With the installment of the Republic Knights as the new jedi organization to defend the Galactic Republic and the opening of new Force Academies for the force sensitive citizens a need for resources has risen.

1. We ask that the storages of the material to the old Jedi order are reopened and its content offered to be used by the Republi knights from here on.

2. The Knights of the Republic ask the senate to fund the following items to uphold the current quality of the newly opened force academies.

• Furniture
• Robes
• Communication installments
• 6 standard shuttles for transportation between the academies.
• Kitchen equipment
• Basic medical supplies
• 2 x Bacta tank
• 12 x Training droids

3. Furthermore the Republic Knights request for support and funding to establish a long term contract with Sasori Research and Design to supply the Knights with equipment and material for the continued and ongoing protection of the Galactic Republic, said contract to be reviewed annually.

In the already existing inventory we have a few items that says Jedi order in the Republic already. Special robes and some star ships. Those are the items the first request is about.
The second request is RP fluff. We need chairs and tables …
The third is a possible expansion of the inventory list with extra jedi equipment that would be very cool to have and most likely give us an upper hand in future PvPs - if you agree to fund it.

I left specific amounts away from this because it is just confusing and never makes sense…. Or?

Will the Senate be convening anytime soon or do we meet irregularly as needed? I'd be happy to present this request to the floor provided it's not something you'd do. This would perhaps go well with [member="Caius Flavian"]'s idea of committees as far as actually managing Republic budgets. Perhaps dealing with contracts in private companies would also be something the commerce committee could manage?

I think we are going for irregular convening. So you start one when you got a reason so to speak.
Mantic would not forward this request, only reason a jedi should appearin the senate is if there are questions about the request.

Go ahead, and I would say that this is a small errant so 2-3 days limit for folks to cast votes? But thats up to you.

When we discussed the relationship with the Jedi and the Republic, it was decided that they would be brought in as counsel, not as soldiers. The phrase "war material for the defense of the Gallactic Republic" clearly shows martial intent.

A gaze of contrition bore down into the world of Carida.
I would soon be appearing before the newly formed Council so as to account for my actions in the peace keeping operation not so long ago.
My thoughts were hanging on how to best phrase and make my point.
Politics were quite messy.
The memory of being an Imperial Commander with boundless and broad sweeping powers still lingered at the back of my mind. How ever my actions now were no longer for my own selfish desires, in fact my goals were the betterment of the galaxy in the name of Kista Fel.
So it would come as a surprise, and perhaps a sign, to receive on the official Republic Senatorial channel a request made by Jedi Master Mantic Dorn. It was a request made out to the Senate as a whole.
If I could be at Chazwa in person I would but unfortunately, just I'm certain other Senators may be, I was tied up on domestic issues with my constituency.
Celestials take me that word, constituency, alone is like a pickaxe chipping away at my Imperial pillars holding my sanity up...
I set about making a reply and CC'd the Minister of Intelligence along with the Supreme Chancellor.

<Jedi Master Dorn, thank you for submitting this request. For clarification I would like to address a few things before getting this moved forward.>
<As with any sort of funding request I would like to ensure that that the specific needs are met. It comes with my Imperial heritage of crossing ts and dotting the i so to speak>
< To address the first concern to reopen Jedi Materials I presume that at some point the government had confiscated these? By this language I was unaware of such an act or bill which made this so, but then again I've only recently become part of this body of government as well as the Republic. I believe that the Supreme Chancellor should have the executive power to overturn or override any sort of preventive measure put in place by the previous regime.>
<As for section two! This is the Senate bread and butter, thank you once again Master Dorn, I feel it would be a great opportunity to put out contracts to small businesses out there as well as the known and established ones to aid the Jedi Order as well as the pending Force Academy system. A few concern though I hope you could address?>

1. ​Item One - Furniture - Master Dorn, is this a one time request? If so we will find a suitable low bid one time contract on the galactic marketplace. However if you desire customization of furniture or even require a long term supply (I can only imagine younglings damaging chairs and what not learning how to levitate things) then we will seek out the appropriate contracts to meet this requirement. I presume that your facilities may grow and expand, in the future, beyond the current capacity. So I feel that we can find specific companies that suit these needs.
2. Item Two through Five: All of these can be met through government contracts. We will make the appropriations for this as soon as possible.

