- Medical Ship: The Resplendent Dawn is a specially commissioned State-of-the-Art medical ship, capable of serving as a field hospital or mobile clinic as the situation demands.
- Droid or Organic: The ship features a full droid compliment to manage the medical functions, able to fully automate in a pinch. The droids can be deactivated in favor of an organic crew, depending on the captain's preference.
- Mechanical: The ship features droid mechanics to keep the ship running in the absence of organic crewmembers
- Medical Archives: The Archives play host to a wide range of medical documents, with resources and references for all known species, biological needs, anatomy, etc.
- Integrated Droid Pilot: The ship features an integrated droid pilot, allowing the owner to travel without the need to hire and organic pilot. The droid, of course, can be deactivated in favor of an organic pilot at the captain's discretion.

- No weapons: Being both a civilian and Medical ship, the Resplendent Dawn has no weapons, and must rely on armed escorts for self defense.
- Automated: with automation comes the risk that systems will fail or droids will break.
Commissioned as a test for further medical ships, the Resplendant Dawn draws inspiration from the design of the Aquila-class frigates, taking the same shape as the ECM frigates, but sharing little else in common. Early on in the design, Voph requested that the full automation be added in, though future designs will not feature this functionality. Further tweaks were made to the design, including a custom design to the captain's quarters, giving the appearance of a traditional cabin from Silver Rest on Kashyyyk. Voph also included systems to promote the ship's survivability, as previous wars had taught him that certain factions have no regard for civilian life.
