Private Revanites, A Saber's Due

A New Power is revealing itself...

Catharian Hunter's Guild Flagship, "Victerix"
It had been a good few months ever since the Catharian Hegemony opened up its Hyperlane cannon. Her fleets, fully operational with many thousands of Old-Sith and Republic vessels at the command of a Empire lost in time. The Mysterious leader of this Hegemony, a Cathar named Xzaien has spread her call to the outer rim in search of skilled Bounty Hunters looking to both get within the good graces of the Hegemony and to help it attain its goals both politically and within the Unknown Regions. The very first of these bounty hunters, personally contacted by Xzaien's Infiltrators was a previously unknown bounty hunter by the name of Mister Sigma. A odd figure even for the Galaxy at large. A message was sent to Sigma, not by the hands of Xzaien herself but by the Catharian Hunters guild; a guild made up almost entirely of Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders who failed to follow Mandalore the Ultimate's call to battle against the Republic nearly ten thousand years ago. It would seem that on the behalf of this Catharian Hunter's Guild a single message was sent to Sigma. It read:

"Go to where the Jedi Order was vanquished, only to return again. The map to a weapon, the map to a forge."

Alongside a set of coordinates to the world of Dantooine. Clearly, this was no coincidence as Dantooine had suffered a near ecological collapse during the plague that wiped out most of the Galaxy a few years ago. But, its secrets of the past still remained buried, and untouched for these ten-thousand years. A artifact stood forgotten even by the scholars of the Jedi who sought to destroy any Sith Artifact they came across. All except for one. The Lightsaber of Darth Revan. Lost to the ages, was known to have been hidden away on Dantooine following his physical and mental death on Yavin IV by the remnants of the Revanite Order following its defeat by a joint force of Jedi and Sith Troops. All that was known about the small cult following on Dantooine, was that it existed in isolated pockets in the hills, its members little more than enraged barbarians seeking the return of the reincarnated Revan to save them from the ashes that is their ruined order.

On surface, a Man clad in Jedi robes stood his vigil inside of the ruined Jedi Enclave. Awaiting Sigma's arrival. His face all but concealed by the Ancient Pattern of Jedi Robes which encompassed his entire body and hid his face in shadow. Likely, this was a proxy of the mysterious Autocrat of Cathay... whom of which was ready to divulge job information the moment Sigma arrived.

His first official mission outside of the Unknown Regions. It seemed the Bounty Hunter's Guild already has major benefits for Sigma, being accepted for a basic fetch quest. Still had to start somewhere, and the Faction seemed big enough to start a name outside of his native area.

It was extremely cryptic however, pondering Sigma's thought in his travel to Dantoonine. Hopefully he would get paid, but more importantly be something enjoyable. Entering the atmosphere onto his Star Courier, he saw his destination. Exiting out to meet the employer (hopefully) inside, there was the initial signs of regret.

But it quickly wore off, as the hunter saw the man in Jedi Robes. Was this a user of the Force? Sigma wouldn't be able to tell, being outside of the Force. [However he doesn't know that yet.]

"Mister Sigma reporting."

As he spoke, it seemed that his mask responded like a face all in it's own. Like a second face.

The Robed figure that stood before Sigma held a Data-pad in his hands. As Sigma approached this brown robed figure, the anonymous robed man looked up, his facial features being revealed. The man that stood before Sigma was clearly a Light side user. However, he was but a old, white haired man clad in archaic looking Jedi armor underneath those brown robes. He was mildly bearded, and his eyes were both milky white with the faint mark of a sideways semi-circular rectangle over both of his eyes. Reminiscent of a light-saber strike to the eyes.

"The Lightsider"
He greeted Sigma in a eloquent manner, ensuring to state his name, intentions, and the job needed.

"Mister Sigma. I'm happy that you made it out here to Dantooine. Our mutual friend has given out a rather lucrative job for you. I am Master Kotia, former Jedi. Your job is to locate the light-saber of Revan in the old ruins dotted around here. Your payment is already ready, and you just need to acquire this artifact. I have found out with some mild to-severe difficulty the location of where it lies. The people here have seen it, its a big stone structure jutting out of the ground a few hundred yards East of here. It should be on this map, I'll send it to you. The place is guarded by some barbarians, but they shouldn't be a problem."

He'd send Sigma the information, before speaking once again.

"Best of luck Mister Sigma. Return with the Lightsaber or don't return at all."

