GenderFemale
Height5’8’’
Weight145 lbs

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Rena Haunt is a pale-skinned Echani with a lean, athletic build shaped by discipline rather than brute strength. Her complexion is porcelain-white, marked by a scatter of dark freckles across her nose and cheeks that soften an otherwise severe appearance. Her eyes are large and faded blue in colour, almost grey and observant.

Her hair is ash-blonde, worn pulled back in a practical style with loose strands framing her face. Scars mark her upper brow and lip, as well as her back and stomach. When not in official uniform, Rena dresses in fitted, utilitarian black attire layered beneath a long coat, the cut allowing unrestricted movement. Leather gloves, strapped holsters, and a well-maintained pair of blasters are worn as extensions of her body rather than accessories.

INVENTORY

Rena carries a pair of reliable blaster pistols wherever she goes. Aside from that, most of her possessions are standard ISB agent equipment. For now.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Rena has a constant look of indifference and boredom on her face. For the most part, this is always exactly how she feels. Many years of harsh imprisonment, combined with the guilt of her crimes, caused the woman to spiral into a depression. During her confinement, she developed a severe case of anhedonia that still lingers in her personality to this day.

Despite this, Rena is still capable of steeling herself for what must be done. Thanks to her recent freedom, Rena has found a new purpose and a chance to atone for her previous mistakes. While she may appear bored and uncaring in most circumstances, Rena has been reminded of her earlier ideals that led her to join the Initiative in the first place. The lawlessness and chaos rampant in the galaxy required a strong hand to correct it. None had proven capable thus far in creating lasting galactic order, but Rena would still back those who were trying. If what others called “tyranny” was the price of security, she would gladly pay it a hundredfold.

STRENGTHS

- Unshakeable Composure

Rena’s emotional flatness gives her an almost eerie calm. She does not freeze, panic, or second-guess herself once a decision is made, even when lives are on the line.

- Pragmatic Loyalty
She supports causes, not people. This makes her dependable in unstable power structures, as she remains committed to maintaining order even when leadership is flawed or unpopular.

- Elite Starfighter Pilot
Rena was an exceptional fighter pilot, excelling in high-speed engagements and chaotic combat zones. Her precision, spatial awareness, and instinctive control make her especially lethal in dogfights and pursuit scenarios.

- Methodical Investigator
Years spent as a bounty hunter trained Rena to track people, not just targets. She knows how to read crime scenes, follow behavioural patterns, and piece together fragmented information with patience and discipline.

WEAKNESSES

- Ends-Justify-the-Means Thinking

Rena is dangerously willing to excuse brutality if it produces stability. This mindset can lead her to support oppressive actions without fully questioning who benefits in the long term.

- Emotional Distance
Her inability to fully engage emotionally often reads as apathy or coldness. This creates friction with allies who mistake her restraint for indifference or quiet judgment.

- Chronic Depression
The weight of guilt and years of imprisonment still hang over her. In moments without structure or direction, her motivation can falter, leaving her vulnerable to apathy or self-neglect.

- Slow to Trust
After experiencing betrayal, imprisonment, and moral compromise, Rena has been left deeply guarded. She assumes others have hidden motives and withholds trust until it is earned through consistent action over time. While this protects her from manipulation, it also prevents her from forming alliances quickly, leaving her isolated or unsupported when cooperation is urgently needed.

HISTORY
Rena has had an interesting life, though she would be the last person to use such a word. She began as an orphan on the neon streets of Nar Shaddaa, one of millions that littered the smuggler’s moon. Her upbringing wasn’t particularly special, as she quickly joined a gang within her home sector and lived most of her youth as a street thug. Like many of the orphans of that place, Rena witnessed and experienced the horrors of sentient depravity in many forms. She was a willing participant for many years, but eventually decided to take her life elsewhere.

After saving up the credits for the gear, Rena set off on her own to see the galaxy beyond Nar Shaddaa. She quickly found herself picking up bounty hunting, as it had been a reliable means of income back home, and she had the skills to be good at it. That’s when things began to shift for Rena. Her years of system hopping, manhunting, and investigating had shown her just how ugly the galaxy truly was. She had been desensitized to it back home, but now remembered how chaotic and dangerous it had become. Every day, she saw the worst of the worst with the bounties she was collecting. Not just from her targets, but the ones paying for their capture as well. Did she really enjoy contributing to this system? Was money really worth all this? Even if she wanted to, could she stop it?

Then she heard of the Initiative.

Rena had never really given the imperials much thought before. But from the information she had uncovered, it sounded like the group was made up of like-minded individuals. They wanted to bring back an Empire of old, one that favoured stability and order above all else. Rena had no idea if they would succeed, but their ambition was inspiring. The Sith were far too chaotic and self-destructive to provide any kind of stability, and the Jedi had proven too weak to maintain control for long. No matter how many times the guardians of the republic rose, they were always cast down again. Perhaps she could help a new power try?

It did not go as Rena expected. Shortly after making contact and enlisting with the Tarkin Initiative, Rena eagerly joined their budding Starfighter Corps. Her experience as a bounty hunter helped her excel, and over the years, Rena became quite lethal in the cockpit. Her rising career attracted the attention of others, but not of those Rena had been expecting. It began with encrypted messages and convincing words. Someone had fabricated very compelling evidence against the captain of the vessel on which Rena’s fighter wing was stationed, and claimed they needed Rena’s help in exposing him. They hid their identity, lying to Rena by saying the captain had deep influence and couldn’t risk him finding out. In her young naivety, Rena believed this mysterious person’s words when they said they were an internal agent and that Rena’s actions were going to help them solve this case of corruption.

What followed was a chaotic sequence of events that culminated in the destruction of the cruiser entirely, leaving Rena out in the cold while her “internal agent” helper vanished in the cosmic wind. It was only after she was arrested and tried that Rena learned the full extent of her own crimes, feeling overwhelming rage and guilt over her role as an unknowing pawn to some mysterious adversary. Her stupidity not only cost the lives of many experienced crewmembers but also sensitive internal data Rena had acquired from the ship’s computers. For these crimes, Rena was sentenced to perform manual labour in one of the Initiative's prisons.

That was ten years ago.

Recently, Rena has been released from prison and can be seen wearing the unmistakable uniform of the Imperial Security Bureau. As it turns out, someone with power was impressed by Rena’s resourcefulness and skill when she was committing her crime a decade prior. Despite the severity of her actions, they displayed potential. Now that she had ten years to sit on her mistakes, Rena was offered a choice. Carry out the rest of her long sentence as she had been, or put her talents to use serving the Initiative.

It was an easy choice.
