Menoetius

Anzat's How it's Done

ANZAT
The ground was soft underfoot. Loose soil and short, brown, grass that was easily uprooted with every footstep. As the Anzat and force void known as Menoetius walked, he pondered on this fact, likening it to the One Sith he was loosely affiliated with. The soil was the faction itself, which held everything together but only just. The grass was every individual within the faction, reaching towards the sky, attempting to grow with the little sustenance such barren dirt provided. Just as each footstep displaced and destroyed many blades of grass, so would the Galactic Alliance displace and destroy every holding in One Sith space. Menoetius had seen it in a vision during his year long meditation and believed it to be fact...

He had also seen his involvement in such destruction but, surprisingly, not on the side of the Sith.

The vision began and ended with his homeworld, Anzat, so that's where Menoetius had decided to travel; intent on following his vision until its conclusion.

You see, the idea of a galaxy devoid of the One Sith appealed to Darth Erebos. It would effectively be a blank slate, ripe for expansion and conquest under a new banner more suited to his dark and ravenous cravings. This was the reason Menoetius had formed the rebel triumvirate with Jacen and Gerion oh so long ago, to instigate his own rule and campaign of death. Ever since then, however, he had stagnated; much like the brown grass that struggled to grow in this barren landscape.

Slowing to a halt, the Anzat gazed out over a cliff's edge, admiring the distant horizons and muddy skies of his homeworld. Change was coming. He could feel it. In fact, he could feel it coming right now.

An almost familiar sensation was making its way planetside nearby. It sent shivers down Menoetius' spine and raised an eyebrow on his wretched face. It also made him rather hungry, as the sensation seemed to emanate a powerful force signature. Ripples of forceless void seemed to buzz around the Anzati as the supernatural hunger within him awoke, and the brown grass that surrounded his robed form wilted and died.

"Listen up, children."

Most of them were adults, some almost as old as her: Dark Jedi of Ke'dem, wearing armored black bodysuits and lightsabres at their belts.

"What you're about to feel is called a wound in the Force. There are a few things called by that name, and this is one of them. A sentient kind. Darth Nihilus lite."

"Like Odium?"

Ashin gave the unfortunate questioner a look that could have fried durasteel for brunch. Her past with Odium was not discussed. Except, apparently, it was. "Exactly. Odium, but less so. His name is Darth Erebos; he's an Anzati, and used to be my student, in a sense."

"So our job today is to recruit him?"

"My job is to recruit him. Yours is to avoid getting your life force devoured, and possibly learn something in the process."

The transport settled down on the dark plain of Anzat. Ashin and company disembarked.

The presence had landed in the plains close the cliff face. So close, in fact, that Menoetius could make out the ship and the figures disembarking. The shivers continued to run up and down his spine, which angered the Anzat as he hadn't felt what he was feeling in a long, long, time. Apprehensively, he mounted the speeder bike used to reach this location and kickstarted it. The engine roared into life but, despite the sensory overload of both sound and vibration, Menoetius couldn't shake the eerie feeling that raised hairs on his neck.

He knew who he was about to meet, he just didn't know if such a meeting would be... Beneficial, to his continued existence. The last time he saw her she was a Jedi, after all.

Erebos guided the bike through the grassy plains at a moderate speed as he didn't want to rush into it if indeed it were a hunting party. Which looked likely, as each and every one of the individuals sported a lightsaber. The feminine figure exhibiting the distantly familiar force signature was now clear enough to see, and it was definitely the woman who had once trained Menoetius in the ways of the Sith. Sure, she looked a little more battered and scarred (and completely fething different), but it was Ashin Varanin.

Menoetius slowed the speeder into a halt about fifty feet away from the landing party and waited for a few moments. He was hooded, like always, and regarded them all from under the supernatural shadows that covered the entirety of his face. A few moments passed before he spoke, using the force to amplify his voice so that it may be heard.

"What brings you to my world...?"

This was the second ex-Sith Emperor he had posed that question to, and this was the second who would try to recruit him here. Funny, that.