And with that, The Lightsider would leave, with Sigma having a newfound ping on his datapad. The direct map toward this set of ancient Rakata Ruins.

"Don't return at all. How dare they doubt me."

In a jokingly manner, Sigma began his march east. It turns out that his employer seemed to rather be anonymous for the time being, sending an exile to give the details. An exile of the Jedi no less, which pondered questions. Questions he would never mention out loud, but what was thinking going to do?

If the barbarians weren't going to be a problem, why not send the Force user? A detail must've been let out, but it would be known eventually. Arriving at the entrance of the fallen ruins, Sigma loaded his most trustful rifle next to him. Whatever it was, it would meet the end of his gun.

As Sigma marched east, he would have caught sight with these so-called "Barbarians". They were clad head to toe in bright red robes, accented with shined copper bits. Each of them all clad in these visually identical robes, and in their hands their weapons. Vibro-spears and likely blaster pistols. Archaic in design. If Sigma read about Galactic History, these men were not Barbarians. But remnants of the ancient Revanite Order who followed their leader, former Jedi Revan again into war against both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire of old. Now, reduced to a mere squabbling tribe carrying the weapons and donning the armor of their ancestors. Little more, than well dressed tribals. At their head, sitting above the camp in a alcove a few meters from the Rakatan Temple entrance was another Revanite, this time. Clad in a far more intricate battle dress. Including a breastplate, and a massive headdress. His face was also concealed by the black visor that made up the front of his helmet. Placed on the table in-front of him, a long engraved cortosis weave vibroblade, again taken and passed down over the ten millennia.

Likely, the Lightsaber was a revered sacred object by these Barbarians. The artifacts of Revan were extremely rare with many thought to have been destroyed, his robes, his flagship, and the sacred Star Maps. However, what was confirmed to still exist which was his Lightsaber, held in these Rakata Ruins, and his mask. Likely hidden away in the Unknown regions with the Mask of Mandalore the Ultimate.

In total, there were approximately ten men, and ten women inside of this camp alongside children. It was Sigma's Call on whether or not to exterminate the last remaining Revanites or simply kill off the warriors and leave the women and children. Judging by their primitive weapons and archaic weaponry, the warriors weren't the problem at this range. It was the Chieftain with the Vibroblade who was likely a force sensitive. It was a time now, to pick his targets and eliminate them quickly and efficiently. Leaving the Temple which likely held booby-traps and ancient droids.

"A light sider with a superiority complex."

Revanites. Sigma began to ponder his attack plan, loading his rifle for rain of death. He was a professional despite unknown, meaning to only get the job done. Only sick men would cause collateral damage for the fun of it. Grabbing his own set of rope, the hunter would get himself to higher ground with the Temple. Above them all, he was clearly hidden due to the Force void within him. And so he took advantage, beginning to fire among every man visible.

The shots that went off were quick. Already five of the Revanites were instantly killed or mortally wounded, with the Rest to take up arms. A few of the women, babies clutched in their hands went for blaster pistols and the men, They turned toward where the shots came from and fired off bouts of suppressing fire. The leader of these Revanites knew something... and yet he refused to stand. Allowing his warriors to take the fight to Sigma. Their shots were woefully inaccurate however with many shots landing about against the rocks. Surely, if Sigma didn't move they'd start to land blaster shots...

Sigma would proceed to run among the top of the temple, firing the exact same spots that was fired by the Ravenites. He hoped it would crumble towards the group, ensuring a window to take the lightsaber.

"Bud, we have a job! We're gonna get some credits! Isn't this gonna be fun? And we were ALREADY mysteriously on the right planet already! They must've seen my poster or holonet post. Or, they saw my... I don't know where else I was going. Anyways, let's head towards the coordinates they gave us! I can't read coordinates, so we'll look for something important. Sound like a plan?"

Bud barked in what seemed like agreement. The man and his companion headed towards what they thought was the area. Neither the man behind the protective mask or the dog behind the mask knew where they were going, but they had each other and some fun ahead of them. The vast forests of the planet proved fun to navigate for Al'Taylor, he even picked some flowers along the way, stowing them in his age old ruck sack. Though from a quick glance he would seem distracted, he was still a man on a mission.

The current mission was to play fetch with bud. He got completely side tracked on the objective of finding the artifact while the other mercenary fought the age old warriors that represented an order that had fallen and risen a thousand times within a few centuries.

