Private Respite With A Healer

TAG: Sylor Sylor

The job of a healer was never truly finished. There was always a flow of patients, be it minor or major injury. A cough here, a protruding bone there, there was even a case with a splinter earlier on in the afternoon that had actually made Eenia have to keep from chuckling to herself. She took care of it without fuss of course, but the fact that people had come to trust and rely on her enough to come forward with something as simple as a splinter? She wasn't sure if she should be honored, or if she was merely being used so people didn't have to do the simple things themselves.

Either way, she was happy to help. She had been learning from Adelle Bastiel Adelle Bastiel - albeit slowly considering the other healer's life was incredibly more busy than Eenia's ever could be. And the blonde didn't mind that either. She was happy for her friend, worried sick about her on most occasions, but happy for her regardless.

Besides, Adelle's busy schedule let Eenia study like she was supposed to, most of the time anyway.

Right now was not one of those times. Instead she was finishing up with tidying up her work space when she realized that she was no longer alone. The blonde's petite frame turned most of the way around and a warm, already understanding smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she caught sight of the person who had come in. "Everything alright?" It wasn't a judgmental question, but a genuine one. "What brings you in?"

He really didn't know when to stop. That was probably his own good and bad trait. He was constantly on the move, constantly protecting and preforming his duty to Clan Verd. Maybe it was a bit of stubborness, mixed with something else that he couldn't quite put his finger on. He was a soldier for most of his life, to stop, to....relax? It seemed so foreign to him, he recalled the night at the Gala, that in itself was an incredibly strange experienced. For one evening, under the cover of a more elegant individual. He allowed himself to drink, chat and be....merry?

He wasn't sure if he hated that, or he hated that while he was off having fun, that something bad was happening, that he could've prevented.

So after several weeks of covering up the brusies, ignoring the paint, it was his comrades himself that advised him to get some medical care. A dislocated shoulder, some cuts across his arms and such that have healed, but haven't. Stubborness and perhaps idiocy, however when it came to protecting Clan Verd, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do, for his family.

"Everything alright?" It wasn't a judgmental question, but a genuine one. "What brings you in?"

Sylor smiled softly and nodded his head. "Forgive the intrusion my lady. I require some....I require some....." He cleared his throat, as the words stuck in his throat. He was having trouble saying them, as it seemed so foreign to him. He glanced around for a brief moment before he looked back at her. "I require some help, some healing."

Syror was not wearing his armor but more so a more easy going outfit, fit for the venture that would be today. He explain the extent of his injuries, that had healed, but hadn't. From his dislocated shoulder, that had been fixed, but was still troubling him. To the various bruises across his body, due to the constant strain of battle, and never properly healing.

There was a barely visible balk from the blonde healer, and a smile slowly tugged up at the corners of her mouth. “My lady?” She repeated the not-title, and then shifted so that she was leaned just a little more to one side than the other. “I think I like that.” she then stated with a nod before her gaze really started to observe just what she was dealing with. At first glance, there was obviously discomfort somewhere, but the more she looked the more she could feel that discomfort was a facade, hiding real pain.

Ocean colored eyes lifted back to meet this new patient’s gaze, and she both watched and listened as he struggled to get his words out to her. “Well I suppose you came to the right place then, hm?” That smile did not fade, and Eenia gestured to a seat rather than the medical cot that was set up.

“So, how did you dislocate your shoulder?” The question didn’t come until he was seated, and considering he hadn’t said anything to her about his shoulder, Nia was prepared with an explanation. “The way you carry your arm when you walk, it’s a tell.” Her tone was not haughty or reprimanding, but rather calm while she explained. And while she did not move to put said shoulder back into place yet, she did gesture to the wounds along his arms.

“May I?” She knew better than to just reach out and touch someone without permission - unless in an emergency of course. And if allowed, she could start tending to him while he explained what had happened. If he cared to explain, that is.

Sylor smirked, giving a small, subtle nod. "Most women do. Some might think it's too extravagant, but I feel it serves its purpose if it's used as it should."

The veteran warrior stepped forward slightly, his gaze drifting around the room for a brief moment before her next question reached him.

“So, how did you dislocate your shoulder?”

"It happened during a battle. Perhaps weeks of constant wear and tear, along with not paying attention when I should have. Ignoring the pain comes easily to me, until eventually it doesn't." Sylor smirked as he took the seat she had indicated. "Would it help if I said I was stubborn?" he added with a hearty chuckle.

“May I?”

"Oh, yes. Of course," Artorious replied, offering his arm. "I believe I managed to get it back into place, but it's still giving me trouble. So either I failed, or it's simply lingering pain."

"How long have you been doing this?"
Sylor inquired curiously.

"Well, I can assure you that you are the first ever to call me as such, but I can see why others seem to enjoy it." While not an official title, especially for Eenia, it was flattering in a way. But being flattered wasn't why they were there, and once she was given permission Nia's hands lightly fell to the injured arm that had been presented to her.

A soft click of her tongue followed after a few moments of examining, and she leaned her head a little to the side to get a better look at his face again. "Do you know what this is?" She asked him, her eyebrows raised as she waited a beat before speaking again. "This is definitely pure stubbornness." There was a tease in her tone and it bled into her smile too, since he had admitted he was stubborn already. Her hands coasted up along his arm until she got to the shoulder, and while she had to apply a bit more pressure to get a good feel of the socket, it wasn't enough to cause any major discomfort.

"Seems like whoever set your shoulder back into place did a pretty good job, but its still just a little out of whack. Probably from that stubborn thing and going back into the fray before it was fully healed." There was no warning to follow her words, her hands just gripped beneath the shoulder and elbow and she tugged quick and sharp, which earned a satisfying pop and had her letting go of him again. "I'll let you breathe a moment, then start on the other wounds."

His question about the years under her belt made her smile again, and she took the time to grab a stool, sit, and scoot it closer before answering. "I've been healing for as long as I can remember." She told him. "I have an older sister who is also very stubborn, and healing her from something dumb was actually how we found out a lot of things about me." Her shoulders shrugged. "I was young{/I], and our parents hid me for a long time, but like most secrets, mine didn't stay hidden for long."

"Do you know what this is?" She asked him, her eyebrows raised as she waited a beat before speaking again. "This is definitely pure stubbornness."

Artorious smirked, allowing the softest of chuckles to escape him. He had a feeling it was something to do with that, and that feeling was the pain in his shoulder. He felt her hand move into position, and he knew what was coming. It wasn't painless. The sudden movement and the pop could be heard from what seemed like miles away. He didn't flinch, didn't even measure it up. Pain was something he was accustomed to. The more you got used to it, the more it became all you knew. After a while, it became like a part of you.

Maybe he thought it wouldn't affect him, until the day came that it did.

He took a deep breath before exhaling slightly, regaining what little composure he had lost just then. "Thank you." Sylor gave a small, yet short nod, the faintest of smiles on his face as he looked ahead.

He listened attentively, not because he felt he had to, but because it was respectful and because it was right. His gaze broke from the forward view as he looked over to her when she mentioned her sister being stubborn and made reference to secrets.

"Well, for my part, I'm glad I stumbled upon you," Sylor voiced calmly and sincerely. "It seems your sister was lucky to have you around." What she said toward the end struck a chord with him, and he looked back over to her. "I don't mean to be invasive, but why would your parents hide you?"
