Farlon Orbit

Tough, Disciplined, Die-hard.
Orbit sat alone in the greasy, compact, and humid room that his host dared call a restaurant. He didn't mind, he'd been trained to live off protein sticks in extreme climates for weeks, this was recreation in compared to his days as a soldier. He missed those days, those days he had a purpose, he had a reason to be in this galaxy, to fight for the freedoms and liberties of the Republic. Now, he was a mercenary who'd take a dubious job as long as he got paid. He wasn't bred and born for this, it all felt wrong. Everything had felt wrong since he had awoken nearly six years prior, and even sometimes he wished that he had never woken, that he had died alongside his brothers in that damned facility, at least then he could've passed with the glory of a soldier. Now all he was, was some grey morale mercenary scum, something all to common in this region of space. With his synthesized food finished, Orbit dropped some credits on the table and left the restaurant without a single word to the owner.

Orbit didn't appear all too threatening, he only wore a blastplate over his chest, with a hoodless brown cloak covering most of it anyways. His only weapon concealed, he didn't grab any unwanted attention. Orbit set off, looking around the space station for some replacement equipment. Thats when he saw her, [member="Quinncolson"], a woman on the other side of the corridor. She seemed so familiar, he just knew it. Then the realization hit him, she was from his past, a Jedi Knight. A Jedi Knight he had served under.

Quinn would set in the restaurant, she was there to keep the peace. Since she had been awoken a few years ago she had been trying to make her way in the world, she had found her Saberstaff by some miracle, it still worked. Since then she had been roaming the galaxy in search of anything to cling onto.

On this particular day she had been told of a lead to the lightsaber of Adi Gallia, a Jedi master who Quinn had worked closely with during the clone wars. She was killed on the planet of Florrum and that is where Quinn was going to go look first.

She would glance around and make note of the man near her. She felt like she knew him, but she didn't know the face. She would make her way over to him and say

"Is this seat taken?"

Orbit turned towards the woman he had recognized from earlier, and nearly fumbled his words in his reply, "I, uh, sure, I mean no, its free. Feel free to sit." Farlon sat uncomfortably, he had no idea how to, break the ice per say. He had never actually talked to a Jedi, if she even was one. All he had was a good feeling, a very very good feeling, but a feeling nonetheless, maybe this wasn't the woman he had saw 800 years ago. The galaxy was a big place, and it was more than likely there were at least two people with no relation who look alike. That far more likely than a person that he knew from 800 years ago being unfrozen around the same time as him. But, curiosity still gripped him, he needed to be sure this wasn't her, Orbit wouldn't be able to live with him self if he knew he let part of his past walk away, never to be seen again. But he would start subtle, nothing too strong or else he might over do it, "You from these parts?"

Quinn would graciously take a seat, her saberstaff dangling beside her in the air. She would trust the force and begin to speak to the man "No I am actually not even from this time, I am Jedi knight Quinn Colson I was born in the days of the old republic, I trained under master Mace Windu. I fought in the clone wars, I even lead the 187th legion while Master Windu tended to other matters. Your force signature doesn't seem from this time period you have an old soul persay. You are not from this time are you?"

Orbit was surprised by the Jedi's straight forwardness, but he had experienced Jedi before, they were a special breed. Farlon didn't jumble up his words this time around, "No I'm not master Jedi, to be frank, I'm from the same time as you." Orbit made a half salute with two fingers, "Trooper CT-0318, at your service." Farlong sighed, "So you led the 187th? I heard of their exploits back in my Clone Wars days, what was it like leading such an elite legion of clones?"

[member="Quinncolson"]

"It was quite nice actually, normally as a Jedi you fight alone, on your own it was nice knowing that you had people watching your back. It was interesting, I also had the opportunity to assist on leading the 41st elite, that was an intense battle but I much preferred the 187th, I grew close to a lot of the troopers and the commander. What legion did you serve?"

Orbit scratched the back of his head,

"202nd, we fought in Geonosis, I participated in a few smaller skirmishes, but I wasn't apart of any large battles beyond that. For the most part of my tour during the war, I participated in squad operations, I can assure you I wasn't special forces, like those ARCs or Commandos, but I fought on the small scale. Although we survived the occasional casualty, thanks to our Jedi friends most of us usually made it out ok. A year into the war, we were given one mission to infiltrate and capture some separatist scientist, nicknamed the "Nutcracker". When we entered the facility, it seemed fairly run of the mill, take out a few security droids, then drag the cowardly, but willing bespectacled man that fit the description of our target."

Orbit took a deep breath, but continued with his story,

"Our General, a Jedi Knight who called himself Freen Ghurk, fell ill to some sort of gas only lethal to his species, panic ensued after that. As he was dying we decided to abort the mission right there, and see if we could evac him soon enough to save his life, but we were surrounded. This monster of a scientist had created these hybrid beings, part droid, part sentient being. We were outgunned quickly, and surrendered once we lost our squad sergeant."

He closed his eyes,

"For nearly half a decade, he did unspeakable tests to us, many of my organs are still irreparably damaged from his genetic testing. Something about our accelerated aging process and what constituted a Kaminoan clone kindled curiosity in him. In the end, besides damaging my internal systems, the only changes to my biology had been deterring the accelerated aging, but I would have traded that in a heartbeat to die like a soldier on the battlefield. Eventually he put us in carbon freeze, we didn't know why at the time, but we couldn't do anything about it anyways. Only when I woke up around six years ago did I learn why. He had been hired by the Empire, the successor to the Republic, to work on some biological weapons project. He never returned to finish his tests on us, he died eight years after being hired by the Empire, some Rebel attack had occurred on the facility he worked at, died in an explosion."