"Rrragh!" he exclaimed as he threw what was a pretty hefty stick.

Bud never returned with it, but he beckoned Al'Taylor closer with a series of rough barks. When the man behind the mask finally reached his small companion, he stood from a vantage point and watched the carnage go on. He also instantly fell in love.

"Bud... guess what time it is... Guess. What. Time. It. IS!" he shouted to his companion, bouncing up and down in joy.

"It's time to keep people safe from the apocalypse!"
He shouted, Bud barking in response and sitting down, knowing it'd take a while. There was no actually "keeping people safe", it was just killing them. Getting rid of them. Al'Taylor plopped down onto his chest, his rucksack moving behind him and shaking to the side, from his right hand, he set up his age old Amban rifle and sighted in on one of the targets. Not a warrior. Not a woman. It was a scare tactic. The target disintegrated in what seemed like seconds to outsiders, but felt like hours to the target. Now that a few of them were running in sheer terror, Al'Taylor laughed and moved in.

"See! Quickly cleansed, Bud! They won't have to see the apocalypse now! But... I wanna get up close and personal with them before I get uh.. whatever we came here for. I don't quite remember. Maybe the other bounty hunter guy will tell us!" he said, laughing and running towards the remaining guards while doing so.

The last of the Revanite Warriors were either maimed or wounded by the falling ton of rocks. The rest who weren't killed or outright wounded were sent fleeing into the hills. Broken and routed. Leaving behind the women and children who stayed huddled in their tents. All except for a son and his Mother who walked out to greet the Angels of Death.

The battle would be short-lived as Quarnz had appeared out of nowhere and began blasting at the surviving non-combatants. Completely disintegrating at least one seven year old directly in-front of his Mother who fell to her knees and wept bitterly, It soon began to rain as the blood was soon washed away draping the land in a dark ambiance which seemed to only exacerbate the massacre. The women and children were now at the mercy of the Bounty Hunters. The choice to kill them all, enslave them or do other unspeakable things were all open avenues.

The last of the men, the Tribe leader stood from his chair, and watched the decimation. Facing the extinction of the Revanite order he stood and watched. Not before grabbing a cylindrical object on the table the igniting it. The blade was blue in coloration, and clearly not the Lightsaber either of the Hunters were looking for but, the moment it was ignited. The Chieftan literally swung the blade at his own neck. Decapitating himself. He would stand for a few seconds as his head clattered away in its heavy headress before falling limply against the wooden parapet. Just beyond which, was the entrance to the Rakatan Ruins.

There was one thing that happened today. The extinction of the Revanite Order, once and for all.

"They really had no faith?"

It was common in the line of business, a second hunter to either help or steal the job away from them. Sigma was professional about it, but he hated both of it. And to a sick man no less. Still, the Vong kept his mouth shut about the young boy's death, grabbing the fallen blade of the former leader. Looking around for a few seconds, the large Hunter turned his attention to Al'Taylor Quarnz Al'Taylor Quarnz with his rifle aimed in one hand. A fear unable by most, but he was clearly large to wield it efficiently.

"You, go to the entrance. Don't even move a muscle while I look for the lightsaber, otherwise you follow suit."

He didn't really trust him, but he wasn't really going to pull a move unless provoked. It was mainly a business move.

The man behind the mask chuckled at the scene as his canine companion joined him, hovering over a few of the remaining lifeless bodies. In hiding, he found the mother of the boy. Children were always suitable targets because he didn't want them to experience the apocalypse. If only their mothers and fathers could understand why the man did it. To save them, of course. He wanted to prevent them from experiencing what he experienced.

"Hahaha. See, Bud? Everything's ok. Cleansed perfectly." the masked man said, looking down at his canine companion. A few moments of silence passed as the man comforted his masked canine friend. Then, it was broken by the mother of the boy. Her tears disturbed the man.

"No, no. Everything is perfectly fine! Look, he's safe from everything else that just happened! He won't have to experience war. I saved him from this terrible galaxy!" he said, the protective mask shifting upward; signifying that he was smiling beneath.

She didn't take too well to it and stood and run in sheer terror instead. The grin behind the mask turned into a frown and the man turned towards the sound of another voice. It was the other bounty hunter. He was very demanding, but it was fine by Al'Taylor. He'll go look for the saber, while Al'Taylor sat and waited outside.

"Fine by me!" he said, his canine companion wagging his tail below him.

