The Three Tenets of the Order

Embodied by the value of order and stability, justice is the primary heritage the Order takes from the Knights of Zakuul.

At every given moment in his life, a Paladin will always seek to be just. Justice is delivered through bringing stability, reason, law and enlightenment through the means of meritocarcy and neutrality.
The most daily and closest tent of the Rim-Guard is discipline. Its mandate is absolute and has no room for interpretation. Discipline is the foundation upon which society works, upon which this Order stands.

The value is incarnated in the blind trust every Paladin can have to his/her brethren, as well as to their superiors. There is no doubt, no hesitation and no questioning.
Outsiders would regard this tenet as arrogance, but it is not. To strive for perfection, to strive the excel in the fields of expertise the Order is engaging, is nothing arrogant.

The Order is a militaristic society and the sense of military engagements is to be victorious. The Rim-Guard extends this goal to everything they are a part of. Seeking perfection in every moment.

Decree of Conduct
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order chapters is called a Paladin and shall be referred to by his/her comrades as brother or sister.
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order chapters, except for the supreme command, will stay anonymous to those who are not part of the Order, including the Curia Magna Division. You will remove your helmet or reveal your face only in an Order Sanctum.
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order chapters has to follow the three tenets of the Order and led his actions be guided by it.
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order chapters will dedicate his daily routines to the decreed schedule. Exceptions can occur in warzones and if a superior officer is deeming it necessary/not situational.
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order chapters will never give any information about the interior workings, routines, secrets or members of the Order to anyone outside, including the Curia Magna.
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order chapters who is a fully enhanced and approved Paladin, may take an equerry if availability permits it.
  • Every member of the Rim-Guard Order will equally be judged on his/her skills, talents and experience, ignoring any division between Force sensitives or non-sensitives.

APPEARANCE
Sar Calgar is a man of naturally tall stature, his halfbreed origin adding to this feature. It is though difficult to determine which side of his origin is providing the dominant genes as he would seem perfectly balanced between the two, if events in his life would not have altered his appearance drastically and long-lasting. He was born with eyes of a strong green colour with golden dots in the iris and a noble face with fair proportions and high cheek and fine jaw bones. Broad but neat eyebrows shadowed over his intelligent eyes.

Due to the extensive and extreme cybernetical implantations and bio-engineering, his face and body were utterly devastated with scars and visible cybernetics, deep craters running through his face and distorting his originally pretty look. Though due to the years-long operations and improvements, he acquired a different physical stature. He was atheletic and well built before, but now his complexion was perfect, not too muscular and not too thin, he became what in ancient tales was referred to an 'adonis'. While he grew in size and proportion, his weight grew as well, but not exponentially. We weighs near twice as much as an ordinary man of his stature. Due to the replacement of his eyes with artificial ones, the former green turned into an icy, dead blue. Even more deterrent is the fact that he is never blinking.

The second noteworthy event distorted his face to the degree that it burned out all his muscles which were responsible for all facial expressions, hence why he is not able anymore to even smile or perk an eyebrow. The torture was extreme and total.

With the third event in his life which was responsible for a change of his appearance, certain aspects of his life changed as well. The formerly artificial blue eyes, turned entirely ice-blue and what were the pupils turned into an abysmal black, the Dark side corruption taking a strange path to show itself here, but it also partially healed and rejuvinated the muscles in his face, giving Calgar the ability to show expressions again.

CYBERNETICS, IMPLANTS, BIO-ENGINEERING
Bred in a laboratory from two promising Force sensitives parents, one Arkanian and one Epicanthix, Calgar was destined to advance into the later Templar-program. The program was altering the Force sensitives of Vandemar to be more capable in warfare, adding to physical capabilities as well as mental with a combination of cybernetics, organ implants and refined bio-engineering. The usual process took up to two years and was done in the teenage years of the aspirant.
Sar Calgar entered the process as the age of twelve, already a capable warrior due to the childhood training and used to the variety of demands which were straining a future soldier. During the following two years, through countless operations and tests, Calgar received enormous physical alterations. The process of bone and body growth was changed to an immensely more painful one, as the bones were growing in density. A swifter and more demanding metabolism evolved based on the expanding of several functions of his body, the muscles structure changing fundamentally and therefore making the aspirant able to bring the ordinary strength and mass to that of three times a man of its size. While the bone density grew, the ribs also changed, enclosing the thorax and building a cage which could only broken with serious force applied.
Additionally to the more physical changes, the senses were entirely overhauled, artificial eyes implanted as well as the TIU unit at the spine. The senses of hearing and smelling were improved as well as the neural connections to all limbs, allowing for a seriously decreased reaction time and reflexes. The improvements of the organs were mainly focused around increasing the longevity, productivity and capacity and centered around heart and lungs. Additionally there were adrenal stims and pain-killer producing organs put directly in connection with the spinal cord.