<Lastly Section three it seems that you've already had an eye out for a large fish to supply the Order. I'll work perhaps with a few of my colleagues to establish a long term contract to meet some of the needs in section 2. However I hope we can diversify as well, a versatile arsenal in my book is a better means of bringing combat superiority to a fight! Not that the Jedi will actively be engaging in warfare of course but simply put the Sith are not your friends in the slightest!>

Fantastic! Well I honestly see plenty of opportunity to get at least four or five different companies involved. Let spur the economic wheels and heal our reputation with this by helping some small companies meet those Tier climbing requirements along with improving our relations with the private sector In Character. I have a subaccount who owns a droid company and I know a few others who also have droid companies. This will be great means to building a catalog. [member="Gael bar Ammon"] yup this would be a great thing for the committees. My goal with that is to make short (ten posts at minimum) dev threads that can be used by both the Republic as a major faction and the company as development. Incentives abound!

The Force Academies (Apollo Foundation, Institute for Paranormal Studies) are government initiatives, so they should already have full funding for accommodations. I want to keep their operation seperate from the Jedi Enclave, which is what you're really asking about here.

As for the Enclave, I think the way you're seeking funding would give the Senate too much control over Jedi affairs. As an alternative, the Jedi should be finacially compensated for monitoring (and optionally instructing) at the academies. Then you're free to do whatever you want with your stipend. Leasing options could be offered for the vessels, but with the numbers you requested, I wouldn't mind just donating to the Jedi out of my own pocket. The same goes for furnishings and appliances.

As another source of income, I can offer you and your friends at Sasori a sub-contract to help me manufacture some components for some limited productions at Panacea and KSA. The Jedi and Sasori would be paid well for their services. Again, you would be free to spend the credits you earned on what you like, with no government intereference.

The Senator of Cartao flipped through the notes. A basic Appropriations bill, a little porky. He sighed.


"Tigress, you've got an eye for budget issues. Waht are your thoughts?" he said, eyeing one of his compatriots with a smirk. She was a pilot and free-booter as much as she was a clone soldier, and she had the eye for money. Poet was the wordsmith and historian. Laughinstock was the sociable one. And he was the idiot leader. And now, the idiot Senator.


Tigress smirked, showing more teeth than she ought to. "Frankly, this isn't too bad. Sasori research, I had stock in these guys for a while. Basically, they're a concept product company, mostly makes comission work for Jedi-affiliated organizations."


"On a scale of Pius Dea to Zoggra the Hutt, how clean are they?"


The woman shrugged, adjusting hair slightly. "Cunning, but not all that evil. They get a little weird with fashion, but we're in no position to judge."

YEs, this became more complicated then I intended. It was merely meant as an opportunity to get some senate discussion going. Appologize if it was unclear about IC or OOC. I am not sure myself
But, from an IC perspective the Republic Knights are starting up with lesser reasuorces then the old Jedi Order and so I figure it would make sense to have some sort of pre RP before claiming that we got access to all the good stuff that we know already exist in the Republic. To expand and help new companies being supported by the Republic would be great though.

The office in the temple was felt huge. But mainly because there was nothing there but a lone terminal. Mantic had not used it much anyway and besides his necessities he did not reay require much more. The monastic life offered to the jedi that had remained giving their aliegence to the Republic was a humbling experience. But one that Mantic considered a good way of life for any that followed the jedi path.

Therefore he had not been certain about the request he had forwarded to the senate. He feared that if they recieved to much help the jedi would son return into a decadant state and risk to anew putting politics and personal perspectives above servitude.
This was soemthing that Mantic thought was part of the original schism among the jedi. Too many had fallen to the lures of the physical world and forgotten their place in the galaxy as protectors of the weakl, not its leaders.

But a table and a chair would not hurt... he mused and felt the ache in his back as he leaned forward on the cold stone floor. The terminal gave of a "blinking" and a "ding"

It was a incoming transmissions from senators [member="Caius Flavian"] and [member="Nick Sept"] contianing questions about his requests military natuire. It was good that they questioned such matters, it showed that the senate did not seek to throw the jedi out as soldiers at first possible opportunity.

Right... he thought for himself. It was his first contact with the senate as their new jedi representative. I might as well get used to it." he decided and started to hit the diggits formulating a response.

"Honorable senator Flavian,

I am grateful that the senate has found time to go over my request for the order.
I will try and keep myself short since I assume that your time is precious for the people of the Republic whom we all serve.

The Sasori Research and Design is lead by one [member="Matsu Ike"] - a jedi I personally went to see before I forwarded my request. I assured myself of that she was of the light before proceeding and got her personal assistance in selecting items that I consider would be of great use to the order in its work to protect the Republic.

The contract can be written in such a way that the order may only buy items that function on a plane that will either strengthen a jedi's senses or otherwise provide protection for jedi as they face challenges regarding matters of the force."
