Resurgence

[member="Cynna Jade Sunrider"]

Always, Morse was paranoid but she had seen and from hearing the stories from the holocron and all of the Sunrider family she knew that the darksiders came from everywhere. "Yeah but I always have some unease." She was looking over some of the things when they landed and she could get out stretching looking over the hanger they were in. There was a small alert she could hear as the hanger activated its hardlight and the image of Quiet came to them. "Identities confirmed, welcomed to the Rift station. It has been four weeks since we have been visited by another jedi team, the previous team was taken by bounty hunters wearing Hutt Cartel armor."

"Taken by bounty hunters?" Jade replied her tone skeptical. The image of Quiet floated before both Jade and the padawan [member="Morse Sunrider"]. "I find it hard to fathom how a group of pesky bounty hunters can take not one Jedi, but a team of Jedi by force. What are these Jedi, a bunch of padawan 10 year olds? C'mon now!" Jade continued to question mockingly. It probably wasn't very appropriate for her to do that, but that was simply Jade's nature. Sighing she continued. "Alright then, tell me more about these super bounty hunters that you speak of. Who are they, who do they serve and where do I find them?" Quiet probably had no idea, however Jade figured she would have nothing to lose in asking.

"Scans indicate they were Qreph biots, a biological droid created in the rift at one of the tations and designed to overpower force users as well as bend beskar." The AI gave a look while Morse looked more curious and agreed with Cynna about a super bounty hunter when an old holorecording came up. A bar with massive lizard men fighting a jedi and the a mandalorian in full armor before the Nargon smacked him across the room caving in the beskar helmet before catching the blade in his arm for several moments until it managed to melt through. THe long tail whipping and fighting the others before Quiet appeared. "Intelligence wise based on information they are very low just enough to follow order but combat wise their bodies are strong designed to be tanks. The jedi in my station are researchers and technicians who design and construct the equipment for fighters."

"I see." Jade nodded now sounding a lot less skeptical. "For a moment I suspected Sith involvement as who else would have been capable of taking out a group of Jedi. Yet to this moment I fail to detect any dark Force present." Smiling Jade looked at the padawan and then to the AI. "So I guess this rules out any Sith or dark Jedi user involvement. The Nargon appear strong indeed. Yet intelligence wise, that is a different story. That is where we have the advantage. Morse we wont be able to go into this fight with all guns blazing. We will have to use stealth and tactics." Jade once again looked at the padawan before turning back at Quiet. "Okay so where to next. Where is the most likely place they took them. We need a lead and from there we will start looking." Jade said folding her arms. She seemed uneasy about this whole mission. Sith, powerful and dangerous they may be, but at least they were familiar territory. The way things stood at the moment, she had very little knowledge on the enemy at hand, and that was enough means for immediate concern.

Morse thought about it while she was watching the recordings and well with Cynna at least agreeing that things could be stronger against the jedi. That was a start but. "Well can never discount the darkside. It is usually there just below the surface for something or another." She was ready though for the plan, find them and use tactics over their brute strength which was from that recording in her mind a big part of their skill... also their tails. Those things were long and she imagined just as strong if not more so then their normal arms. "I think we might want to go and look where they were made. The base for the Nargon wa in the bubble itself. They could use it to experiment and develop in day or week what would normally take years... because inside it was years." Going to another station was a pla they could do but Morse was wondering. "Quiet what was being developed here with your researchers?" The AI seemed to think about it as it spoke and brought up a square of mesh. "Next generation jedi mesh designed to be super lightweight but able to withstand and eventually become immune to lightsabers and the force itself. To provide the jedi who follow the lightside with one of the newest achievement in over a thousand years."

