STRENGTHS
- Lightsaber resistant: Due to the Songsteel in the blade, the weapon has a high lightsaber resistance.
- Fluid silver: Songsteel is a very light material which makes the weapon much lighter than equally sized weapons of other materials.
- Size: The weapon is quite large for ordinary sized people and can be unhandy if not wielded as a greatsword.

Following the distancing from the Eternal Empire, the Rim-Guard needed to have an alternative ready to the Nelvaanian Longswords and therefore this blade was developed, specifically for the Second and following Generations of Paladins.
Due to the opposition to use lightsabers and accept Force users, it could be no lightsaber itself, but it had to fulfill the quality of fighting a lightsaber and the materials which came into question, were either too heavy, like Phrik, or far too expensive like Cortosis or Beskar. Therefore Songsteel was considered as a balance between price and quality, as it showed a good resistance against lightsabers and was very light. Electrum was added to the hilt and pommel as well as some blade decorations for the fitting look and a grip made of red leather.