Orbit took a swig of whatever he had in front of him, his throat sore from the long story,

"Excuse me, master Jedi, if I droned on, nowadays I don't really have much to do other than drone on. But please, tell me more about your experience, I got taken out of the war early, I want to know what you know."

Quinn would listen to the mans story nowhere near bored, she herself had heard this story but never the first hand account of a clone in the attack. As he told the story she could imagine with great detail the attack as it took place, she could see in her mind these creatures, she had encountered them herself. She had helped in the search for the 202nd during the time after their disappearance.

She would look the man in the eyes and speak "I was present at many battles during the clone wars, I fought in both the first and second battles of Geonosis, the battle of Coruscant the battle of Christophsis, I was present at the battle of Florrum I witnessed the death of Adi Gallia before I fled the planet with Obi wan Kenobi, there were countless other battles. I heard the sounds of Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tin fighting Palpatine. That was the worst day of my life, my master was killed. I was hidden not far from the office, I heard every voice every sound of the lunges made by both sides and the screams and roars. The Emperor's roar still haunts me every night to this day.

"After I saw Anakin enter the office and heard the sounds of Master Windu being thrown from the room I immediately made a run for it. I knew I didn't have much time, I made it to the Jedi temple. I thought I would be safe there, that was when I wished master Yoda was there. No such luck, I heard the approach of the 501st I warned those who I could but no one would listen to me."

"They told me to leave, so that is exactly what I did, I tried to convince them to let me take the younglings with me but they told me I must report to Master Yoda on Kashyyyk, by then I had found out Skywalker had turned. I saw my basic training with him and this felt like betrayal to me. I had just begun my way to Kashyyyk when I was attacked by a large frigate. I was forced to try to Jump to hyperspace but I didn't have time"

She would take a sip of her drink before continuing "My ship was disabled and I was boarded, I did not go down easily, I took down several dozen of them using the advantages my ship had, a narrow hallway that only two people side by side could fit through at once. After a while I was forced to retreat. There were just too many of them. They didn't kill me though, they said they had different orders. I was then cuffed and my saberstaff taken from me, they took me and the last thing I saw was the inside of a Carbonite chamber."

"Most would say my greatest day was in the battle of Dantooine, I was there in place of master Windu. We were to hold the lines, I set the 187th up in a high point in the battle field where I knew we would have the tactical advantage. There were many times we were under heavy fire and I didn't know if we would hold out. But with some tricky formations and such we held out."

"Another legion you may have heard of that I had a hand in leading was Jolly roger Squadron it was a division of the 501st that was comprised of fighter pilots. This was while the legion itself was under the leadership of Jedi General Prong Krell. I was quite skilled at the controls of a fighter myself so I was named commander of this Squadron."

Orbit listened intently, it was the first time he had truly connected with somebody, he identified well with [member="Quinncolson"]'s story, having had one like that himself. Although many of the battles she mentioned were foreign to him other than brief footnotes he learned while reviewing the history of what had happened since his carbon freezing. It felt nice to talk to someone who was in the same situation as him, or at least as similar as it could be. When she finished, Orbit let silence hold the air for a moment, before asking a follow up question, "So, master Jedi, what are you doing now? Since the Republic collapsed a few years ago, I wouldn't know the place of a Jedi in the modern galaxy."

"As of now I have been trying to find some sort of a place to settle down, someplace that feels like home. I have been unsuccessful as of late but I have a lead as of right now. I will soon be heading to Florrum to hopefully retrieve the saber of Adi Gallia. YOu are welcome to come with me." She said smiling at him, she also had plans to create a Lightshield for herself.

Orbit was surprised by [member="Quinncolson"]'s offer, he hadn't served under a Jedi in years, in both conscious and unconscious years. But, the offer was very attractive, having a purpose, doing something for someone other than himself. Besides, he had a debt to pay, a life debt to all the Jedi he failed to serve, to the Republic that he had not completed his duties, this could be some way to start paying that off. Confident with his choice, Orbit answered, "I'll join you master jedi, I have a bill to pay, and I better start settling that price tag. When are you leaving the station?"

Farlon nodded, "Understood mast-, Quinn." Orbit poked at his food before he asked another question, "So exactly what business do you have left on the station?," Farlon tapped his concealed holster, "I'd be more than happy to assist, need be."

Orbit stood up briskly, and brushed off his coat, "I tied up any loose ends out here a few days ago, I'm as ready as you are Quinn." Orbit held out his hand for her to take, so that she could lift herself up on it, "Please, no need to address me as sir."

[member="Quinncolson"]

She would take his hand hoisting her little frame out of the chair, the man towered over her but he did not seem to wish to harm her, he must have still had his inhibitor chip must still be in his head. That made this a dangerous situation but she knew how she could remove it without scaring and without pain. "I have to ask is your inhibitor chip still in your mind?"

[member="Farlon Orbit"]

Orbit was confused by the question, this inhibitor chip she spoke of was foreign to him, "Inhibitor chip? Why would my mind have an inhibitor chip?" Although worry began to spread in his mind, Orbit kept a stone cold look, he did not like to falter before others.

[member="Quinncolson"]

"It was inserted into every clone during their prenatal time, if you have never heard of it, its still in there. That is dangerous, this could be used to control you, as it was during order 66 to make the clones kill their Jedi commanders, this is why it is dangerous. I could remove it for you without pain or scarring on you. If you would allow me to"

Orbit was dumbfounded from this information, a inhibitor chip? He knew something had felt off when he learned of the Order, but this was unthinkable to a clone like him. Stammering out the words, "I, uh, s-sure. Probably for the best, right?"
