [member="Jessica Med-Beq"], now this was something she already understood, the legal jargon as the same was in some of hers. The contract was fair and equitable, so she signed it and passed one of the copies back to her, so they had one each. I will study the footage later, and I will start recruitment for the naval positions, and show them footage as well. Upon my return to Elysian, and when they completed some training, I send them to you do tours of ships, and help out in the trials if that is okay. As it will help them in their training, to watch your crew handle them. She then after finished talking, got ready to get up unless further business arraived, as deal was complete until ship began being ready. Then she would come to watch, with some her new navy personnel. This was hopefully enough to deter people from considering her homeworld a target.

And... regardless of how [member="Elaine Thul"] feels about the situation, Jessica signed both copies of the contract, and may the contract be fulfilled to satisfaction. Plus, due to events on Charros she just received word that the referendum has been canceled. However much she invested of herself as a SJ general, out on the field, however much she invested of herself in this referendum campaign, it was for naught by now. Bimmisaari was no longer officially a SJ planet, but it was not an Imperial one either. As with several of the engagements where she fought, and, in fact, most of the more recent ones, even though she was a key instrument of holding the line, tactical victory doesn't translate to a strategical victory. Or victory in one theater does not translate to victory across the sector. The Force may have forsaken me by now, she thought. In the best of cases I would be remembered as a competent commander that fought in panic-prone theaters, in the worst of cases I would be an incompetent fool.

As all business seemed to have completed, I look forward to seeing my fleet, hopefully never in action. She hoped it act as a deterrent, rather than actually fighting, as it meant they would be overwhelmed. As anyone planning an attack would take it into account, and come with a bigger fleet if they can. She then got out of her seat, and said to her as she got up, May the force be with you, as I believe the sith are on the move. They both knew the Silver Jedi where next in line for the sith attacks, they could only hope they where strong enough to resist the attack. As otherwise, they would be not be long before they would be moving on the newer free worlds. She then waited for a reply before she left the room, as her business is done.
