The Shadow Rancor was ready for a fight as Leshanna Dromar Leshanna Dromar 's sith spawn came in for a pounce. The Rancor spun with frighting speed almost knocking Maiza off, but her legs clinched tight against the Rancor's neck managed to not get thrown from the beast. It swatted at the at the sith spawn but only to have it narrowly pull away.

For a brief moment Maiza's eyes caught Leshanna's as the Lesh jerked her beast back and asserted dominance over it. Maiza sneer at the woman as she straightened her position on the back of the Rancor. For a moment she thought about stopping there and putting Lesh out of her misery.

Instead, though Maiza just kicked the side of her Rancor and took off for the exit of the caverns. There would be time for her revenge at the finish line. "Kill you later sucka!" She screamed in the general direction of Lesh as her rancor now in firm order bolt for the exit.

The big beast came rumbling out of the caverns at near the same breakneck speed as it had started the race. Letting out a large trembling roar as it plunged forward for the finish line. The wind flowing through Maiza's wild hair, she may not win but she was going to survive this race.

The rancor pumping hard on its leg muscles pushed for the end of the line. Maiza's eyes firmly fixed on the finish she let those behind her fade in her mind. Though a part of her wondered what happened to the Jawa that was chasing her…. did he get crushed by that falling stalagmite. She shook her head, it didn't matter, this was the end of the race, and the war was about to start.

As she cross the line her rancor took a beeline for the winners circle not because she might have won but because that is where the fun would start.

(Roll was 14 +2 (terrain bonus) = 16 for the finish)

(18+4+10+5+16 = 53 total)

It seemed that the difficult terrain of the tunnels ultimately caused Zafira to lose any of her significant momentum of before. Not only that, but the rather temperamental young Adar seemed to have some strong opinions regarding their competition. It took all of Naami's composure and willpower to keep his feisty mount from turning back to try guarding the exit of the cave.

"NO Zafira! We are almost done with the race!"

His Force amplified voice boomed over the whipping winds and distant cheering crowds. It was impossible for him to gauge where they stood in the lineup of racers, but the zabrak was determined not to crash out at the very least and preferably finish within the top three.

The onyx sithspawn shrieked her displeasure with Naami's psychic insistence and the tough way he yanked bodily at the reigns connected to her crest of horns. The pair squabbled their way across the finish line but eventually made it, landing in a great spray of red sand.

Roll 4 + 2 terrain - 3 Adar = 3

What ally? Goodness Alisteri I would worry for your creativity were it not for having seen some of your work with my own eyes. Her entanglements are precisely what we might seek to leverage. Think you that she agrees with every move her allies make? Think you they haven't their disagreements?

Their lively sway and staccato steps carried them onward even as A'Mia lectured in the mental landscape.

Your method is to blast everyone with your truth, consequences be damned. Consequences, I might add, that have once already done you in. I don't prod you to be rude, or to mock, but I won't capitulate to your self centeredness either.

She smiled at him then, an expression that traveled to her eyes this time— full of an uprising of emotion through the mental link they shared.

Potential

That was what she seemed to be expressing, and finally her words took a turn toward the more favorable perhaps. Her flowing dress and perfect pace kept their dance smooth even as they navigated rocky conversational waters.

You make my point so well though, in regard to your master. What you do have, what you have more powerfully perhaps than most others: Willpower. You have the decisiveness and surety of self, of cause to do what it is that you are sure you must. That is why I seek alliance. If only you might learn to very occasionally stay your voice, to act, to pretend as so many others do, we might yet forge a path wherein you get much of what you desire with far fewer consequences.

LOCATION: OUTER RIM > SITH HOLY WORLDS > KORRIBAN > VARDIN CITY
TIMESTAMP: AFTER THE INVASION OF BROSI
OBJECTIVE: WIN SURVIVE THE RACE

After an exhausting struggle of navigating the caverns together, Haro and the Drexl finally emerged. The massive mount stumbled back out into the light of day, blinking its beady eyes against the sudden brightness and chittering indignantly, front foot trailing blood in the sand from where it had been impaled by a stalagmite. Haro's own sensitive subterranean eyes took even longer to adjust and he winced and shielded them with one hand while trying to hold on with the other. With an enraged screech, the creature shook itself off and Haro heard another concerning snap from the saddle which was already barely secured after their trials in the caverns.

The Drexl then began to gallop forward unsteadily, chasing the trail of fire and smoke coming from Varin Mortifer Varin Mortifer , the sleek black form of Naamino Zuukamano Naamino Zuukamano 's Zafira who had harrowed them earlier, and the shadow rancor with the mask rider in the lead ( Maiza Vex Maiza Vex ). After gaining enough momentum, it leaped up in an effort to take to the skies once again, the jarring motion causing the saddle to finally give way entirely. Haro, still somewhat blinded by the sun, scrambled to find purchase as the saddle slipped off the Drexl with him still strapped into it.

"CHIT CHIT CHIT!" The weight of the saddle pulled him away from whatever grip he'd found and he tumbled off the back of the beast before it had gotten too far off the ground. The fall wasn't far, and the saddle and sand actually cushioned the impact quite a bit, but it still knocked the wind from his lungs as he hit the ground. He was barely conscious of the sympathetic "oooooo" from the crowd and he coughed and sputtered.

Once he found his breath again, he unclipped the one strap that still tethered him to the saddle and rolled onto his back with a groan. He was patting himself down and checking for significant injuries when he felt the rumbling vibrations of heavy footfalls approaching quickly and lifted his head in time to see another shadow rancor, the bejeweled one ridden by Lodd Grimmin Lodd Grimmin , barreling out of the caverns and toward him. He shouted in alarm and quickly rolled out of the way to avoid being trampled by the thing then scrambled to his feet. He took a moment to look down at himself, grateful he didn't appear to have any broken bones, but his head snapped back up just as Leshanna Dromar Leshanna Dromar and her terrifying mount approached. He dove out of the way, barely dodging the snapping maw of the eyeless creature as it passed on its way to the finish line.

Haro rolled to his feet and glanced around to make sure no one else was about to trample him before he finally slumped and took a moment to catch his breath. The walk of shame to the finish line wasn't the proudest moment of his life but damn, he sure was glad to be alive and mostly unharmed save for a bruised backside and ego.