EQUIPMENT

Armour Sets
The Aegis was the traditional armour of the Regents and Monarchs of Vandemar. This set was altered and forged by Sar Calgar. Even though it is no full plate, it is a masterfully forged piece of protection made of Duranium, Rhodium, Titanium, Frasium and Phrik in different alloys and compounds. It serves both as a ceremonial as well as a battle garb and includes a classical vandemarian shield, powered and enhanced in its protection by a power generator.
In the Centenarian Crusaders are two hierarchies in place, the official military and the warrior-lodge rankings. With Calgar rise to power, he became the Seneschal of the lodge, its master basically. Through these mechanisations he achieved control over the Crusaders and enforced a control from within which is based on merit and comradeship. The heavy plate armour, Calgars primary protection-wear, is of heavy plates made of Duranium, Quadanium and Titanium and a coat of chainmail which rings are made of Titanium as well. The bracers of the armour were forged with the use of Sith Alchemy, providing further protection and attributes.
As gladiatorial fighting is a tradition of Vandemar and was Calgars path to freedom, he still keeps the set of armour he wore in his final fight. Crude plate armour with a chainmail shirt, the set was not made by the now-Lord Regent himself, but given to him by sponsors.

Weapons
This weapon was forged by Calgar himself in a contest which took ten days. His adversary was no lesser than the Arch-Arsonist of Vordia, his nemesis. Both stood beneath the grand Hellblade Mountains, in the vast forger enclaves and built their weapons. Ten days of constant smithing echoed through the halls. This power hammer, perfectly balanced, was the result.
The gladius is the standard sidearm of the Vandemarian military and especially of the Centenarian Crusaders.
The Praetorian is the ceremonial blade of Vengard, the capital of Vandemar. A weapon carried by a long line of protectors, awarded to the most capable warrior and commander in the defence of the city.
A standard issue tower shield with a power generator to support the internal deflector. It bears the insignia of the Lord Regent Calgar.
Varus was a near-mythical Warmaster and warrior in the service of the Hundred against the Yuuzahn Vong.

PERSONALITY

"A soldier will fight harder for his interests than for his rights."

Sar Calgar is a serious man who is very determined and focused, but also has went through a strong change in his behaviour in the last years, especially since his harsh fall to the Dark side. Where he was arrogant and distanced before, calculating and even condescending, he turned more socialable. Not to a friendly and welcoming degree, but to a sarcastic and still superior-acting stance. He is merciless in his pursuit for the goals he has set his eyes on, just as before but the Dark side of the Force has given him a more pragmatic, than ideological approach.

Calgar is fierce and zealous warrior, a crusader for the ideals of the Sith Code, abandoning tradition, blood and conservatism in favour of progression, meritocracy and stratocracy. He is willing to sacrifice anyone and anything to advance these goals and ideology, not halting to see allies, cities or planets burn.

Out of duty and when being in his free time, Sar can be found chatting and even drinking with fellow comrades and friends. He is known to occasionally walk the lines of his soldiers and offer personal conversations, advice and even jokes for the morale, showing a high degree of comradeship. Calgar expects everyone under his command to do his duty and will make sure they fulfill it. Nevertheless it is known that he will order everything necessary to reach what he desires.

Distinguished as a master at arms without knowing the classical seven forms of lightsaber combat until recently, he loves to fight and even to spar but is very hesitant and distanced to the idea of teaching and lecturing. His warrior mindset and his fall to the Dark side supported a very unhuman turn of behaviour in him. While he will constantly make sure that his men and followers are ready to die for him, he does so as part of a calculating nature. Since he was altered to his superhuman physiology and abilities which go beyond certain horizons of ordinary mortals, there is a certain distance in him, even a non-understanding those he talks to.
