It was a massive arena, with countless citizens of Luminoss funneling through the equally numerous rows of seating. In the middle of this grand stadium was a rather large ice rink where, even though they had repulsors, the figure skating portion of the Fire Lotus Cup would take place. While the loud chatter from the hundreds of thousands of spectators echoed throughout the air, the occasional booming roar of some unknown creature could be heard over it all; a bad omen of things to come.
Once many of those who had come to attend had taken their seats, the Judges waddled to their seat in a secure box just off the side of the skating rink while a hovering device in the air displayed holograms of various advertisements; the most current being Dosuun United Imperial Healthcare (Family run since 832 ABY).
When the Judges turned on the voice amplifier, the crowd went silent in anticipation. "Ladies and Gentlemen of various species! Get ready for a spectacle that has two move as one! Skaters; Begin!" They said, talking in turns. Light, rather romantic music came on as couples slid into view.
Figure Skating
0. Anyone can join as long as they have a partner, no sign-ups.
1. Teams must consist of two (2) skaters moving in unison. ("no soloing, that's weird." - Tefka, 12/3/17)
2. The Force is not inhibited, characters may use it as they please.
3. If your teammate trips, both of you are disqualified*.
4. One of you must be twirling a flag while skating, if it touches the ice you are disqualified*.
5. Small-scale weapons are allowed, you may attempt to trip other teams over, use of explosives means disqualification*.
6. No harm to anyone except your rivals, failure to adhere results in disqualification*.
*persons deemed disqualified will be subjected to live lions released into the rink
