ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Advanced Weapon Systems;
Hydrus - Enhanced firing rate and stopping power, the Hydrus has a fast reload speed and is able to be fired at standard weapons range. When used in prolonged engagements the Hydrus can overheat.
Scutum - Utilizing a very high rate of fire, compensated by recoil dampeners this flak cannon is able to produce a great amount of [SIZE=10pt]firepower[/SIZE][SIZE=10pt]. Designed for starfighters and missiles, the Scutum is unable to take out[/SIZE] anything larger.
Sagitta - Long range weaponry with a high stopping power, the Sagitta utilizes electromagnetic fields to propel its ammunition at a rate of 12 KM/S. With this in mind it should be noted that the recoil from the Sagitta is quite high and if fired rapidly is subject to degradation of the rails and magnetic coils.
Dual Layered - The Revanche utilizes a dual shield system, a standard deflector, and an ion shield work together to help provide the ship with a stronger defensive line. The addition of the ion shield was equipped to ensure that the Revanche could withstand more ion damage while helping to provide the full anti-starfighter screen.
Anti-Ion Mesh - An added measure to the Revanche, an anti-ion mesh to keep her going in the long fights. In a galaxy of starfighters and ion bombs, it felt natural to include the mesh. A type of insurance to ensure the Revanche wouldn’t be taken out so easily.
Target Tracker & Lock - Utilizing the 840.z Holo-Target Suite in conjunction with target trackers and a targeting systems assist gun crews with being able to better target starfighters and while the Revanche cannot target starfighters individually it can help operators better predict or guess where squadrons will be/go and flood the field with flak and ion.
Anti-Starfighter: Equipped with ion and flak cannons the Revanche is capable of blanketing the battlefield with ion and shrapnel making it quite difficult for smaller vessels to maneuver through. This is aided by the Revanche’s advanced targeting systems.
Fast / Maneuverable: While many ships within the Revanche’s size and class are both slow to move and turn. The Revanche is not, in fact, she’ll surprise many smaller vessels by her sheer speed and maneuverability.
Dual Layered: Primo Victoria’s [SIZE=10pt]dual-layered[/SIZE] system is in play once again, this time with an ion shield. The ion shield enables the Revanche to survive in fights longer than and withstand more ion as the battle wages on.
Anti-Ion: Another addition to help the Revanche was the Anti-Ion mesh, an underlay within the hull itself along with socket guards and cap drains to help her in the fight. Enabling the Revanche to once more withstand more ion and emp hits.
Missile/Warhead: This is twofold, one - like any ship the Revanche is vulnerable to various warheads and missile fire and can only take so many of these throughout a battle before succumbing to her wounds. Second, even with munitions controls and safety mechanisms to ensure that her warheads do not detonate sympathetically or prematurely - there is still a risk of this happening if the ship itself becomes too unstable.
Recharge: Many of the Revanche’s main weapon systems require either recharge times, cooldown periods or a watchful eye on ammunition. In any case, the vessel cannot simply operate on a ‘continuous fire’ mechanism and must take time to allow her weapons to cool down. Providing the opposition a great opportunity to lay into the Revanche.
Blind Spots: While the Revanche can turn and is able to keep up with a high rate of speed, she is not immune to blind spots. There are several spots where guns do not cover or the firing arc does not quite reach. Leaving her open to corvettes and smaller craft to run across the hull. Most especially if she’s gone quiet for a recharge time.
Starfighters: Some may find the humor in this, however; while the Revanche is built to screen for and help defend larger battlecruisers and dreadnoughts from starfighters. It itself is still vulnerable to them most especially faster interceptor-types.
The Revanche continues to combine Aurora Industries technology with Primo Victorian design. Utilizing three weapon systems from Aurora. The Hydrus, Scutum, and Sagitta combining ion, flak, and mass driver cannons as part of an anti-starfighter mission profile fit for the Revanche. The anti-missile octets and the point defense cannons round out the armament for the vessel. Shield and defense systems aboard the Revanche include an anti-ion mesh as well as an ion shield both working in tandem to ensure that the ship can withstand more ion/emp hits.
Also aboard the ship is a munitions control system with an anti-sympathetic detonation system. These are in place to help keep and prevent the Revanche’s own munitions from firing prematurely. Notably, while the Revanche is an answer to a problem that has long plagued Imperial-[SIZE=10pt]esque[/SIZE] groups, she is still vulnerable to Starfighters. Given that her weapon systems need time to cool down or recharge she leaves herself open to attack even for just a few seconds - those few seconds could make or break her depending on the situation.