Jade immediately frowned at the idea of the creation of super Jedi. So unnatural and dangerous. It was dangerous enough having Jedi in the first place. How easily one could succumb to the dark side. Image one of those Jedi falling to the dark side. Jade eyed the padawan again explaining her thoughts. Then again looked at the floating image of the AI. "I would say these kidnappers and thieves took the Jedi team for their research. If we can make super Jedi, with the same technology, they can make super whatever the hell they want. No good for anyone if you ask me." Jade shook her head in frustration. "We need to move and get to the bottom of this now. Like you said if things they years to develop, here in the rift, years equals days. That's far to uncomfortable for my liking. We shall start with the Nargons. We'll find them first. Hopefully that will lead us to who is creating them. Hopefully, and by that I mean I hope their creator is the one who kidnapped the Jedi team. If he or she is trying to create some super army of beings, they and it must be stopped at all costs." Jade once again faced [member="Morse Sunrider"], her body posture showing full determination along with the tone of her voice as she spoke.

Morse gave her a nod in agreement to the plan and the idea of making really powerful equipment for the jedi to be able to use and she had seen some of the equipment made previously that used solari crystals to restrict it. Still morse had a grin on her face and she was ready for this, to go and find where they had been made or were being made and here in the rift it could be a very powerful thing. "Alright then, let us go and have some fun." Morse knew fun wasn't the best thing but she could work with it and there was something exciting when it came to investigating and the sense of discovery you might be able to find. "I am looking forward to seeing what we might be able to work with and figure out. We'll be able to make it to the station and infiltrate it."

"Fun?" Jade chuckled to herself. "When I was younger I would always go by the motto, Danger is Fun." You remind me of younger years Morse. But I must seriously emphasise that it isn't the case. We could get seriously injured or killed so it isn't really fun. Either way your enthusiasm and determination is excellent." Nodding and smiling at the padawan Jade then turned back to the AI. "Obviously you're probably not going to know where the Nargons are being created or anything, obviously correct me if I'm wrong, but what was the last direction they went in? If we can perhaps follow a trail of some sort, it could lead us straight to them."

She nodded in agreement to that and well fun might have been the wrong word but at the same time.... there was something to it when working on many of the things. A jedi's life was one of helping people and helping the people across the galaxy was a larger thing but you needed something to go with it and happen. Morse knew that some jedi got bored of what they were doing and sought other things o pass the time. Some usually decided to go towards pathways that led to the darkside and it was a problem. So sh had worked on finding a way to get interesting things in all of her missions or adventures. "Maybe but some danger is always needed as opposed to just milk runs. We might not be able to learn new things or be challenged."

Jade again giggled as [member="Morse Sunrider"] tried to justify her choice of words regarding the fun and the danger. "Oh don't worry, I'm only teasing. Believe it or not, I'm now 37 years old. When I was your age, I was as reckless as they came. And I'll tell you what, nothing has really changed. I still am. But as my padawan learner, I don't want to encourage that behaviour because for one it makes me a bad teacher, and two you're my responsibility." Jade grinned at the young girl before clarifying something in her sentence that she was sure Morse had picked up on by the semi confused expression on her face. "Yes Morse, I accept the responsibility of master. As of now, officially I am your master and you my padawan. That's unless you object to the whole thing?"

Jade waited for Morse to respond and then moved on. "We'll leave my ship here. It's all locked up and only the pattern of my hand and retina of my eye can unlock it. Any would be thief will have to kidnap me and force me to open it, or kill me and then drag my body here to open it. Neither is gonna happen, I'll assure you this much now. Let's move on out on foot. It appears the Nargons went eastwards. We will go that way too and see what we can discover as we trek out." Jade then quickly checked that she had all her weapons and necessary gear on her, and then asked her padawan to check her own stuff. Once ready, the two moved on out.

[member="Cynna Jade Sunrider"]

Morse looked at her and wasn't as surprised but at the same time she did show something on her face... surprise or excitement it was hard to say while she was working over a few of the thoughts for what they could figure out. "Alright lets go and find it, who knows we might be able to recover some of the other things and help out with the research in our own way." She had a few ideas though of what they could do while traveling forward and holding her saber popped her neck checking all of the seals of her bodysuit with a bow of her head. Belt and equipment pack ready to go searching for the source of the biodroids to stop them and save some of the jedi. "I am ready to go." She had the channeling crushgaunts and her sigil for protection from the darkside. This was as ready as she and them were going to get.