The masked man turned and walked towards the entrance, sitting down on a stone bench with his rifle situated on his lap. Bud laid down next to him, his wagging tail slowing down to a more relaxed pace.

Sigma hated compensation. If collateral damage happened during the job, he made sure that those who suffered had something going for them. Normally that didn't happen, but it annoyed him from such a rookie mistake. Walking over to the rest of the women and children in hiding, his tone changed.

"I don't want to see any of you when we get back. Now go."

The survivors' fate was now in their hands, Sigma allowing a professional mercy. Walking to the very entrance of the Ruins down below, the Hunter made sure to call out for his counterpart. Al'Taylor Quarnz Al'Taylor Quarnz

"Let's go, get Bud some exercise."

As Mister Sigma and Quarnz approached the monolithic structure which stood half embedded into the side cliff face. Even examining the front door from here was enough to read that the building itself was utterly alien and unused for a very long time. Save for the small village just in-front of the this Rakatan Temple, no other signs of habitation or even movement was seen. Save for one interesting set of footprints long since worn into the front door.

Judging by the state of wear on this particular stone entryway is was probable that these cultists were following the Footsteps of Revan and Bastila on their trip to find all of the Star Maps. A sort of pilgrimage for those coming of age inside of the Tribe. The button to open the door however, was just a few feet to the left of these worn in footprints. If Sigma stepped forward and pressed the button the doors would soon shudder briefly before being pulled open on a extremely advanced sliding mechanism that has scant use outside of Star-Ship maintenance bays.

Inside of the temple there were two corridors heading off to the side with a open door leading to the main chamber to Sigma's direct front, however these corridors were blocked off with rubble. On the ground lay various long since rusted blaster-cannon magazines strewn about. Upon closer inspection to these magazines, they all bore the markings of a "Clan Ordo". Even around the room, the walls bore a mark of a large battle. Long since faded lightsaber marks from missed blows were on the ground, roof, and even walls. All presumably from one of Revan's original flock. One other curiosity also lay upon the ground, a destroyed ancient Rakatan Droid... curious.

The Main chamber lay before them, with a short set of stairs leading up to the main antechamber. There stood a large room with a dished in center with the remains of a long since broken down star-map. And a pedestal.

Upon this pedestal lay a rather plain looking Lightsaber, enclosed in a sort of "Jedi Resin" to preserve it from the elements, and prevent the unworthy from taking it from it, likely the resin was enchanted with Jedi Magics to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands and being used. Alongside this lay a note, scrawled in parchment.

"Here lies, the Lightsaber of the Prodigal Son. One of two. This weapon before you is a dangerous artifact, used to kill thousands of Republic Security Soldiers during the Jedi Civil War. This weapon is condemned to never again wreak its havoc on the galaxy any longer. Woe to whomever takes this weapon."

The name of who had written this note, had long since been rotted away...

Moments after Bud had dozed off, the other bounty hunter and his partner on this operation, Mister Sigma, walked from the last place he saw him and called out to him to come join him. They had massacred the villagers and their protectors so now it was time to complete the job and retrieve what they came for.

"Let's go, get Bud some exercise." he said as he called out to the masked pair.

Bud's ears perked up from where they could behind the protective mask and he looked around for the source of the voice, tail slowly beginning to wag as it usually did. Al'Taylor ran his hand along Bud's neck and stood up, grabbing his rifle and holding it in his right hand as he started towards the temple entrance alongside Mister Sigma. As he pressed the button, the door rattled the old architecture and slid open shortly after.

Then, he became distracted again.

"Huh. Wonder what we'll do with the money, Bud." he said as he looked down at his companion, "A few million. Huh. Guess I could buy a ship and learn how to fly it myself. One of those things that carries ALOT of stuff. Speaking of which. You know how many mask filters we can get for a few million? Huh. Crazy right. Might just go bury the money somewhere else after I spend a few thousand. I don't need much money anyway." he finished as the two approached the pedestal.

"I wouldn't mind taking it."

As a remark to Al'Taylor Quarnz Al'Taylor Quarnz 's rambling, Sigma felt relatively safe compared to most who passed. Although he didn't know it, he literally existed outside of the Force as a Yuuzhan Yong. Any trap of the Revanites shouldn't have no effect on him he would think, for a entirely different reason. Placing the leader's weapon within his current armor' s inventory, his mask almost had some worry reaching for the pedestal. Slowly, steady, and a quick grab.

Nothing.

"That was easy. Too easy.."
