- Aurelian Apostels: The special ammo is responsible for the high damage output. Due to its high speed but short short fuse it is rather intelligent ammunition, after impact, which can be a soft or solid target, the blaster bolt ignites itself in a high-explosive manner. Therefore it would tear apart an enemy from the inside with or without armour. If the armour should be strong and thick enough, the blaster bolt will still deliver a minor explosion with kinetic energy and tear out a portion of the enemy armour.
- Gun handling: The gun itself is not build to be carried by ordinary humans or humanoids, only beings with large and strong physics are capable of properly wielding the weapon. One could describe it as crude, even though it is on a high technological standard.
Macharian Industries set itself on the goal to improve the DC-15LE rifle and to make it more handy and more deadly for the next generations of Rim-Guard paladins to come. Therefore they have taken the design to be smaller in proportion but large in dimension. The result was the Lancer-blaster.
The Lancer is bigger and heavier than even most rifles despite being a 'carbine' and features a strong recoil. But those attributes were accepted by the fact that it would and should be carried by individuals who would possess a greater physical strength either way, so instead the thinking was put into the ammo and how to improve the battle rating dramatically. After experimenting with high-explosive blaster bolts, the 'Aurelian Apostels' were produced and tested with astonishing and shocking results. Extremely destructive rounds which worked both against soft and hard targets, based on tibanna gas.
The name 'Aurelian Apostels' originates due to the testers golden armour and their ideaological devotion to the goals.