Both were now ready. With a quick nod Jade motioned for Morse to move on out. Leaving the Soul of Wildcat, Jade's TIE Defender in the hangar bay, the 2 would begin their trek eastwards. The terrain was rocky outside of the hangar bay. There were many lose rocks around, narrow walkways and openings between hills and mountains, as well as a variety of different cliffs, cuts, gorges, ridges and so on. "If possible, let's maintain the higher ground. Easier to see an enemy coming or fight in the event we were to get waylaid."

Both master and padawan had now been walking for several hours. "There isn't much of a trail, but it still seems they went this way. I feel a faint signature in the Force. That of the taken Jedi. It's weak but it is all that is guiding me for the moment." Although suddenly it appeared that Jade had talked a little too soon. A growling noise could be heard out in the distance, and then two Nargons appeared from the the other side of a small hill. They stared the two Jedi as they then growled and hissed further. "Well looks like we got some company. Come to think of it, I was starting to get a little board anyway." Jade commented sarcastically igniting her lightsabre at the same time. "Yeah c'mon bring it on!" Jade enthusiastically proclaimed as the two Nargons charged at the two Jedi on an obvious attack run.

Morse was going with her and gave a nod as she was reaching out with the force for herself. Letting thoughts go to what they had when she breathed in the scent of the air around her. Feeling the force senses when she was reaching out traveling behind Cynna when she heard the sounds of it. The large Nargons were even larger in person when she was looking at them. They had looked big on the screen compared to the other people but here and now seeing them charge at her she could feel the vibrations of the impact from their bodies. They were larger when she moved to the side and was holding her saber in her hand gripping it in the channeling gauntlets. "They look a lot bigger in person." It was more the obvious observation to protect them when she was moving to the side activating the saber with a snap hiss of her blade when the golden sun colored blade appeared. A thick tail lashing at her while she rolled to the side over it slashing when it went past her.

Jade watched her padawan from the corner of her eye to make sure she was okay. She seemed to be able to hold her own as she ducked, dived and rolled to slash at one of the beasts. Her old master had taught her well Jade observed. Jade however had other ideas. As the other Nargon came at her, she moved slightly to one side at the last minute, allowing the beast to skim straight past her. Then with a push of the Force, assisted with the creature's own forward momentum pushed it with terrifying speed into a nearby canyon hurling it off to its ultimate death. Not bothered to lunge at the other Nargon that had turned back at Morse whom she had initially slashed at and wounding, Jade retrieved her blaster pistol and pumped a few rounds into its head, ending its pitiful life in the process. Satisfied she then holstered her gun and also shut down her lightsabre re-clipping it back to her belt.

"My apologises for that unorthodox method of elimination," Jade commented on the fact she had used her blaster over her lightsabre to finish off the last Nargon. "I can be a bad influence at times." Jade smirked as she continued to walk in the direction the 2 Nargons had come from. "I sense the missing Jedi team stronger in the direction those 2 Nargons came from. It's a good bet they will be there. Let's go." Jade said hurrying and gesturing for her padawan to do the same.

Morse was moving to defend and protect herself while she was moving over the different sections they had managed to work on things. Then there was the sound of a blaster as she looked over one or two fo the things, seeing the blaster in her masters hand as the big thing was still twitching and moving a little. These were biomechanical droids and some droids still functions without their heads for a time when she was looking at them. "I don't know if regular killings will be safe master... there are few instances of diodroids in the galaxy." She said it but was fine with working on some of the things before she was walking and placed a small beacon on it... If somehow it like got up and was a headless thing chasing them she didn't want it to sneak up on them. She could also feel outwards with the force to access many of the things and feel the force signatures of the researchers while they were going.

