PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Due to her past, Revna has somewhat of a split personality. She has her 'Slave' mentality which dominated the majority of her life and is characterized by subservience, obedience, reluctance, shyness, fear, and anxiousness, and her 'Dark' mentality which is characterized by more Sith-like traits, such as anger, aggression, hatred, manipulation, dominance, deceit, and defiance.
Since claiming freedom for herself, Revna has become more bold and fearless, driven by an insatiable curiosity and hunger to learn all that she can about the Force, the Dark Side, and the Sith themselves. Though she is very reluctant and wary to trust, she gives her loyalty and devotion to those who do gain her trust. She is known for her wisdom and insight, using such traits to gauge her surroundings before making decisions. She is an individual of deep faith, and is a devout follower of the Sith religion Kotsûshatul Itsu. Though a former slave, she does have the belief that the strong should rule over the weak and that everyone has their place within a natural order. Those that are strong she believes should rise and claim their rightful place, and those who cannot should serve those above them to the best of their abilities.
Even with this belief, however, she strongly opposes the enslavement of living, sentient beings and seeks to destroy it and all those who practice it when and where she can; she believes that those bound in chains should be given a chance to either rise and claim strength and power for themselves, or return back to serving those stronger than they.
BACKSTORY
Late 870s-900ABY
Revna "Sharr" (House of Marr) (birth name: Dara Sharr) was born to her human mother Elara "Sharr" (since discovered to be Elara of House Marr), and unknown to her, her daughter had been born Force sensitive, with a powerful connection to the Dark side of the Force - something that was carefully cultivated through dark rituals done by her Vahla Sith sire while she was still in the womb and before he sold his lover and his unborn child into slavery, his reasons for doing this remaining a mystery.
She was very young, three or four years old, when she expressed her Force abilities for the first time. Dara, in her childlike innocence, showed her mother how she was able to make things levitate and come into her little hand without ever touching them. Shocked that her daughter was Force sensitive, she firmly demanded that Dara never tell or show a single soul what she could do, and to never use her "magic" again, out of fear of what might happen should the truth ever be discovered by their enslavers. The little girl obeyed her mother - though she secretly practiced her magic when she thought no one was looking or was around. She continued to do this, strengthening her abilities over time.
A few more years passed without further incident, but this all came to a tragic end when the young girl (10 years old at this time) unleashed her inner darkness against another person for the very first time, following the will of the Voice that had begun to speak to her not long after her Force abilities awakened. One of her fellow slaves - a human man in his 60s, was arrogant and chauvinistic towards her and her mother, insulting them whenever he could. Dara's mother was wise enough to ignore such crass behavior…but this was not the same for her bold and fiery daughter. She saw how much the man's words aggravated the girl and she tried to teach her that as a slave she must learn to handle such things so as not to do something "rash" and attract punishment or reprimand upon herself or the other slaves-but her lessons were in vain. During a confrontation, Dara's thin tolerance finally snapped and in a fit of rage she used her "magic" against the other slave - gripping him by this neck with an invisible hand, determined to silence him. His struggles for life awakened a deep seated darkness within her and made the Voice pleased with her, giving her a rush of incredible power that intoxicated the young girl, until the harsh slap to her face by her mother snapped her from the violent haze she found herself in.
But the damage had already been done. The man lay crumpled on the ground, his windpipe crushed. The killing was reported immediately to the Masters and fearing for her daughter's life, Dara's mother took the blame for the killing upon herself. Unwilling to let the slaying go unpunished, their master ordered her execution before the other slaves as warning, and though the girl screamed and pleaded for mercy, none was given and she watched her mother die.
Young Dara was now forced to face a life of slavery alone, consumed with the guilt of what she had done. Not long after the death of her mother, Dara was sold and for the next decade she served a wealthy and influential human businesswoman and noble named Esa Chadesi, who used her primarily for cleaning and cooking and to greet important guests when they came to the woman's house. This period of her life was relatively easy and she was well cared for; she even began to build a relationship with her mistress, even going so far as to see her as a secondary mother figure in her life. The near twelve or so years she spent with her Mistress allowed for some healing of her pain, and the dark Voice in her heart fell silent and was all but forgotten.
However, fate dealt Dara a cruel hand once more when her mistress lost her business and fell out of grace with the other noble Houses and had to sell most of her assets to pay her debts, which included Dara and the rest of her servants and staff.
Her new owner, Voss T'vondt, was a Devaronian businessman and crime lord with dark connections in Nar Shaddaa. He was cruel and sadistic and took pleasure in beating the defiance from his newest slave. In an act of self-preservation, the now twenty-three year old Dara broke and became the obedient pet he wanted her to be, and it was at that moment where her personality finally split into two and the Voice gave her the name of Revna. Satisfied that he had tamed his spirited slave, he brought her with him everywhere he went, and it was through these travels that she came face to face with a Sith for the first time. She served the Sith as directed by her master, but she never learned the Sith's name and she never saw him again after that point. But from that single encounter, she became mesmerized by the dark aura of power he had exuded, and in him she saw what she longed to be: powerful, dangerous, and free.
She remained a slave for Voss for just over three years, serving while she built up her courage and formulated a plan on how she was going to rid herself of him and the chains of her enslavement. The cruelties inflicted upon her continued, and she let them fester deep inside. It all came to a head one fateful night, when her master returned to his penthouse and set upon her in a drug induced stupor. The wall she had built around her festering hatred and rage for the man finally shattered, and she relented to the goading of the Voice within, finally unleashing everything she had bottled up inside and using her powers she hadn't touched in years against him. Guided by the Voice, she forced the man to relieve horrors and fears and nightmares that she conjured within his mind, making him suffer as greatly as she had. In the end, believing him to be dead, Revna took Voss's personal blaster pistol (though she had no idea how to use the damn thing)-and what credits of his she could find, and fled into the shadows of the crowded and crime infested city of Nar Shaddaa. She knew that if the truth of what she was and what she had done ever reached unwanted ears, then she was as good as dead. It took five more killings using her abilities for her to realize that whatever power she possessed was consuming her and driving her towards madness - and she needed guidance to learn how to control it...whatever it was.
Revna didn't know where to turn or who to ask for help, and the only thing she could think to do was find her way off world and eventually track down a Sith in hopes that maybe one of them could help her understand. After a harrowing fortnight, she found passage off world through a secret network that helped smuggle escaped slaves out of Nar Shaddaa, and soon found herself setting foot on a planet called Formos.