Jade listened while Morse explained how sometimes the Nargons thought to be dead were not fully, and could get up and attack even headless. "I see," Jade acknowledged as Morse placed a beacon on the dead creature. Well if it gets up, at least it won't be able to see where it's going. Should be easier to kill than one that can see I guess." Satisfied she then kept moving along.

Several more hours would pass without incident. Finally the two reached a cliff edge. Jade retrieved her micro-binoculars and had a look downwards towards a tall structure that was surrounded by several smaller buildings and a wall. "There down there towards the left near the small river. It clearly is man made. A facility of some sort. The Jedi presence is stronger there, especially near the tower. The place also looks heavily guarded." Jade paused a moment lowering her micro-binoculars. "I've got to get to the top of that tower." Jade looked at her padawan, cocky smile all over her face. "And if I run into any trouble, that where you get to bail me out. Anything you wish to add before we head down?"

[member="Cynna Jade Sunrider"]

She was looking at Cynna and gave a nod of her head while shew was thinking about it and well did she want to add anything to it when they were working. "Ah not really, we should be able to handle the situation here. Just be careful, it would be really hard to explain to the family holocron what happened to you." Morse said it and well the sunrider holocron had been a big find for the jedi it had one of the best for families of the jedi. There was a small look while she was ready to go and head down with a small look over herself getting a field rebreather before she pushed out with the force energies to sense and feel for electrical fluxuations in the force that were able to alert her to the nargons.

The 2 Jedi made their way down the cliff without incident. Slowly and subtle they made their way towards the heavily guarded facility. Jade stopped once more and indicated for [member="Morse Sunrider"] to do the same. Having another peep through her micro-binoculars she re-assessed the situation. "Looks like there are a lot of armed men. All sorts of ugly ones too. From rough looking human bounty hunters to green little Rodians. Going in from the front doesn't look like a good option." Jade finished saying lowing her micro-binoculars and then sitting herself on the rocky floor to simply rest her legs.Jade then tossed the micro-binoculars at her padawan. "Take a look and tell me what you think. Then together we will devise and then decide on our next step moving forward."

[member="Cynna Jade Sunrider"]

She was looking at it and getting some ideas for it while moving. The bounty hunters she could feel with the force the different ones while she was looking through them. There was a large one that wasn't a nargon and two with long range rifles... Not including in there were others they couldn't see. You always wanted to have a spotter somewhere else with a birds eye view of the situation to report in for everything. "I see a few and there might be a spotter or two to alert them from incursions." Morse aid ti while she was looking around and being careful to stay within a small area for cover and protection just in case. She wanted to check out the major llines of sight that they could see

"There doesn't seem to be a back entrance? It appears there is that tower in the middle with small buildings around it and then it is all surrounded by that wall. No matter which way we go from, we'll be in the open." Jade sat their playing with her own fists while she continued to study the area frustrated. "However it is quite a large area the encircled wall covers. It seems on the outer side it is less guarded. If we enter from there, it may give us a little extra time. That is we would only need to fight a few before the others arrive, in which by that time we run for the tower. Then we can fight from inside the tower as the others come for us there. Would be easier fighting greater numbers confined to one closed area than in an open area where snipers for example will have free open shots at us. Lastly we can initially use our mind tricking techniques to get us to the what appears to be the rear gate. Might at least get us through the actual gate before the others past the gate realise who we are and then force us to fight." Jade finished off by shrugging her shoulders at her padawan. "Its not the best plan, but we don't really seem to have any better options, lets get going." Slowly the two Jedi paced back a little. That way they could walk around the edge of the mountain ranges they initially came down from and that wound around the walled complex. Not making themselves seen by any onlookers from within the complex, they then began walking towards the rear entrance of the walled complex. Once there, the two guards made up of a dirty hairy human and a Nargon ordered them both to stop, the human instantly pointing his blaster rifle at the two Jedi, while the Nargon roared in anger displaying its claws reading itself for an attack.
